Granted, I'm just going off the first chapter, so my score is bound to change. Overall, I'd say it's a simple start, but I do enjoy how there are several elements in the story to make things seem a tad off. Furthermore, since it is just the start, I can see it going in several directions depending on what the crux of the mystery is. Main reason why it's not higher is just that it doesn't really wow me, seeming just a bit above average with the mystery development. That being said, I do look forward to seeing how it turns out.
