Shows where you are getting your traffic from mostly and how much of your traffic can help you increase your ranking. If you want higher rank, rating wise, and % of members is low, may be focus on keeping your fiction on homepage more often and interact more in the forums? Just my thoughts.

I don't know what a 'member' is though. What does this statistic mean?

If it makes you feel better, I don't know what any of this stuff is either.
For what it's worth, I'm not sure knowing helps much. It kind of is what it is, ya know? What can you really do?

Isn't a member just a person, an individual, an account-registering entity?
