Ohhh, fun looking thread. Here goes nothing!

My story it Keeper of Demonic Forces.

Brief synopsis:

The spirit world is at constant war with itself and the humans are about to be dragged into it.

Fortunately, one human is given the ability to mediate between both worlds, but in order to do so they must leave behind all human attachments.

Kira Vermillion just moved to Tokyo with her step family and a series of unfortunate events have led her to taking up the position of the mysterious Vigilante the people of Tokyo have dubbed Demona.

Although, she does not want to give up her normal life for anything.

Armed with new, dangerous abilities and powerful allies, Kira must train to become stronger so she can stand up to the evil forces that threaten the city, her family and the sense normality she's worked hard to maintain.

An exciting, action packed story with sprinkles of comedy that you definitely don't want to miss out on. Secrets, battles and heart wrenching stories are guaranteed.

I really should have gotten around to this sooner, but here goes.

I've always liked superspeed as a power. It lets the user do such awesome things! The problem is that a character capable of doing that cool stuff is so fundamentally overpowered that the writers tend to get a bit lazy when it comes to challenging them.  I wanted to take a crack at it. The question was how to make that interesting. Well, here's my attempt:

Millisecond: Superspeed is a curse!
A high school girl gets superspeed but there are two problems:
1. While it's active, her perception is also sped up, making her spend days effectively on her own.
2. She can't control when it's active. It just cycles off and on every hour or so, and slowly skews to full-time.
If that doesn't sound like hell yet, it will.

The story follows Milly's attempts to understand her power, be a hero, and stay sane. While superpowers are pretty common in her world, they aren't all made equal and Milly's power is several leagues above the norm, even for most superheroes. It turns out that there's really not much of a fight to be had when the opposition doesn't even have time to blink, which just makes it even harder for her to find something interesting to do. Thankfully, she has the support of her girlfriend, Niki, while she learns about herself and the super world. She'll have to deal with new friends, feelings, superheroes/villains, mysteries, and most of all her own power threatening to alienate her from everything else.

The story will involve:
  • Poorly supervised teens.
  • Exploration of various superpowers.
  • Cute lesbian/yuri romance.
  • Superheroics.
  • Struggle.
I update it every two weeks.

I've heard so many great things about this one through the forums that it's one of the stories I think of when I think of the word "underrated". At least, as much as I can for a story I haven't read yet. The only reason I haven't touched it yet is that I've been waiting for a bigger backlog of chapters to form so I don't find myself waiting two weeks for the next release. But I've been itchin' to check out this one.

Also, we may have to change the Mandela Effect to the "Milliseconds Effect", because I thought you did post on this thread long ago.

Hah, I'm grateful that there are so many things to find on the forum then. I look forward to having you over, but you are probably wise for giving it a bit. I'm often told that the wait for the next chapter is like a cruel taste of Milly's situation. xD
