Satire and comedy.
Satire hides the otherwise obvious fact that I have no idea what I'm doing.

I like to write and read supernatural, scifi, and fantasy. However, I'm getting into some GameLit and LitRPG. Also, I can add a bit of romance to my writing, but I hate reading romance.
Re: Genre vs genre

I like to read old timey fantasy and sci-fi (the older the better) but I prefer to write romance mixed with either horror or fantasy. Hell, most of the time I mash all three together. Lol

Mostly write sci-fi and also enjoy reading it. However, recently I've been reading books on English history.

I will read just about anything, but high fantasy is probably my favorite. Although I do love WW2 realistic fiction... As for writing, fantasy again, but I don't think I'm ready to write it yet.

I even lightly researched German to make the German soldiers pop a little more in the narrative during combat. It was fun :)

https://www.wordreference.com/ is the way to go for that.
Otherwise, related to the topic, I read anything but LitRPG and Isekai. And I write anything but LitRPG and Isekai. Cookbooks included.

This is going to sound weird, but right now the easiest novels for me to read are "meta" novels, or ones that feel like iterations of an existing framework. Reading can be a bit exhausting and dense fantasy novels can be hard to visualize and invest in so having a pre-existing knowledge base to draw upon, for example isekai or something like that, makes it easier to jump in without as much brainpower.

Fantasy and fantasy. Though writing fantasy is brilliant it is also a pain. Trying to write an engaging story while creating an interesting and dynamic world is difficult.

My favorite genre to write is Superhero Action, with Epic Fantasy a close second, as it is a bit mors flexoble for me than other genres I've written in the past. However, as a reader, I love reading Thrillers.
Re: Genre vs genre

I write epic fantasy and action mostly but I like reading fantasy and comedy more so (Fantasy doesn't have the compitment epic does and comedy because I don't consider myself a very funny person~).

Write sci fi and read Biography and history. I would never be able to do the research to write even an autobiography!
