How Many Times a Week Should You Publish?

#1
I'm planning on starting a story on here soon, but I don't know how many times a week I should publish chapters. I've been considering either five or seven times a week, however, I don't know if that's ideal. Is there any consensus on the best number of chapters to publish weekly to gain some traction (not that I expect much).

I'd appreciate any feedback.

First figure out what you can do sustainably. Being able to write a chapter a day is easy in the beginning when you're flush with new project energy and excitement. But then past a certain point the drudgery sets in and it becomes more of a grind. It's far better to set a smaller goal you know you can reliably hit every week than it is to make huge promises and burn yourself out trying to fulfill them. It becomes self-defeating and will also make your readership lose confidence in your reliability. It's better to underpromise and overdeliver, and you can always scale up in the future. Scaling down, not so much.

Now is a good time to start writing and backlogging chapters so you figure out what pace you can manage in the longer term. Plus you'll have plenty to start with for a strong lead once you're ready to submit.

That said, daily is best if you're trying to be competitive, especially with a litRPG. But less active stories can and will succeed, if not to the same level.

It varies depending on your goals, as I understand it.
Right now I'm personally using RR as a sounding board for a rough draft of mine. I kicked off daily, though now I'm putting out chapters 3 times a week, between 2.5-3k a pop, roughly. I'm not necessarily trying to build a big following for a Patreon, though, so I can get away with that. I'm just content with getting some good feedback about what works and what doesn't!
From what I've seen, if your goal is to monetize, daily seems to be the best recommendation, or at least every weekday. It would also be wise to research the popular genres - it appears to me that this means litRPG in particular, and anime/video-game-styled stories. As Erios909 says, in order to keep up a following and keep them entertained enough to donate to you, that means a lot of content. It's essentially a full-time job, so if you're already working, expect to work two for a while.
Good luck, whatever your goals are!

you should publish as many as you can, without hurting the quality or the backlog of your story.
of course that the more you publish the more people will flock to the story, but if its a bad one the won't stay for it ya'know?
good luck m8 cheers

First consistency. You don't want to change your posting schedule. So whatever you decide on, keep that. While you can release bigger batches at the start for RS, make that clear. One thing readers hate more than anything else is inconsistency.

Second, write what you can keep up with. This includes breaks, writer's blocks, holidays. You should never be rushing to finish a chapter the day it has to come out.

Third, have a backlog since writing can ebb and flow. This allows you some buffer in case you have a bad day, or an emergency comes up.

In the end more is better. Other wise you will struggle to rise up. Releasing more chapters is always the best thing you can do, compared to anything else in terms of generating hype for your story. I personally release 2 chapters per day.
