My Psychotic Ghost Girlfriend an Isekai Experiment Gone Wrong

My Psychotic Ghost Girlfriend an Isekai Experiment Gone Wrong

Transported to another world, our hero must thwart the evil demon lord where levels rule all-

Cut!

This isn’t some damn generic isekai!

But if we don’t market it as one, nobody will read it. Look man, isekai to web novels are what thots are to twitch. If you’re not doing isekai, you may as well just jump off a cliff, die, and pray to all the gods above that you reincarnate as a beautiful cat girl. Isekai is like a slice of humble American Pie. It’s like the child you never wanted, but after you stuck your dick in that glorious isekai pie once, you immediately realized you could never pull out again or ever be satisfied with anything else except for that hot garbage.

I know, I get it, the masses demand le isekai, but we can’t sell out.

Look man, just put isekai in the title and see if it makes a difference. Just call it a social experiment or some BS.

This was a summary of my life consultation with the god/devil-like voice in my head trying to tempt and make me fall to the dark side.

I fell... and died.

At least... I believed that was the case.

When I regained awareness, I tried to make heads or tails of the situation. I discovered I was still inside my apartment after I'd supposedly fallen to my death. When I turned around amidst the eerie silence of my appartment, what awaited directly behind me was something I never expected.

Whisked away, caught up in a heated confrontation, I fled for my life and escaped to a deserted island... only, I was not quite alone on this island. Someone... or something was there with me. A monster? A ghost? Perhaps both? Who knew? I sure as hell clearly didn't anymore.

Initially I was entranced by nature when I first arrived, but I quickly learned first hand just how scary nature truly was. Be it the denizens of forests, deserts, or seas; or the solidarity of icy mountains or the violent wrath of raging volcanoes, untold horrors unexpectedly arose at every turn.

The only thing I knew was, I could only do my best to survive on this island, both through the beauty... and horrors of the natural world.

I knew from the start that this island was far from a simple one. It was a deserted island with many things you’d never expect to find all in one place. One thing in particular, so useful, you might even think that nature was no longer a threat; it’s a real shame you’d be completely wrong to make that assumption.

On this strange island where things could hit the fan from one minute to the next, it was even more so the case here, where a single moment of carelessness could result in losing everything.

Nature, since time immemorial, fostered some of the world's most beautiful phenomenon; be it man or woman alike, at one point in their short lives, they have been enchanted by its beauty. At least... it should be that way.

Unfortunately, for poor saps like me... nature was among the most terrifying, incomprehensible things in the world. In this place that retained both beauty and horror intricately intertwined into a single package, I knew my fate from here on was an uncertain one.

With every beauty comes an associated danger.

This one line was the perfect line to summarize everything I'd ever learned in my life.

I fell... and died.

At least... I believed that was the case.

While I tried to make heads or tails of situation, a voice called out to me from behind. Deep down, I knew exactly what awaited me the instant I matched a face to that oh so familliar voice in my head. I was sentenced to hell the moment I heard it, I was fully aware of that fact. It was someone far worse than even the devil. In fact, I wished it was someone as kind as the devil. I wouldn't mind selling my soul to them if it meant I could get out of this situation.

Abducted, I found myself in a hospital. It could have been a hospital in any other city, but it had to be that city. One at the epicenter of the outbreak to a novel, highly contagious, virus that could potentially push systems across the globe to the brink of collapse. Trapped amidst this chaos, I did what little I could to contribute despite my own precarious circumstances.

It was always at the back of my mind though, was I really helping at all in this crisis, or was I only making things worse? I didn't have an answer for that.

Will I be able to survive through the turbulent times in a crippled medical system, dead center in the eye of the storm? Will I really be able to shoulder the countless moral dilemmas that comes with working here, or will I be crushed, broken, and eventually lose my mind in the process?

The medical world... it could be both merciful and ruthless. Like every coin had two sides, it too had such a great divide. Oftentimes, the tales told recounted the lives it saved and pushed a certain narrative, but what about when the system had actually failed, and failed catastrophically at that?

What about the dark underside, not on full display beneath the light of day? The side I knew of all too well, the side that thrived amidst the darkness, reliant on human greed, exploiting the system all while remaining unexposed to the eyes of the general public? On this hidden side where lives were cruelly ended in the name of profit, would I, or anyone who fell pray to it, really make it out alive in one piece?

"Ah, how I wish I could be summoned to another world."

I’d always thought of such a naive wish of escapism would never be granted. However, shit happened and I was somehow summoned.

However, in some strange twist of fate, I was no longer needed and disposed of, but that’s okay because I didn’t want to be a summoned hero to begin with. My new beginning may have been abruptly cut short, but even so, that is fine. There is a path I’m much more interested in.

Mwuhahaha!

Cough cough cough.

Though, my sinister laugh may still need some practice.

I was Summoned as a Hero , but I Became the Demond Lord Instead Volume 1 Word Count: 108K Including Volume Exclusive Content Available on Amazon

Edit: If you don’t get the timeline that’s because the rate at which time flows in different worlds are not equal. In addition, timelines do not neccesarily run parallel to each other, they may cascade such that when summoned to another world you may get summoned from a different reference frame in the timeline of another world’s with respect to your own.

Scientific constants can change from one plane to the next. The natural laws that govern each world is not necessarily the same across them all. Some may display similarities, while others may be the complete opposite where rather than aging forwards you actually age in reverse. Newborns could be born elderly and withered, but when they are born into the world, their body regresses towards death in reverse.
