Sam is stuck.

The Nalitokk have collected a variety of races, aliens of all colors, shapes, and forms. Of those, humans are hardly the most unusual.

In fact, ever since waking up in their clutches, Sam has been working hard to make sure humans appear entirely unremarkable. Years have whiled away as the inquisitive aliens have come to regard their newest test subject as defective. Damaged. Little more than a pet.

As much as it hurts, Sam knows it's the only way to keep surviving - for the time being.

But times are changing, and Sam can’t live under the Nalitokk’s radar forever. When things come to a head, Sam has to make some hard decisions about how to break free of their grasp. Decisions which change everything - from the Nalitokk’s view on humans, all the way down to Sam’s humanity itself.

With the Nalitokk hot in pursuit, Sam breaks free with one singular goal - home.

Book 1: A Good Man

All are to be ordained.

All ordained are to be registered.

Those who stray from the path become obsolete.

These are the tenants the grand Mercian Bureaucracy lives by. None can escape their destined path, lest they become obsolete. The obsolete are hunted down by the ordained assassins, supported by the Mercian government.

Follow ordained assassin 2500116, Eli de Winter, as he performs his duties in the grand city of Victoria. Fifteen years ago Eli suddenly found himself in a world unlike his own. Within the maze of the many layered streets of the industrial city he was forced to make a new home, performing acts that would have seen him convicted on Earth.

Gangsters, revolutionaries, kings and princes, all are playing a game with the highest stakes. The winds of change are blowing and everybody wants to be on the right side of history. While the powers that might be are making moves in the shadow there is only one question that haunts Eli's mind.

Is he a good man, or is he obsolete?

Book 2:  The Color of Revolution:

Any and all items of color are prohibited.

Carrying an item capable of spreading color is considered a capital offence.

For centuries the city of Black and White has been the capital of the Rosharian Monarchy. The winds of change are blowing across the continent. In the North Mercia has disrupted into civil war, breaking the stalemate between nations. The Rosharian Monarchy and the Kievan Hegemony are at each other’s throats, deploying newer and ever more destructive weaponry.

None of this is of any consequence to Catherin de Winter. Yes, the nation she’s currently residing in is at war. And yes, her brother who disappeared from an airport seventeen years ago appears to be the right hand man of a power-hungry dictator. No, her main concern is not starving to death, which means keeping her job, which means being a good journalist. However when she’s forced to investigate a vandalized wall she gets a lot more than what she’s bargained for.

Amidst a cut-throat web of aristocrats, noblemen and artists Catherin will have to navigate around ridiculous laws, unrelenting censors and xenophobic sentiments all the while standing in the long, dark shadow of her brother, Eli de Winter, Chancellor of Mercia.

202X - The Universe is proven to be a Simulation

An outbreak of nihilism and crime follows the discovery. It is not long before institutions and criminals develop a way to cheat our false reality and achieve impossible feats. They call this new tool Glitch and its uses vary: from editing the body with superhuman capacities to manipulating the elements and the Earth. Those who yield this new power are called Glitchers, and they are held as the Greek Heroes of the new times.

Edward Williams is a naïve anime-geek teenager from Chicago who dreams of making a difference in the world. He becomes a Glitcher when Thief Queen Elizabeth Shao, a legendary Glitcher herself, suffers a betrayal by the hands of her comrades and invades the boy’s body in order to cheat Death and plot her revenge.

Together, Edward and Thief Queen will build new bonds, live many misadventures and try not kill each other in an ever more chaotic America.

Cover art by the talented graphic designer ssddx. The entire novel's philosophical proposal is about finding meaning in a nihilistic world. This novel is a fun juvenalia take on the impact of the 'Death of God' and Descartes's skepticism. ;)

Scyria was a harsh world, where death came swiftly for the weak and foolish alike, but at least it was stable.  Societies matured, knowledge improved, and slowly, one tiny step at a time, life got better.  As tough as the world could be, the people of Scyria could at least look forward to the fact that each upcoming year would be a little better than the last.

