Youtube looping

How to embed youtube video:

click on the share tab in your youtube video and copy the shortened link, then paste it into your youtube tag

For those of you who wanted to put youtube videos of music for your reader to enjoy, just replace the youtube tag with youreplay tag and the video will loopforever.

[youreplay]https://youtu.be/7l6FvEmRKFM[/youreplay]

Code:
[youreplay]https://youtu.be/7l6FvEmRKFM[/youreplay]

NOTE: never paste youtube tags into the full view editor, use the quick editor!

Soundcloud embed

First, you need to open notepad, then click on the share button bellow the song, select the embed tab and copy the embed code onto the notepad.

Find the segment that says "/api.soundcloud.com/tracks/" and copy the number at the end. That is the song number.

Then all you need to do is goto your chapter and paste in [soundcloud]-your song number-[/soundcloud] and you're good :)

Here is what a correct replay link looks like, watch carefully as the format is important:
Code:
[youreplay]https://youtu.be/b2b6CFD1ycU[/youreplay]

[youreplay]https://youtu.be/b2b6CFD1ycU[/youreplay]

if you watch it, all youtube videos have an id. On regular youtube, it's found after ?v=
i.e.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2b6CFD1ycU
The ID is b2b6CFD1ycU
In the shortlinks, the Id is the same, only the rest are different: https://youtu.be/b2b6CFD1ycU
if it doesnt work another way, copy the tag from above an replace the ID with your own video.

And no. We don't allow autoplaying videos. Theoretically, it's possible, but it'd be invasive from us and the authors towards the readers.

Yup! tried the suggestion from mangoscribble and, this time, it works like a charm!

quick question, I'm also in another thread talking about legal rights in music, do you know anything about laws in sharing music using this nifty programming tool. I know, I know that I'm a pipsqueak that the lawyers won't really bother me if I added it to my work, but it's nice to know more about legalities.

You embedding the video from youtube or another source is merely a special form of linking. If any copyright holders have an issue with the contents of the video, they will take it up with the video uploader on youtube. You are not the one hosting the data, nor are you claiming it as your own and profiting off of it, thus you are not at fault.

If you instead hosted some mp3s (like commercial music) in a file host/share site like google drive or mediafire and provided an open link anywhere, you could get in trouble. On the other hand, net-label music is entirely free for use, along with other media where explicitly stated. Unless openly stated, assume that any content is copyrighted, because it is by the standard creative content licenses, and cannot be hosted without prior consent of the owner.
