🎵 sell your story, but make it rhyme 🎵

i can't resist, i like these self promotion threads a lot
and i'm quite happy with this new idea that i got
sell your story as a blurb like you do all the time
but the rule is everything you write must be in rhyme!

it's okay whatever rhyming scheme that you should choose
just make sure to be consistent in the scheme you use
A A B B, A B A B, A A B B C
i'll be content with whatever rhyming scheme i see!

if you give a fair shot here at selling me your book
if it rhymes, the least that i can do is take a look!
good luck everybody, it's fun trying something new
it needn't be perfect if you find it fun to do!

Little do you know, Val used to write poetry years back. As a result, it has been incorporated into his work.  DrakanWine

Dreams of fleetingness, desires tormenting yet pleasureful.
Basking in the bliss of the wind, embracing those imperfections and selfish desires.
Corruption ensuing, rising to the challenge.
One once filling with love, hatred consuming her.
 Tips of brokenness, agony incomparable.
Memories of discrepancies, desiring days of yore.
Forcing onward, breaking through obstacles.
Damning the worlds, all for a chance in grasping her deepest desire.
An enemy to numerous, that will forever persisting.
Hearts parallel to each other, one of innocence, the other of malice, both reflecting an entity of the present.

————————

Though, I should also mention, the first book is a gateway. Meaning, it is on a lower level in comparison to the rest. Also, too tired right now to make this any longer.

Of snow and magic distant lands
where Evil stirs its head;
a Beast would hold the healer's hands
to forge a path instead.
A prophet told of future dark,
of death, betrail, and war,
but swallow-wings would bring a spark
and peace would be once more.
However, for the sun to shine
devoured must the swallow be.
The Beast would howl: "Love of mine,
I'd die instead of losing thee!"

A somber tale in a future land,

where mankind almost lost their stand.

Where demons rome and technology is lost,

and man gain elemental power at a cost.

It follows a broken girl who can throw lightning bolts,

as she seeks vengeance on twisted cults.

For the lives they've ruined they will pay,

For the loss of her parents on that day.

But the cult's influence was bigger than she'd bet,

and her newfound family could become blood debit.

So here at this moment, she'll pick a side,

To seek out the cultists or hold on to found family ties.

In a series about people with different superpowers
It's not all sunshine, bunnies and flowers.
The goal is to protect their U-S-A
And along the way, save the day.

Threats come from within the States,
other countries... even outer space!
But amongst the team, not all is well.
The friends, they fight. And for some, it's hell.

Our team is made up of member after member
But there's a character index chapter to help you remember!
Below I'll tell you about some of them
And maybe amongst them you'll find a gem.

There's the English Kimona who's considered the protagonist,
As it's her story we begin with and is the catalyst.
Crashing her plane and resurfacing nine decades later
We follow as she learns about the life that awaits her.
Controlling water and talking with sea creatures,
Are just some of the things that her skillset features.

Terri's our strongest, tough as a rock.
She can take on anyone, but watch for the shock.
Occasionally, she needs a gentle reminder
To make sure she doesn't destroy that diner!
She doesn't mean it... it's just the ground she moves.
It just sort of happens, but with time, she improves.

Brad's the stretchiest, a national treasure,
His limbs will go grow further than one can measure
His behaviour though in some will irk
'Cause behind the scenes to some he's a jerk
As the series progresses he makes amends
As he lengthens, stretches, twists and bends

Our triplets from another earth
are more than we truly deserve.
Overpowered Holt, Mindy and Blane
Are the ones to rely on to deliver pain.
They're new to our customs and are a lot of fun,
But oh boy, I cannot wait as their stories have just begun.

It's Do’Lânqwa who will know if you are one to lie
And it's in his armoured suit that he can fight and fly!
From another earth, sent on a mission
To The Collective, he is a worthy addition.
Not one to want to be in the limelight,
It's The Sheriff I'd want in my corner to fight.

