Hello there!

Hi everyone,
I've been writing fiction in my spare time for a few years now. Someone finally convinced me to branch out from Reddit so here I am! (And yes, it took me two-and-a-bit years after I signed up to start posting...)
The majority of my work is sci-fi short stories focusing on how cool humans are. Or how not-cool they are. Depends on the story. This site seems geared towards longer stories though, so I'll probbly group the oneshots under one 'book'.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Hello!
Yeah that is smart to put them under one book. Also if you have longer short stories to divide it up (if they have natural resting points) and post them in parts. For example, short A becomes Short A part 1, then part 2 and part three.

Brilliant - cheers! I've got a few I could split up. The rest can go in my Compendium of Varying-Quality Oneshots.

Edit: A-ha, starting to get a handle on how this place works. I love the feature to auto-insert your current fiction when editing your signature!

Hell yeah! Short story writers unite! I'll check out your stuff too.

There are RR classics like many of Mad Sadie's shorts, Cry Wolfe by Zearth and many more. They get less attention but we do have a short story crowd here on RR.

Welcome. Parker has a short story anthology too (he'll be along in a bit). Also I'm not sure exactly how it works, but there is a volumes feature for fictions now, so you should be able to group each short story as a volume under one fiction page.
I hope you enjoy RR and your fictions find an audience.

I also have fictions elsewhere. Fanfiction: FFN (Cinn), AO3 (Lilitia). Original: FictionPress (Lilitia).

Hello! o7
That's brill - I was about to post here and ask if there's an Accepted Method of posting oneshots. I'm realising that each story'll have different tags which could be tricky... maybe the volumes feature remedies this!

Welcome to Royal Road fellow short story writer. You've got the right idea going with an anthology approach. Even though most people here enjoy long form works there is definitely an audience for short stories. Takes a little more effort to get readers so consider review or comment swaps in the Review section of the Forums once you've got a few stories posted. Also check out the Marketing section of the Forums for some self-promotion. Being active in the Forums is a great way to interact with the community and get more eyes on your signature. Hope you have fun here and that many people enjoy your work. Good luck.

"Hello there!"
Must...resist...urge...to...reply...with, "General Kenobi, you are a bold one!"
I haven't even watched that movie, I just like the memes
But all joking aside, I hope you have a good time here!
