How the weak live

http://royalroadl.com/fiction/14752/how-the-weak-live

At chapter 12 rn, frequent updates.

This one is grim/dark fantasy world turns LitRPG when "the culling" starts. Suddenly people have status, abilities and levels.
The author calls it the LitRPG equivalent of dark souls, so it wil be no easy journey. Style and grammar is good. Action scenes can be a bit messy/hard to follow, but very decent. Characters are great though, a few have been introduced and they do have depth.
What really go me to trust this fiction are the authors oaths:

THE 7 REALLY IMPORTANT OATHS

1)Clichés shall be avoided like the cancerous tumors they are.
2)The world shall not spread its pink butt cheeks for the main character’s convenience.
3)No character shall be thinner than one slice of white American cheese.
4)No female character shall serve to highlight how overpowered and fabulous the main character is.
5)No villain shall serve to highlight how overpowered and fabulous the main characters are.
6)Grammar laws shall be upheld sometimes.
7)I, the author, swear not to be a  prick.

Wings of Sorrow

This one is dark and the MCs name, Grim, fits it just fine. So good, long chapters, probably super fast releases, because it is already completed and edited by the author before posting it here for feedback. It's a realistic (?) fantasy, meaning it's hard not to feal for the characters. Is there good and evil seperated from each other? Probably not. Is the MC a "hero"? Most definitely not. Does it give the feeling of impending tragedy? Oh yes. I want to continue reading and at the same time I'm afraid I'll get too immersed. What a dilemma.

Icyii's 'To This Kingdom Come'.
https://royalroadl.com/fiction/15096/to-this-kingdom-come

It's completed already. It's awesome, though. Incredibly well-written.

God_is_Good's Terminal.
https://royalroadl.com/fiction/14788/terminal

Pretty sad story about a girl who has terminal cancer. Also well-written. This story is not getting half of the audience that it deserves. Please rescue it.

Crowbar's Gaia's Shield.

Liked Horizon Zero: Dawn? This is better than it.

You also might want to mention that you're the author.

Sorry, my bad

I believe you would be better off posting on Shameless Advertising...I mean the Promote your Webnovel thread.

Sorry, I didn't know that it would hit the nerve's of some users.

The "shameless advertising" is not a criticism, it's an inside joke if you happen to be in the Royal Road Legends Discord server. But honestly, I rarely see people proudly praise their own stories as having amazing depth and plotlines.

I just realized that there was a seperate one for advertising later on after I posted this. I'll try to be more mindful next time and think about the possible consequences of my actions.

Love this list, however, it's missing something.

This!

Okay okay, yes, I'm the author. 100%.

I'm assuming self-recommending is okay, since the dude above me did it, and it looks like on page one you say it's alright.

Just let me know if I'm not allowed to self-promote, I'll take this all down. :D

I've already made a thread in the Shameless Whoring section, I was just hoping to self-promote myself here so I can reach a larger audience, and perhaps get some new readers, perhaps a nicely written, respectable review, too.

I will reqoute myself

So far, I have been adhering to a liberal approach. While my intention is a readers for readers approach, an author so far, could self promote if he believes he/she has what it takes. But it is rightly, frowned upon. There is a self promote section, I believed this to be self-explanatory for anyone taking a look at the forum sections and reading my introductionary text in the first post of this thread.

From what I have seen here over the past 12 months, negative feedback in terms of low star ratings, chapter comments and sometimes critical reviews will ensue when selfpromoting lackluster stories.

But I am watching the development. Should I feel that the self-promotion is getting out of hand, quality or quantity wise,
I have several ideas stored. In the end, this here is about newish storys you would recommend others to try because you yourself enjoyed them.

Ah, I understand! Sorry for my misunderstanding Balthazar, consider my self-promotion redacted! I'm a fairly new author and don't want to be targeted for negative reviews if people think I don't have what it takes, it would crush me. :/

If you want to keep me in the thread, that's alright, but it's up to you. I just don't want to trouble anyone.

You have a wonderful day!

If I can shamelessly self-promote, I just finished mine in December.

Sons of a minor noble, Estrios and his brother dream of the glory on the battlefield. When the largest empire of their time sends a great army to invade their lands, they are called upon to stand against overwhelming odds and certain death. Estrios and his brother must survive the march to the coast while being pursued by a relentless rider bearing a golden torc. Failure means witnessing everything that they hold dear being laid to waste by the Elahkarian Empire and their subjects.

*Note: there is no magic in this story*
