    1. Re: Writer looking to read

Hey everyone,  I started writing on the site a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed doing so. I realized though that I haven't read anything by other people and want to give a shot to contribute more (...)

    2. Re: Looking for Non-Human Mc/Reincarnation into Non-Human

My story is about a sentient suit of armor/mimic, that may interest you. Links in the signature.

    3. Re: How would you fair if you are thrown into your story?

I'd live. It's just a pretty standard high fantasy DnD setting. I'd move to a city and try to find a trade, live a quiet life, and do literally everything in my power to marry a lady barbarian. You know, (...)

    4. Re: How to keep your motivation strong?

I would say that one thing to remember is that you don't need to write your story from the beginning. It may help to just write some of the scenes you're most excited about as a way to start getting pen (...)

    5. Re: Ask the Editor

Hello, I was just hoping to get you opinion of my first chapter and blurb. My story "Armor" is linked in my signature. This is very intriguing. Your prose is good enough that I'd have to do specific (...)

    7. Re: Eldritch Monster Design Brainstorming

I think something deceptively beautiful would be a fun choice. Maybe a flowing liquid with a mirror like sheen or a swirling mass of glowing orbs acting like wil-o-wisps. Curiosity and awe turning to fear (...)

    8. Re: What is the most unlikeable character you have ever written?

For me it's any character that's a self insert.

    9. Re: Getting Comments And When To Take Them Seriously?

Personally, I take all criticism as jealous lies and all praise as absolute truth.

    10. Re: Restrictions You Put in Place in Your Story

My MC is a monster protagonist that needs to keep what he is hidden and that creates a lot of easy ways to limit what he can do.  On top of that he also only recently gained sentience and so isn't even (...)

    11. Re: Free First Chapter Feedback!

It's really nice of you to do this kind of thing. I appreciate how honest you are with people's works. Armor Ch: 1   Would keep reading.    Generally speaking, it's a pretty fun and light hearted (...)

    12. Re: Non human Mc who isn't reincarnated and has the mindset of whatever it is.

My MC is a sentient suit of armor that eats people. His thought processes are affected by the people he eats though so it may not be a perfect fit.

    13. Re: What is your favorite POV?

I like to read both and I like to write 1st person for monster or 'other' characters and 3rd person for more average joe type characters.  I feel like extra insight into an inhuman character has more value (...)

    15. Re: Describe your villain but as if their own mother was doing it

I won't even introduce the concept of my greater scope villain for another two chapters, but... "He's given me thousands of grandchildren, I couldn't be happier."

    16. Re: Alternate "fantasy style" spellings

I think that's enough of a positive consensus for me to keep doing it. Though I will never spell aluminum aluminium. Thank you noble sers!

    17. Re: June Thread - Promote your Story

A living suit of armor exists only to be donned by unwary adventurers so that he may eat them and lead their parties to ruin, but his most recent meal left him with something unexpected... *Updates (...)

    18. Re: Alternate "fantasy style" spellings

(I realized I posted this in the wrong sub forum) I was just wondering what people's opinions were about changing spellings of common words to give your story more of a fantastical vibe. In the most (...)

    19. Re: Sad/tragic backstories

A bard that lost his voice or a pianist with a broken hand. Maybe a character going slowly blind. I personally don't love the dead family trope or fridging so I try to focus on life just being generally (...)

    20. Re: What is the best fight scene you have ever read?

I can't recall any specific fight scenes, but I will say that I love when sounds, tastes and smells are mixed in to fight scenes by a writer. The crack of bones, the smell of a man's bowels being spilled, (...)
