I'm an aspiring writer and I'm here based on my friend's recommendation.

I'm currently working on a Fantasy/Romance/Drama series and I can't wait to share it with you! 
My writing is heavy and contains dark elements, so if you're into that sort of thing, buckle up.

Welcome to Royal Road. Sharing your work is a great step in pursuing your writing ambitions. I know many readers here enjoy darker stories so there will be an audience for your work. Once you start posting you can increase your story's visibility by adding a link to it in your signature and posting about it in the Marketing sub-forum. There are tags for things like gore, swearing, and traumatizing content, so, if people are uncomfortable with grimdark stuff they know to avoid it. You can also add notes to the beginning of your chapters to alert readers if there is something that might upset them or make them uncomfortable. I wouldn't stress too much about it.
