    1. Re: My review was deleted for rule 3.3

I wish people did not get so up-in-arms over the term “racist.” Most of us are, to a degree, due to cultural conditioning. And we can never truly unlearn that shit until we look it in the eye, recognize (...)

    2. Re: 🦆🐰Sunday Snippets 03/07 | WEEK 49 - The Royal Road Magazine!🦦🐧

My RR Magazine contest entry is called Stonesong, and here’s my snippet (both of the art and of the writing) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52179456347_1d969bfeb9.jpg It was every bit as big (...)

    3. Re: Who's stories end up better? Pancers or plotters?

Eeeer I think there are really good books that are plotted and really good ones that are pantsed, and that different authors benefit from different methods.

    4. Re: The Most Appealing Concept For a Story

Good grief, I have so many favorite concepts that I'd like to convince a writer to adopt... I love the concept of a relatively normal person choosing to become either a dungeon core or a part-animal (...)

    5. Re: Oops! All Orphans! Or why you should let your protagonist have families.

Families and family dynamics can be a lot of fun to write. I’m just a little worried about when and if my mom ever decides to read my books, because I’ve made mother figures into villains more than once (...)

    6. Re: What is your thinking style?

Vivid imagery + two separate thought streams: -The immediate thought stream, encompassing my instinctive, unfiltered-by-reason reactions to things, my feelings and subjective opinions. This thought (...)

    10. Re: Promote your story by telling us a bit about the setting.

I’ll just go with my latest story, Stonesong. It has two primary settings so far: The Rooted Sea - A vast and ancient rainforest of towering trees. Treekrakes—giant tentacled monsters with bark for (...)

    15. Re: Cover picture of your Novel

I make mine myself, mostly with art I draw in Procreate or Photoshop, sometimes with photo assets I’ve licensed and then incorporated into the design, again using Photoshop

    16. Re: No wonder Brandon Sanderson can't write fantasy!!!!!

Show me on the doll where the Brandon Sanderson hurt you lol And you know, it’s a shame that I get so focused on the actual story when I write stories. Maybe I should start working my real-world gripes (...)

    17. Re: No wonder Brandon Sanderson can't write fantasy!!!!!

Sanderson is a far better author than Tolkien (and also most definitely a fantasy writer) All his characters have regression arcs, like they're recovering crack addicts or something. I found this tiresome (...)

    18. Re: No wonder Brandon Sanderson can't write fantasy!!!!!

Oh oh! While we're stating opinions as facts, here's mine: Sanderson is a far better author than Tolkien (and also most definitely a fantasy writer)
