It might be hard to see now, but I promise you you'll get more. You're writing a genre the majority of people on this site like, and you've got a fast and consistent upload speed so far. Keep it up and guaranteed you'll find two more readers for every follower that leaves.

Nah, Followers are like ghosts. They come and go, but overall they build up on a story. (Unless you hiatus a story and then bring it back. They don't like that and a number will jump ship at the same time.)

I used to be really sad because every time I posted a chapter I lost one follower, but eventually I realized I had to post anyway and it really didn't matter. 

You'll never know why someone followed and dropped, and it doesn't really matter. It's not personal. Some people will like your story, some won't. And following a story can also be a tool that is used when you find a story in a listing. I often follow stories when I see them on rising stars to remember them, but might not start reading immediately. 
Someone might have liked the premise, but wasn't enjoying it later on. Again, not everyone is going to like your story. Focus on the ones that do.

Keep pushing. The goal should be to write and finish your story. For every person that unfollows there will be a new one to take their place.

I kind of use unfollowers to fuel my drive.

My follower count has been stagnant for the last few weeks. I've been gaining/losing 1 follower every time I post a chapter. I like to think it's actually the same person who just can't decide if they want to read my story or not, lol.

As a reader, I've dropped followed novels before because of stuff going on in my life that made the story unappealing/boring to me. Sometimes over the course of the author writing it people's lives just go through weird ups and downs. Ice also followed novels while drunk, and once sober realize that those novels aren't for me.

So it's not necessarily your fault.

P.S.- Just don't ignore the readers that offer spelling/grammar corrections, those people took time and effort to help you.

I kind of like that system.  Because why would you want to keep someone who does not enjoy your work around?  This way you know what is what.  I have no doubt you will get a ton more if you continue to write.

From my experience, this site has like 3 bots that follows and unfollows based on the frequency of uploads.. .

I hope you're right. It's just hard knowing someone who believed enough in my story to follow it decided to abandon ship so early on. Makes me wonder if my quality is already dipping.

Hey, it seems it was really a good sign. I got a follower after posting the first chapter of my novel, which made me really happy. Then, after posting the second chapterit vanished.

Now I have four.
