Alexander North is just a second lieutenant in the Terran Empire’s military until the apocalypse spreads throughout the universe on the back of an endless blizzard and everything begins to change.

No longer can people use guns; no longer can they use electricity; and no longer can they use fire.
But the worst of it is from the radiation filled shards flying through the storm that mutate any creature they enter, turning them into mindless monsters whose natural instinct is to kill.

How will Alex cope with his newfound changes as the only infected soldier in his base to not fully turn into a monster?
Will he die to the other monsters? To the soldiers?
Or will he thrive?

There have been a lot of edits since the reviews currently on the story were left. These edits include but are not limited to changing the dialogue to feel more military, and changing some of the actions in the story to be less informal.

What not to expect: There will be no sexual content or harem.

The military structure in the Terran Empire is not based on our modern world. It is fiction and therefore does not follow the customs of the US military. Furthermore, this is not a story within the future of our universe. Earth does not exist in this story.

The contents warnings are there to give me room to write and might not be included.
The current content warnings that are included in the story are gore and profanity.

The world is in ruins.
