Looking for recommendations for a very specific type of story
#1
Hi guys, I'm looking for stories that have the same feeling of 'ancestry'? like Emperor Domination. I think it got confusing, so I'll try to explain it better: I love all the mystique that exists around the MC's past, the things he did, who he was. Things like being a historical figure and having a lot, a lot of experience. I think it's really cool that feeling that the novel has and I wanted to read more of it.
Similar stories I've found are 'Sylver Seeker', 'Andur' stories, 'In Loki's Honor' seems to have that aspect, but I haven't read it yet because I know it's pretty tragic, 'The Perfect Run' also has that aspect, Apex Predator, and probably others I'm forgetting.
Anyway, none of them had as much impact on me as Emperor Domination (maybe because it was one of the first novels I read). Oh, it's not necessarily an OP mc I'm looking for, just an old, ancestral one, and therefore experienced and marked in the records of history for some reason. Anyway, I hope you can recommend me some stories!
Sorry if my English got bad, I'm not a native speaker :)

Ok, self-promoting, but I explain without spoilers.
From Arc one to arc three, you have a foreshadowing of who MC is. To then force her to relive everything that made her who she is in the present time.
The story is gruesome, and things are not really what they seem.
So in summary yes she is an historical figure that people forgot about and how dangerous she really is.
Give it a try if you want.

The Last Philosopher is a high-fantasy story with heavy-handed attempts at humour.
It revolves around the world of Huom and some of its quirkier inhabitants.
It’s the first book under the subtitle, Nothing is Everything.

Here's "Dead Tired". a story about an ancient Mad Scientist and also a lich wake up after long sleep after killing some gods.

Never Die Twice at the beginning doesn't seem like it fits, but definitely does as the story unfolds.
Forgotten probably counts as well.

Not sure if I quite understand what you’re asking here. Something about a historical figure of a character? If I am following this correctly, then my series could fit that bill. Parallel Hearts series covers how the main became the true enemy. You can call them a historical figure. In the first book, this covers their reawakening. As they draw closer towards it, more becomes aware of their presence and fears them. The second goes back to the beginning, and the third book is the middle. After the trilogy, the main is more on the side. With the stories expanding more overall, while also bringing into awareness of what the lead had done. What they had left behind, the lengths they were willing to go to achieve what they most want.
They basically are a legend, even in the first book. When going in, expect truths within lies and lies within truths. These are not casual reads, but they do become clearer the further you go along.
