Jiran’s people have developed amazing magic, skills, and techniques to fight off the never ending hordes of beasts that press in from all sides. Yet they lack the knowledge to use them to their full effect. 

Perhaps memories of a kinder world may be the difference between life and death, the gulf between insignificance and greatness. Or perhaps those memories will bring their annihilation all the sooner, for Madra is not a kind world. 

However, with the right friends and knowledge, anything is possible.

Author's note - As a reader I love realistic stories and characters who don’t shatter my immersion. Show don't tell, narration. Adequate details to see the world, but not enough to quell my imagination. Magic systems that make sense, and no hand-holding to keep the mystery alive. So expect to find all that here. 

Despite the sometimes horror of a cruel world, this is a light-hearted adventure that presents a cast of characters that I hope you find as enjoyable to read as I found to write.

This is Perry's third world, or fourth if you count Earth. In the first, there was Richter, a brilliant scientist who gave Perry a working suit of power armor before dying to an attack by an adversary that seemed to come from nowhere. In the second world, he became a knight fighting in a war against a callous enemy. There are others like him, thresholders, always in opposition, and it's becoming clear to Perry that this is going to be his way of life, hopping from world to world. Now he finds himself in a place that's doing its best impression of Victorian London with the serial numbers filed off, with a new enemy that will test all the knowledge and power he's accumulated so far.

In a world of superheroes, Milly awakens her power as a speedster but finds herself slowly drifting away from everyone due to her new perception of time when it turns out that her superspeed doesn’t come with an off-switch.

At the start of high school, Milly is excited to finally gain some much-wanted independence by enrolling at Arkwright Academy, an all-girls boarding school far away from her childhood home. Once there, she'll have to deal with new friends, feelings, superheroes/villains, mysteries, and most of all her own power threatening to alienate her from everything else.

What to expect:
After a brief flashforward to get a feel for Milly's power once she awakens it, we'll start the story at the beginning of the school year.

The story will involve: Poorly supervised teens, exploration of superpowers, cute lesbian/yuri romance, superheroics, and struggle.
