Shovels In Spades

We all have dreams of becoming powerful, becoming the cool mage that rules the world, living as the dashing rogue who can steal a kingdom's entire royal treasury undetected, or perhaps, the valiant knight whose prowess on the battlefield is unmatched by all.

However, when the apocalypse strikes, you can only use what you have at your disposal, be that guns, baseball bats, your fists, or maybe, just maybe, a shovel.

One young man who goes by the name of Darenzo has just had his world altered into one that is now the focal point of some sort of experiment.

Just at the end of his shift at the skip site, a worldwide announcement was made, that not only changed Darenzo's life, but also the lives of all of the Earth's inhabitants.

Can Darenzo survive and thrive in this changed world? Or will his growing madness best him? The answers to these questions can only be revealed with time.

[Guaranteed 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies]

Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull.

Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time?

Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours.

Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow?

I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.'

I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer?

[Guaranteed 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies]

A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated.

The Magic Of Science

The Magic Of Science
HIATUS

When humanity had advanced their technology to such a level that they accidentally destroyed themselves, just before the planet collapsed, the two smartest people came up with a plan.

The last survivor of Earth, Titus, was sent to space as a baby, the only hope left for humanity. Their son.

Little did they know that twenty years later, he'd start a journey that would put their past accomplishments to shame.

This is a tale about Titus's pursuit of science as he tries his best to come to terms with his new life on a planet pulled straight out of a fantasy novel.

AN: This is my attempt at first person and sci-fi while also attempting some comedy, maybe, we'll see how it goes.

If given the choice to be able to travel through time upon your death, many people would immediately jump at such an opportunity. However, there is one person, a hero, who detests this power. If only he could die, if only he could end the cycle, if only he could travel back to the time he got his power and never get it in the first place, if only he didn't have things that were worth enduring this torment for.

If only I wasn't the one chosen to burden such an unfair destiny.

AN: So, this is gonna be my first try using a different writing style. I usually write in the third person (I think?) like with The Lone Wanderer, but I'm gonna try the first person with this one.

Also, this is a teaser chapter and a placeholder. Don't expect regular updates at all since I'm focusing on my current main novel, The Lone Wanderer.

Hello, You're Through To Hades, How Can I Help You Today?

Hello, You're Through To Hades, How Can I Help You Today?
HIATUS

Hades, the God of the underworld, has grown bored.

This was only the natural result since he'd been doing nothing except process souls for over a hundred-thousand years. It didn't help that the only person he could socialise with was the occasional Hero or fellow Divine-level being that graced him with their presence.

However, his chance to break this monotony had arrived. Two souls had disappeared from Earth. They didn't go to Olympus nor did they enter the Underworld. This peculiar change was the final nail in the coffin for Hades.

How did the God of Death react to this? Of course, he chose to finally quit his job! Be damned to the responsibilities! ... Nothing bad could happen if he left the throne of The Underworld for only a few decades, right?

Follow Hades as he lives amongst the mortals and tries to enjoy his new lease on life. Hopefully, his absence won't create any unforeseen consequences for Earth... hopefully.
