Jack Driver gets yanked from his life on earth and thrown into a unique world of Serres. He starts with an exceptional arsenal of abilities that will grow rapidly in power. And it’s a good thing that Jack is more than just a human, because the societies on Serres are harsh. A number on citizens’ hands divides them, gauges their power. It dictates their worth and standing.

Jack will need all the courage he has to seek justice for the downtrodden, and to make a fair coin in the process.

Overleveled: Arrival in a New World

Overleveled: Arrival (...)
by JL Vincent
175 pages

When an aimless guy dies making a noble sacrifice, he is presented with a chance to live life better in a new world. However, due to some godly negligence and terrible luck, his arrival does not go as planned. Having acquired overwhelming power, he has to confront a familiar question. How should I live my life?

This story is heavily influenced by Japanese light novels in regards to fast progression, overpowered protagonist, and hidden protagonist tropes.

As a heads up, this story is intended to be, above all else, fun. It does not take itself too seriously. My goal is to share my love of the genre tropes to make you smile and laugh.

Every other day proved to be far too optimistic. I am planning for updates Tuesdays and Fridays between 8:45 and 9:00 AM.

Since this has become something of a minor issue, if you see this story anywhere other than royal road or scribblehub, I didn't post it. Please consider going to my patreon and supporting my work directly!

Deadman (A Post-Apoc Litrpg)

Deadman (A Post-Apoc (...)
by Seersucker
520 pages

Even after the bombs fell, even after countries unleashed weapons beyond imagining on one another, even after lawlessness became the norm, people still expect their mail.

As a deadman, I'm uniquely suited to deliver it. Rads don't bother me, and people who try to hurt me typically wind up dead. Sure, humans may not like dealing with a face like mine, but hey, you can't beat my express rates.

A dystopian litrpg in the vein of Fallout and The Postman

Reais, a fractured abyss ruled by thousands of contesting Demon Lords no stranger to chaos happens to be the birth place of a new chaos, a new threat.

Punished for disbelief in a mortal life, a soul curses Deities for its unfair imprisonment and psychological torture. Set free by witless demons, this soul sees an opportunity for vengeance.

Do these Deities see this new chaos? Do they fear the incoming reprisals? Do they have the strength to stop this soul? Do they have the strength to resist the incursion, the subjugation, and annihilation?

The answer is simply, Nil.

A Sinner's Eden

A Sinner's Eden
by Andur
1.1k pages

The Earth of the future is united under a single government, but not all things are well. The shape of the playing field may be changed, but the powerful still rule the weak.
And those who do not conform with the rest of society are exiled to another world. A world that not even the technology of the future managed to tame.
It should have been humanity's New World but ended up as nothing more than a penal colony. A place where the exiled are sent to die.

Motivated by revenge, Magnus sets out on a quest to bring his own justice to his enemies. For that purpose, he is willing to go further than most others.
But then he learns that if he truly wishes to change things, he can only find his answers beyond the gate.

Having lived most of her life as an exile, Astra is a woman of few interests aside from survival and climbing the ranks of her clan.
To achieve those goals, she certainly won't be squeamish when a chance literally falls into her lap, or will she?

I am trying to go with a survival/medieval setting in this one. People from a technologically advanced society are thrown into a world where they can't maintain their tech. They are forced to rely on medieval technology where they have to make do with the limited resources they have and what little of their old technology is still working. Their gene manipulation allows them to have something akin to superpowers, but that doesn't help much against the monsters of their new world. Not sure yet whether sufficiently advanced technology will be discovered later on to count as magic.

Author's Comment:

I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently, I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur)

Book 1 is now available on KindleKindle Unlimited, paperback, & Audible.

Tell your friends! Your family! Strangers! Enemies! Meeting someone new?  Break the ice by asking them "Have you read Wizard's Tower?"!

Book 2 is out on Amazon too!  https://www.amazon.com/Wizards-Tower-2-LitRPG-Adventure-ebook/dp/B09YHQPX1P

The humans call me Nemon Fargus.  They call me wizard, and [Elementalist] and [Enchanter].  They call me teacher.  They call me adventurer.

But I don't care.  Not anymore.  For more than a hundred and fifty years I've served the Kingdom of Sena.  Through four Kings and a Queen.  Two wars and a rebellion.  I've founded and taught at a magic school.  I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks.

But now?  Now, the one close friend I had left has passed.  So, I'm done with their politics and their economics.  The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf.  Now, I'm looking for a refuge, a place that can well and truly be my own.  Away from the growing cities and the bustling markets, away from the pointless wars, away from the eager students and the arrogant adventurers.  It's too much.

I'm seeking the peaceful life of a wizard in his tower, studying magic to advance my spellcraft.  We'll see if that happens.

*synopsis is book 1 / arc 1

Author's housekeeping:

This story is a rough draft.  Feel free to point out errors, grammatical, spelling, plot, etc.

This is a slow burn novel, but will only ever be told from one POV.  (Exception: rare interlude chapters will be told from a different pov, but won't impact storyline).

How well this story is received by readers here will determine if I continue writing.

NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction.

If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review!

This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change.

Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story.

To give some context on the setting:

Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters.

While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.

Knight and Smith

Secrets once thought lost are coming to light...

Orin, a young thief turned mercenary, is returning to his home for the first time in four years. Orin wants nothing more than to reconnect with his family and settle down in the city he loves, but fate is fickle and has another destiny in mind for the swordsman.

Now bound to the Princess of the Realm in ways he doesn't fully understand, Orin finds himself thrust into the world of Nobility, where no one can be truly trusted and his friends are few and far between.

To ensure his survival, and that of the entire Kingdom, Orin must learn to harness the power of a Knight and work with the Princess Elora to protect those they both love, all while dealing with psychotic Knights, a mad King and Elora's own protectors.

Well, if nothing else, I'm sure it will be an adventure.

This is one of the ideas I've been working on for a while and wanted to see how far I can go with it.

There's nothing really original here, just something fun I wanted to explore a bit more.

Chapters will be posted once a week on Sundays.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you enjoy Knight and Smith!

Sylver Seeker

Sylver Seeker
by Kennit Kenway

After fulfilling the duty all arch necromancers are tasked with, Sylver Sezari was not expecting to ever wake up again.

But he did.

And after crawling his way back into the land of the living, he’s alive once again. In a strange land, a strange time, and with a strange floating screen in front of his new face.

Either through plan or chance, he’s alive again, and planning to enjoy himself to his heart's content.

-The story isn’t grimdark, but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows either. There will be lighthearted and positive moments, as well as some sad ones. That being said, it’s a whole lot more light than dark.
-This is a LITRPG story.

Chapters are published every 2 days at 21:00 GMT.

Author’s note:
-It can get very GORY. I’m somewhat desensitized to gore and violence. So while the story isn’t full of gore for the sake of gore, it can get a little too descriptive.
-The MC is a necromancer, so corpses and decay, and all the things that come with it, will be mentioned from time to time.
-I’m a huge fan of Egyptian, Slavic, and Greek mythology, so expect quite a bit of that. That said, so much is altered, you’ll be hard-pressed to guess how exactly it is being used.
-Despite being ‘immortal’ the MC can die. In the event he does, the story doesn’t end, simply time skips forward. Which in some cases is going to be worse than just dying.
-I love plot twists, as much as I love red herrings and Chekhov guns. Deus Ex Machina’s not so much.
