That is the number of people who read 'up to this chapter and then stopped'. It is normal to lose a lot on the first few chapters. I'd be concerned about that spike at chapter 8; at a guess you either you went on hiatus then, or did something that made people mad. Everything else looks pretty standard.

EDIT: Ahhh, switching PoV character. Yep, that'll do it.

A lot of times the smaller tags don't display unless you hit the little + to see more of them. So people get invested in a single PoV story and don't even know that expectation is wrong... Even though it's clearly tagged. Missed communication could explain a lot of it.
I added it to a list at the end of the synopsis to put that aspect on blast, and still have my lowest retention rate at the first PoV shift. Numbers for context
Retention per chapter low 90%s (two most recent chapters excluded)
First PoV shift 79%
My other PoV shifts don't show a significant drop over any other chapters

I also have a suspicion that a fair number of .5 ratings come from miscommunications like that.