What is beneath
within the walls
of an underground city
before it falls

There is but six
doctrines of old
keeping us all
within their fold

The magic here
is spirit paid
and spirit speaks
in our heart's shade

But lo what become
of Orphans lost
who slipped from Home
and paid the cost

Yes, magic gone
and Royals to weep for
who had a son
that they would speak for

There are but five
who will impact
on the future
of ancestral pact

Ghosts do roam
Within the cave

And watch through the dark
What the light may save

Spoiler: Neither of these characters have been introduced yet…

Sung to the tune of obedient servant by hamilton…

[Da]
Dear Mr. Chin-Hwa,
I am slow to anger
but I cross the line
As I reckon with your necking
of that girl so fine
I look back on what I've done
and in every place I've gone
The only common threat has been your disrespect
Now you call me immoral
a dangerous boot baron
if you're go something to say
name a time and a place
face to face

I have the honor to be your obedient servant
D dot Seung

[Muk:]
My Lord Seung

I am not the reason freya doesn't trust you
none of us knows what you believe
I will not disembark from my opinion
on what the lady needs
Even if I said what you think I said
you would need to write a more stirring grievance
here's an itemized list of five years of disagreements

[DA:]
Sweet Raven

[Muk:]
Hey, I have not been shy
I am just a quartermaster and I try
trying todo my best for our nation
I don't want to fight
but I won't apologize for doing what's right

I have the honor to be your obedient servant

M dot Chin

[Da:]
Carefull how you proceed good mouse
Intemperate indeed, good mouse
Answer forthe accusations I lay at your feet or
prepare to bleed, good mouse

[Muk]
Da, your grievance is legitimate
I stand by what I said, every bit of it
You stand only for yourself
It's what you do
I can't apologize, because it's true

[Da]
Then stand, Muk.
Docks. Dawn.
Swords. Drawn.

[Muk]
You're on.

[Both]
I have the honor to be your obedient servant.

This is a story of heroes and villains,
Of a city of Blue and Red sinking into fragility.
Where a terrible night was the vain of civillians,
All four years in the past, still affecting their tranquility.

Welcome all the unlucky Shindo East,
The poor man in the middle of this story.
A man whose gadgetry and deceit have pierced
his life, forcing him into unwanted glory.

His desire was to live his life,
But others wanted him for grander goal.
They invaded his privacy, cutting it like a knife,
A sketchy invitation forced unto his soul.

Yet, forcing one to do a thing is always gamble.
A bargain with the devil, one that causes strife.
The plans where re-purposed, all in shambles,
For his secrets and anger ruptured his old life.

Heed all, cause this is Shindo's tale,
The tale of the unlucky man forced to be a hero,
The tale of an undaunting man who got caught by his tail,
Heed all, because he will rise as a superhero.

In books of old that tell of ancient gods,
the Tomebound find the magic that they wield.
The peasants, kings, and all shall face the odds
as conflicts rage and none agree to yield.
But lo, the age of man is soon to end
when gods return to judge what man has wrought;
the wise among them see what signs portend
and know the empty fruits of battles fought.
The war to end all wars now looms anon,
and deities anoint a chosen few.
But all is not as it appears to be.
The world shall die, or else be made anew.

Once upon a time, in a kingdom fair
Lives a Queen and her hidden heir.
Beloved was the child, so the queen hid them from view
and yet still came a prince, upon first look it was love true

Enraged was the Queen, she made a sly deal
With a man of shadows to end the heir with steel
But instead of their death at the end of the day
The man took pity with them and brought them home to stay

At the end of her rope, the Queen brought out her grimoire
She created a curse that would leave no hint or scar
Created with magic, tied to the land
But when the heir dies, the Queen's beloved turns to sand.

Seed for a seed, magic at a cost
Tied forever, tree and child
When one dies, the other is lost
until the bond is severed or payment reconciled.

Magic apples of gold
At the cost of an immortal soul

A small price to pay
for the beauty of the fae

In every form, there hides a snake,
In every writ, there's something fake.
Will Mary drown in paper sea,
Or will the Author hear her plea?

Let's share her road, and break its grasp,
Don't worry, the car ain't a wasp.
Let's reach the edge, and go beyond,
To where a pen can be a wand.

So tell me now, care for a ride?
You worry not, I'll be your guide!
Let's come and share a bit of glee,
And you'll leave just as sane as me!

A tale was told in times of old
Of a blacksmith who became an inventor

He invented a shoe when rubber new
Which brought an estate, plus a mentor

A Baron he became, but adventure was his aim
So he set off with his trusty Valet

With France as his goal, he soon lost all control
And his voyage went a much different way

He altered his trip, and they took a new ship
With a pirate who was not a cliché

There are more adventures to tell, like the ocean they swell
But I’ll not spoil them, or give them away
