    1. Re: Is the use of multiple question and/or exclaimation marks bad writing practice?

Yes, if you need a double question mark or exclamation to emphasize, then whatever you're saying might not be that important anyway; consider reworking the sentence then? Or, y'know, just trust your reader (...)

    2. Re: How fast writer are you?

Depends, if I'm really into a scene or chapter I can get 2500 down in two hours. Normally? The average chapter I write takes 4 hours.

    3. Re: Curious to try out a Royal Road Ad, does anyone have any experience?

Wow so much great info. Seems like ads don't necessarily generate good results, which is actually quite unfortunate for both authors and supporting RR as a platform. Not sure what the solution would (...)

    4. Re: Curious to try out a Royal Road Ad, does anyone have any experience?

I've heard other authors say it improves visibility but might be liable for some people review bombing your fiction. It seemed unclear if that was just due to increasied exposure, or because people (...)

    5. Re: WHAT KIND OF READERS DO YOU HAVE ?

Was it necessary to put the title in all caps?

    6. Re: What was the book that make you want to write?

The Great Gatsby, I wasn't sure why a lot of people recommended it, I saw the movie before I read the book and the movie really captured me. Then I read the book and was completely blown away. Fitzgerald (...)

    7. Re: Odd Reader Quirks?

Ummm...My pet peeve is stories with synopsis titles. "A Boy Who Has Been Reincarnated Twice Spends Peacefully as an S-Rank Adventurer, ~ I who was a Sage and a Hero of Previous World, Will Live in Peacefullness (...)

    8. Re: I feel like the star rating is inflated

"Wait, the star rating is inflated?" :DrakanGlasses: "Always has been," Cocks gun

    9. Re: Isn't it weird how a later chapter will have more views than one that came before it?

I think some of it is the case, and also it depends on the time zone you posted said chapters. Some of mine do much better in one and kinda flop in another, but that's fine as I spread out my posting to (...)

    10. Re: Taking Holidays

I usually like to avoid an issue like this by having something scheduled in advance, but if you don't got it then there's nothing wrong with an author's note.

    11. Re: I feel like the star rating is inflated

They've always been overrated, and also there's a pressure to give a "high" rating otherwise anything below a 4 the author assumes you're calling the story trash.

    12. Re: What's the typical number of followers/readers for a story?

Honestly, if you need a Beta reader in regards to the quality of your fiction, I would hope your intentions lie in official publishing on the level of a book deal or self-pubbing the thing yourself somewhere (...)

    13. Re: Questions about writing a character's personal thoughs

Does this mean there is no universal standard for writing internal thoughts? Bonus question, is it ok to use the 'x' for sarcasm? Example: "The VirtualBoy was a 'good' console, according to (...)

    14. Re: Where do you lie on the description scale?

3 or 4, people overestimate how much description is really needed. Because most of the time, people are filling in the image with their own. What makes a scene more vivid is allowing the reader to make (...)

    15. Re: Writers averages on this platform

      1. For my two weeks I posted nearly every day, sometimes double posts to catch people who didn't want to wait for a cliffhanger. After that I slowed down to maintain quality and my sanity. I very much (...)

    17. Re: Question: Can I use names like Nicola Tesla in my story?

No, as the Tesla family will kick down your door, drag you out of the house and hook you up to an electric chair. As you're cooking Nikola Tesla's ghost is right next to you laughing at how dare someone (...)

    18. Re: Trying to get that last trending push, looking for reviews.

I'll get to all of you guys, good thing is I'm on my day off so I'll spend time looking at your stories, thanks!

    19. Re: Trying to get that last trending push, looking for reviews.

Personally I don't like doing this, but I don't want to miss an opportunity. I think I need a small bit more of stars to hit the page, and I'll be doing a call for some reviews if you guys want to swap (...)
