Promote your fiction by explaining the main/other character(s) goals

What drives a story is what drives your character. If they do not have a goal that relates to them, even if it isn’t written and just shown, they have no drive to continue their adventure or job or whatever plot you are going towards.

What defines your character’s ambitions in your story, how do these effect the plot and storyline? This can be multiple characters, or just one. Sometimes, they even overlap. But what drives your character to actually continue with their journey?

In RE: SYSTEM // SUMMONER, Levi is trying to save the world from an inevitable apocalypse, but more specifically, to protect his wife and son. And also he's a traumatized mess, because he already lived through this timeline once before and lost everyone over and over again.

In Eclipse, Rubines is trying to save his people from an inevitable apocalypse, whatever the cost. Even if he has to betray everything they stand for in the process.

...what do you mean I have a thing for inevitable apocalypses? Ssssshhhhhhhhhh....
