To the minority of people who really do think of games as anything less than a perfectly reasonable form of entertainment, i guess congrats being here in a website full of webnovels, clearly a much more justifiable use of your time???
As long as you're productive with what you do. This is a site literally full of productivity.
If you're going to play games, be productive with it. Otherwise you're a loser. Take, like I said, Markiplier for example. Just one example out of thousands.

Yeah but how does having fun and being happy make someone a loser

Because it's virtually no different than doing nothing. If everyone did things to have fun and be happy than many of the services we have today wouldn't exist.

I don't think you've realised that people don't wake up every day with a big smile on their face to make you coffee at Starbucks. Get a job first and you'll understand.

Would you extend the same logic though to people who read books for entertainment? Such as the ones we write? I only ask because if doing something for the sake of having fun makes someone a loser, then wouldn't our readers be losers?

Also, many of the people who work at Starbucks play video games when they're off work.

No I wouldn't. People don't invest 12+ hours of their time in reading a day. It's something that doesn't numb your dopamine levels either. To add to that, reading pretty much only has benefits.

And I've already said that this is aimed towards the jobless. I'm fully aware that games even have 18+ age ratings. Otherwise, if you're not productive with it, you're a loser.

To be fair, I've gone on reading binges that lasted longer than that, but I can't speak for anyone else. I guess I personally am just reticent to label people "losers" for having a hobby and enjoying it. Life is very short, and if people have the ability to do something they love, I don't see the problem with it. I just feel personally that it's very unkind to label people a loser for enjoying gaming--or any hobby, really.

Also I'm pretty sure that Darksouls did more for my work ethic than all my years in grade school put together. It's pretty dumb to assume games won't teach you anything. It's art, it doesn't have to teach you anything, but that doesn't mean it can't. People who don't like something can just admit that, and move on.

That's sort of what all gamers say when they waste hours of their life on it. Staring at a wall for 12 hours a day can teach you patience, still not very useful.

I can't say I have ever played a game for 12 hours per day.

In fact, a lot of games I pick up only run for 14 hours from start to finish. So it's usually one hour or two per day if I get a chance to do that. Most of the time, I don't. And that's about average for at least women. Men on average play more than women.

I get this is more of a personal opinion based on a stereotype and not really based on fact.

For the millionth time: This opinion is only aimed at jobless gamers who do nothing but play games. This also applies to any jobless person who does nothing but try and boost dopamine through artificial BS like this. Get a fucking job. That simple.

This thread is a shining example of the fact that people respond more to how a thing is said, than what is said. If you want people to care about what your point is, be careful about calling people losers right out the gate.

I don't want people to care about my point. If I lived like that I would be the one sitting on my ass doing nothing.

Gamers with no jobs are losers. Anyone without a job is a loser, but especially people who waste hours upon hours of time artificially inflating dopamine levels and doing nothing for anyone.
