My .02: No.  The time spent in creating an account, cultivating a social media audience, and dealing with the resident trolls would be much better sent writing. Far too easy to go down the rabbit hole of chasing the dopamine hit of likes and such, far too easy to get infected by the toxic personalities that make their homes there. If one *already* has an audience that likes their work, having some minimal social media presence might be useful to post upcoming book sales, etc, but again that can be a temptation you don't need.

I think I'd only approach doing social media once I already have people reading my work. I'd focus more on having a discord - *maybe* a twitter - but I think having a good story needs to be the number one priority because you can network all you want but if the story isn't up to scratch, you won't gain dedicated readers. If I can get that proof of concept I'll look at the rest, but it's low on my priorities, at least at this stage.
