Hello there! Looking forward to interracting!

Hello everyone! I've only recently joined, but my husband, who has been an avid reader here for years, suggested this site in particular for one of my projects!
I noticed in skimming forums that many of you, like me, dabbled in fanfiction for many years. That's encouraging! I'm a huge fan of anything BioWare puts out, even so far back as Jade Empire, SW:KOTOR, and Neverwinter Nights. But Dragon Age is a favorite and Mass Effect changed my life (and my grades in high school, as I skipped about two weeks of classes to play '^.^). You'll definitely see BioWare's influence in my style, if that's your thing.
Since then, about ten years ago I started focusing on original projects, and had a couple (brutal) "training sessions" with editors and professionals. The hard work is paying off, as I do have a book coming out later this year (hopefully) through formal publication.
But it's a PAINFULLY slow process... and it can be extremely isolating. I miss the sense of community that came with fanfiction or web settings. I'm hoping that connecting with readers and other writers here will satisfy in a way the grind of my current path hasn't lately.
I haven't started small! I elected a 6-book series as my main project here. I wanted to explore a world where "mages" would exist in the space-age era without them sounding like Jedi or Biotics, and I'm quite excited about the dimension I inadvertently opened. As it's just begun posting, it seems I'm here for the long haul! I'm looking forward to being part of a community again and building something that connects with others.
Hello to all! And thank you to my husband who directed me to this supportive and kind environment!

Well well! I see your husband has an excellence of taste in both his websites and his wives.
Well. Only one wife actually. And there's just one Royal Road. And I welcome you to it!
Good luck both here and in traditional publishing, and I hope you have some fun!
And I hope to see more of the both of you in The Forums! 🐿️

Welcome!
Mass effect is a favourite of mine. I was 'sick' on the day mass effect 2 came out.
I hope you have a fun time on Royal Road (RR).

Welcome to Royal Road. Very cool that you're going to be published. Congrats. I think you'll find Royal Road to be a great place to share your work and interact with other authors. Sounds like you've already got a good feel for the site. Have fun and may many people enjoy your work. Good luck.

Welcome. I started in fanfic way back when, and you've found a good fiction website for a sense of community. And good luck & congrats on the upcoming book publishing.
I hope you enjoy RR and your fictions find an audience.
I don't care that I came to all late, they're all excellent games. Now I just have to resist starting any new playthroughs. Again.

Nooo! Feel the options flow through youuuu! So much replayability! So many favorite moments to revisit! So many alternative character interactions to explore! DO EET! XD

Whenever its been a few years I always have to do AT LEAST two; my head cannon, and a new alternate character for new stuff. I have a problem. '-_-

I am Knightraveness' husband... Avid reader of web novels. I noticed royal road when it first started but never got to register.
I ended up registering this time though.
Thank you for the warm welcome.
I hope all of you have fair winds and good readings!

I re did both KOTOR1 & the ME trilogy last year. Currently got a DA-O & DA2 playthrough on the go. Though the former is getting neglected till I've got some more editing done because non video game related hobbies have taken too much time away from writing and I need to prioritise.
Edit: stupid bbcode auto emojis.
