Ok so I'm going to be brutally honest here, If I'm going to write a story, I'll write it the way I want.

If someone is unhappy with the direction of the story that I am passionate and enjoy writing, then I'm sorry but that is your problem

However I do love feedback and I like when people point out some things I have maybe missed. So don't get me wrong, if its genuinely there to help me grow, then thanks you.
Thats about it, just wanted to open a topic of discussion for people, peace boys.

Well, the thing is, readers have rights to voice out too.
And authors have their rights not to listen.

I've ignored a lot of valuable feedbacks about my story too.
The thing is, we do moved on and continue our own journey.
We can't please everyone. Same as when not everyone able to please us.
So just write sincerely and as it goes, readers will come and go.
that's art, not everybody will enjoy what you wrote. but you write them to present a story that you wanted to present.
As simple as that.

unless... you are making your living out of it... then your audiences will be your livelihood.
The is when you need to write to please as much readers as possible. that's a different kind of story.

legit, i felt like this a few times, when people leave shitty reviews after not even reading my blurb and comprehending it.

"i didn't know this would involve feelings"
or
"I ran it through google translate, since I don't speak english, it didn't make sense..."

These are valid criticisms to make, but let's be better about that shall we?

Sometimes, author should not manage their own comments to be healthy. Ahould just say "thank you" and just leave the readers form their own group and say whatever they want to say. I think that helps.

I did read some vocal readers who dislike certain author, saying his writings are too pretentious. But i read the same book, i feel his choice of words and sentence is smart and setting his unique style of his own. Example: reader A rant about author J use of the word "suicidally beauty" makes no sense to describe beauty as suicidal since they do not link. But when i read them i think is smart way to describe "his beauty is to die for".

Another side of the story is when an author may had advantage if they simply let their critics gone wild. Bad publicity can be a publicity itself. I've seen so many times vocal readers trying to mock the works they dislike but ended up helping the author found the readers who geniunely love the works. Example a vocal readers set up a live read out loud session on youtube just to read the work in funny and mocking matters, but some of the audiences actually ended up loving the story they mocked. Like i myself ended up reading Jay kristoff after listening to a book reading session by a youtuber who actually attempt to mock his writing in sarcastic criticism.

So yeah. Just my pov

Yeah. I often wonder if there should be a requirement to leave some sort of critique with a rating. Wouldn't advocate out right for it, but man....knowing the difference between a 1 star from severe writing issues and "Main character make me upset because he likes the color green" would be nice.
