Hi there, I'm new around these parts. I wrote a "book" a while back but the idea of editing and putting together a full-length book just instills in me a sense of pure procrastination. So, I am editing it and posting it here so I can get the story out and maybe some people will like my work ... as I work on more of the work.

Anyway, any advice?

Welcome! Yeah, procrastination is part of the method (I hope 😅). But I totally get the feeling of a whole book feeling like a daunting prospect, till you check how much you've written over time and you realise that you can do it.

Welcome to Royal Road. I'd rather be writing that editing, but it's a necessary evil. I've found that posting your work is a great way to motivate yourself to edit it. LitRPG is the most popular genre here so there should be a good audience for your work. Hope you enjoy being here and that your work attracts many readers. Good luck.

Welcome! I get that editing by yourself is super tedious, but it's really important, especially since by the time you've finished writing a story, you're so much better than when you started it. So it's always really good to proof-read and fix-up your first chapters with that new knowledge. Even more so since new readers read your oldest chapters first, so you want them to be the best that they can be.
