Zorian is a teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy. He is a driven and irritable young man, consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, whom he resents for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, he has no time for pointless distractions or paying attention to other people's problems. As it happens, time is something he is about to get plenty of. On the eve of the Cyoria's annual summer festival, he is killed and brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take a train to Cyoria. Suddenly trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, Zorian will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery before him. And he does have to unravel it, for the time loop hadn't been made for his sake and dangers lurk everywhere... Repetition is the mother of learning, but Zorian will have to first make sure he survives to try again - in a world of magic, even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill.

If anyone is interested, I have a story-related worldbuilding site that can be found here. I don't update it as often as I should, but there is a fair amount of content there already. It also contains a page with all the fanart, fan translations, audio books and the like - you can reach it directly by clicking this link.

I have a patreon account for those kind people that want to give me money. It also contains info for those who want to donate via paypal.

The story was originally posted on fictionpress, back in 2011. When I reached chapter 91, I started uploading the story to RoyalRoad, one chapter per day. The story will continue to be updated on fictionpress as well as here, and can be reached by clicking on this link if somebody is interested, though at this point there is nothing there that isn't also on RoyalRoad.

The cover you see on the side has been made by a fellow RoyalRoad user Sydorow. Thank you for your time and art skills.

Somnia Online: Fragments (Book 3)

Somnia Online: Fragments (...)

Rip away your masks, your fears, everything that’s holding you back…Discover the class you were born to play.

When Storm Online Entertainment begins taking pre-orders for its virtual full immersion role playing game Somnia Online, Wren can’t wait to start a new adventure and conquer yet another world. But when the game designates her as a mind magic user instead of the healer she habitually plays, Wren’s whole process is thrown into disarray. On top of that, most members of her guild are in the same boat, playing classes slightly different to those they usually embrace. Snagging that top guild game wide slot — just got way harder.

Her class trainer is suspiciously cryptic, her in game skills have eerily far reaching repercussions, and that rival guild they had a run in with games ago has decided to declare war. With hidden abilities triggered by vague quest lines, Wren arms her enchanter Murmur as best she can. But her psionic abilities directly affect not only her mind, but her opponents as well, and temptation becomes an hourly battle.

As intricate quest lines become more dangerous and the NPCs giving them gain powers from the artifacts, Wren begins to wonder just what sort of program is behind the multiple AIs running the world. Their rival guild chomps at their heels, and does everything they can to prevent Wren and FABLE from reaching the endgame first. When the game begins to mesh with reality, Wren struggles to distinguish fact from fiction. If she can’t make the distinction, the whole world will come crashing down.

Book 1 & 2 are live and available on Kindle Unlimited. In order to be on Kindle Unlimited, I have to pull all but 10% from every other platform.

Thus I'll be providing a summary in the next few days of the first two books, and leaving book 3 up for now until it's release in mid November.

Meet Threadbare. He is twelve inches tall, full of fluff, and really, really bad at being a hero. Magically animated and discarded by his maker as a failed experiment, he is saved by a little girl. But she's got problems of her own, and he might not be able to help her.
Fortunately for the little golem, he's quick to find allies, learn skills, gain levels, and survive horrible predicaments. Which is good, because his creator has a whole lot of enemies...

Once Human

Once Human

Kidnapped, infused with an unknown substance and given an orientation on survival statistics and adaptive evolution from a disembodied voice isn't the best way to wake up after a night of drinking. Finding out your dangling in a metal box above, what appears to be, an alien planet that is to be your new home only makes things worse.

With no answers, a plethora of mental health issues, that might just give him an edge if they don't get him killed first, and a strong aversion to being told what to do, a hapless human is deposited onto the Planet Evo with a single mission. Survive.

Fiction will contain strong language, gore, sexual content and scenes/concepts that may be traumatising. Read at your own risk.

Real Fantasy Online. The flagship product for the latest generation neural-interface headset. Touting: "The Best NPC AIs", "Better than Life Realism" and "Total Immersion", RFO promises to be a virtual world like no other. But when the line between one's real self and one's digital identity becomes blurred, and the "Gods" have their own agenda, who is the player, and which is the game?

Marcus has played any number of VR games, beta-tested dangerous and unstable systems and lived to tell the tale. He even has a certain amount of fame and influence within...certain circles. He usually disdains the idea of pre-orders and their respective "perks" as blatent commerical exploitation, but this time the bonus is too tempting to pass up. The ability to craft your character's backstory and have it integrated into the game's lore is enough for him to sign up for the Early Access program. He isn't interested in being all-powerful. Frankly, he's been there and done that enough to be bored of the whole thing. Instead, he opts to make a character purely for the purpose of having fun. Things aren't quite what they seem however, and his "backstory" and character class have implications he never would have imagined.

Author Note: First time posting a story online, and I'd appreciate any feedback. Updates may be slow, as each "chapter" will likely be in the 10,000 word range and I tend to revise several times before being (tentatively) satisfied. If people seem to like this I'll try to establish a regular post schedule.

An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated earth into its system. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true like living out a dream.

For Daniel, however, it's closer to a nightmare.

He's in a bit of a predicament. Cracks in our dimensional fabric have unleashed terrifying beasts from dark, abyssal places. Schema organizes these cracks into dungeons, giving the native species of the planet a chance to fight back. Daniel finds himself trapped in one of these dungeons. Not long after, he discovers there's only one way out.

Kill or be killed.

This is a lit-RPG inspired by the Fallout series of games and the Legend of Randidly Ghosthound.

Schedule: 15,000 words(50 pages) a week, or five chapters. Working towards a daily schedule though.

There are a thousand ways to die in the desert-desperate outlaws, deadly predators, murderous elements, and betrayal. . .

Kaitar Besh, a veteran scout as legendary for his cynicism as his skills, is ordered to brave the deadly Shy'war-Anquai desert one last time. Escorting Leigh Enderi-a greenhorn Enforcer with a reputation as shady as his own-he soon realizes the ghosts of his past have come to haunt more than his nightmares.

When the mission breaks down in the wake of bitter hatred and mistrust, even Kaitar's fabled talent may not be enough to bring them home again. Stranded in the red wasteland without contact, food, or water, they uncover a betrayal that could bring all they hold dear crumbling to the dust. . . and tear down the wall of lies surrounding them.

Salt in the Water is the first book in the "A Lesser Dark" series, a sci-fi/fantasy "grimdark" western that crosses several genres. The book includes explicit violence, strong language, and mature themes.

The Wandering Inn updates every Tuesday and Saturday on the main website. Join the discussion there.

An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, or a place to find adventures, a starting ground for quests and legends.

In this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her.

But an inn is what she found, and so that’s what she becomes. An innkeeper who serves drinks to heroes and monsters–

Actually, mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

This is the story of the Wandering Inn.

Kade Wilson is a retired Cop and an competitive Gamer. For the last 4.5 years he has held the number #1 spot on the VR World Games List. And while he did not win his last championship game he struck it rich. And to top it all off he is approached to be one of 500k hand-selected beta testers for an entirely new kind of game, an offer that he is incapable of refusing.

This is a work in progress and largely unedited. There shouldn't be too many spelling and grammar mistakes in there but then again, I am just the writer... Bear with me or contact me if you find something that is just too bad for you.

You will find logic holes in this story. Moments where the behavior or decision making process of the chars doesn't seem to fit, where stats seem off, where space ships don't behave correctly or whatever. If you do, please shoot me a message so I can write them down and fix them. There is one thing I want to point out though. And that is that I chose to place this story in a LitRPG and game universe so it doesn't have to be 100% scientifically correct. Also: Clarke's 3rd law!
