I've been on this site for some time, but only recently started publishing my first novel. Before that I only wrote one short story (that you can also see on my account).
To me writers were always just some people who were simply born writers. As strange as it might sound I never knew that it's possible to just sit down and write your own stuff. So even if it's late for me to start now, I hope at least a couple of people will read and enjoy something that I created.

Welcome! It's never too late to start writing. Good to see you've set your signature up to draw a few more readers in, otherwise just upload consistently and people should find your fiction.

You might already know this, but just in case: there is in an excellent Beginner's Guide written by Cinn (https://www.royalroad.com/forums/thread/111469). Even if she doesn't list my earlier guide to reputation points, but a newer (and admittedly also more comprehensive and prettier) guide on it instead - which I may possibly be only ever so slightly bitter about... 🙄

It's never too late to start writing if you have the desire to do it. I've been doing it as a hobby since a few years ago and I had spells where I could write loads and times where I procrastinated or burnt myself out
So  don't sweat about it. You'll do just fine and also welcome to RR! It's a great community here.
