The Anime Lounge
#1
Greetings, people.
I am HappyCapybara.
I have no idea why I'm making the text like this but go with it.
I noticed there were nowhere around these forums where anime lovers can hang out and talk ANIME.
Which is unforgivable.
I'll probably regret this later, but what the heck.
So if you want to chill, and talk anime here's the thread.
Also, you don't have to love anime or manga or light novels or any of that stuff.
You can chill here even if you've never watched a single episode of an anime or read a single page of a manga or light novel.

Isekai ojisan and machimaho are two of my favourite manga that I think are bit underappreciated, although the former is getting an anime which I'm really hyped for.

Covers of both respectively, the latter is usually a bit risque with its covers.

They announced the isekai ojisan while I was reading it, and I’m quite excited…perhaps I should check out this machimaho.

I have, but I couldn't really get into it.

Really recommend it, Tomodachi to Shite Daisuki is another good one although it has less chapters out.

I'm looking forward to a third season of "Ascendance of a Bookworm". I don't really have any other plans for anime.
I used to spend time watching a lot of different anime a long time ago, but as the industry has stagnated by falling into the trap of "only producing what sells", I've watched less and less.
Generic battle shonen. Want me to tell you what happens?
>fight fight fight
>get stronger
>a new, stronger, more challenging opponent appears!
>this isn't even my final/ ultimate/ perfect form
>learn a new technique
>fight fight fight
>get stronger
>a new, stronger, more challenging opponent appears...
It's an extremely simple template because the target demographic is little boys, aged 9-13. Personally I prefer a bit more... substance in the things I watch.

Not exactly bleach, but something in the same universe, set in London, involving dragons...
Dunno anymore...

I knew this would happen at some point.
Anyway.
Best anime is Angel Beats and nobody will ever be able to compete with it.

There was an anime with a similar plot a decade earlier called "Haibane Renmei".
It did it better, too.

Finally, a thread for me!
And I have been exposed to yet another isekai that I must read. I finished Tensura and Konosuba a while ago and it's given me this unshakable isekai itch. So thanks for helping with my addiction.

but I'll give you a heads up, if you touched Parallel Paradise, than you really are in the deep end, but nonetheless good luck on the Isekai binge!

I recently forced myself to give Boruto another chance. My word it's bad! I eventually followed some advice and just skipped 80% of it but even the canon material is badly written and executed. It really craps over the original series, which I loved so much, and Boruto himself is such an unlikeable Gary Stu.
I like Bleach, too but I'm not sure how I feel about the return. I'd really like new content, but the unadapted Thousand Year Blood War arc in the manga is really awful IMO. If the anime follows it exactly, I will be disappointed as the ending in particular, is nonsensical.
Any1 else watching World Trigger? It's pretty formulaic but I love it! It's one of the only manga I read because it's so detailed that it feels just like the anime.

Check out my Harry Potter spinoff, Gideon Drake and the Fire Within, illustrated Fakemon series, Pokémon Slate Gray, or my 90s anime sequel, Sailor Moon Silver Legacy!
