How often (if ever) do you buy the ebook version of a story if one is available?

I dislike reading on a computer, so typically I'm only interested in those stories where the author also has an ebook version for sale. I will read a chapter or two, and if I like what I see I check out the ebook version. There is also the issue of formatting. I don't care for the manner in which stories are formatted on the site (they read like news articles or blogs rather than as actual books).

How common is this? Do most people buy the ebook for reading on their kindle/phone/whatever or do 90% of readers only read on their actual computer directly from the site?

Bonus question: How much does uploading your story to places like this double as advertising for the ebook? I imagine a popular story here might get more sales than one that is merely self-published in ebook form? Advertising as an indie is very hard.

Yeah, if I'm actually interested in a story, then I'll always buy an ebook if it's available. I already spend 9+ hours on my computer so reading on a Kindle is much better.

Prefer reading on the kindle app, usually I'll buy an e-book if it's up my alley.

Don't really limit how much I spend on books.
One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish
Black fish, Blue fish, Old fish, New fish.
This one has a little car.
This one has a little star.
Say! What a lot of fish there are.
Yes. Some are red, and some are blue.
Some are old and some are new.
Some are sad, and some are glad,
And some are very, very bad.
Why are they sad and glad and bad?
I do not know, go ask your dad.
