    1. Re: Happy New Year to Everyone!

Im late but happy new year guys! Let this be the year with minutely less BS.

    2. Re: What's your favorite font?

Verdana is oddly alluring to me and I would have it no other way. Bro. Same. I dunno why. It just speaks to my soul.

    3. Re: Am I irrational for really hating the word '"had"?

I use "had' to introduce flashback.  Ofc, if you use "was" and "had" everywhere - you end up telling your story. It's how you use it.

    4. Re: The [Royal Road Community Magazine] Contest

*flails*  I totally forgot about this! Thanks for the PM reminder. Ahhhhh I'm already behind lol - I have to quick plot this.  (Hear the cries of my other story readers asking to focus on my one (...)

    5. Re: How did you deal with your first 0.5 rating?

I tell myself I won't be affected by 0.5 Sees a 0.5 Doubt. Then take a deep breath.  Cry while writing.

    6. Re: Question about Rising Stars

Problem is, I can’t do the snippets anymore. Not sure why. You highlight it and then click on the pop up that says "Quote" to do pieces. Okay but like I didnt know that. So that's really good to (...)

    7. Re: Question about Rising Stars

ye, just write. that I fear is the only true way. Let me tell you something that happened a few days ago. I got so stuck on a single scene that it took me 2 hours to write 200 words. That is 10 (...)

    8. Re: Question about Rising Stars

Functionally, no. I know you had asked about how to edit old work recently (and I think some people gave some not-wrong but also short-sighted advice.) Total rewrites with a brand new fiction (...)

    11. Question about Rising Stars

During Wriathon I managed to go on Rising Star. Still don't know how - but I did (yay!) My question is - can a story go on Rising Star twice?  I feel a bit regretful that my story went on Rising (...)

    12. Re: Revising chapters posted from wriathon (noob writer seeking answers - I mean, asking for a friend)

I entered 2 books in Writathon. Both of which are over the halfway point as of the end of the event.  The plan is: Finish Book 1 for each story Completely edit each book in each one's entirety, (...)

    14. Re: Revising chapters posted from wriathon (noob writer seeking answers - I mean, asking for a friend)

If it is a brand new story, you have the option to consider your writeathon chapters your "very rough first draft" and rewrite them as a new fiction (with posted notes on the old one that you are (...)

    15. Re: Revising chapters posted from wriathon (noob writer seeking answers - I mean, asking for a friend)

@ Haust - I implore you. If you do go back and read it, please wait until the revision as I will die from the embarrassment of butchering the English language.  Fear not, for English is my second (...)

    16. Re: Revising chapters posted from wriathon (noob writer seeking answers - I mean, asking for a friend)

Everyone, thank you so much for all of your comments.  I actually considered the pros and cons - and I really don't want to lose my current reader base. This is my first story and I want to give it (...)

    18. Re: Revising chapters posted from wriathon (noob writer seeking answers - I mean, asking for a friend)

If your goal is to build up a reader base for your story then editing the already existing chapters is probably fine, the amount of people that have "nope'd out" is probably proportionally small in comparison (...)

    19. Revising chapters posted from wriathon (noob writer seeking answers - I mean, asking for a friend)

In case I haven't paraded enough that I've joined wriathon - I've joined wriathon (lol).  At first it was fun until I realized writing your first story (with minimal writing experience) and posting (...)

    20. Re: When would you give up?

I would give up only after I spent 10,000 hours of writing and write 2 million words AND if I show no signs of improvement after all of that.