Then they showed up: people from another world, thrown into this one for reasons that neither they nor the natives of the realm can discern.  This is the story of these trespassers, and the people of Scyria, as their arrival sunders the fragile order and plunges the world into a chaos unlike any it has ever seen.

A-Live AI

A-Live AI

The year is 2247.

For almost two hundred years Sentient AI research has been banned.  Everyone knew this, and yet no one has ever given up on finding the perfect setup for it.  Restricted AI are rare, but possible to get ahold of if you have the money and the clout to get through the law for it.  Especially when it deals with the military.

Alfred Homis is an engineer and has spent the last three years working for the United Terran Military's Research and Exploration Department.  Specifically to help build a 'shackled' AI who's prime directive was to explore potentially habitable worlds.  Worlds that are far cheaper to colonize and add to the United Terran Directorate's fold than terraforming.

During the AI's maiden voyage things go horribly wrong, taking Alfred Homis along for the ride.  Thrown into a parallel universe where the laws of physics are just a little messed up, Alfred finds himself trapped inside the very machine he'd helped to build.  Add magic, hostile fantasy creatures, and two different pantheons of 'Gods' to the mix and things get even more complicated.

Oh, and an invasion between universes to boot.

But that's just all in a days work though for Alfred, the AI Lord.

Authors Note:

Hi guys!  Long time no see.  And yes, I know that's all on me.  But I blame life for that.  Anyway, this is my new work, and I hope you guys enjoy it!  The chapters are a little shorter than I'd previously posted in my other stories, but I cannot say that I have the same amount of time or energy to write them like that anymore.  Sorry about that.

Still, some warnings:  There is cursing in this story.  I am not going to edit it out.  There will be sexual content later.  Blood, gore and cruel depictions are all planned.  If that isn't your thing, I'd suggest you turn back now.  There is also my dry, and often not-so-funny sense of humor.   And oh, it's all in first person gain.  Haha.  I just tend to write better that way.

If none of that bothers you, then enjoy the read!  Feel free to comment, point out mistakes, or make suggestions!  Reviews are nice too, but please lay off the criticism until the story gets good and going.  Thank you.

Note 1:  Some edits to the synopsis.

When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps.

An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous.

Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option.

This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either.

Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!

The future became a peaceful utopia in the Core Regions. No crime, no wars, no conflicts, even rude behavior is rare.

People became complacent and lazy.

The main character isn’t a hero or a typical protagonist. Calling him an… opportunist would be the least offensive probably. In this age, he’s sticking out like a sore thumb.

Who would notice a few shady happenings when crime is a foreign concept and there is nobody to catch you?

For all beings are the paths of fate carved, but for three dark elven children did the loss of their parents put their fates in clear unwanted view. Being murdered by a wizard in the body of a beastly Minotuar, this brutal unscrupulous terror was bent on ruthless backlash to all in the realm for his own dark suffering past.

Through the aging course of fifteen years, being both guided and protected by their new guardian uncle did the children’s mission finally start. Forced for their own safety from all they knew they leave their home that was fashioned in a world under the world. Their clan was nothing more than a rebel shadow of their old race, driven into hiding from persecution and disloyalty of not willing to uphold the continuing evil traditions of their ancestral nature; and with struggles unseen they fight to emerge from the shadows to the surface realm, with a final goal  to one day be again equal both in sociological weight and rank.

Accomplishing such tasks held its risks; for the three on their endeavor discover the complications of sibling rivalry, loyalty and personal acceptance.             Unexpectedly do they find trials of the body, mind and soul with allied companions along their journey, that introduce them to truth, love and self sacrifice when stories of their own past intertwined with theirs.

Will such tasks lead the children to the same doom that brought them to this very dark alley; or strengthen their resolve through the sight of true purpose not only to defeat their mortal enemy, but defend their continuing wished existence within the realm.
