Hey, a one week old author here.
I have been working on my blurb for a long while now. And only recently, I started to publish my stuff online.

I have this good friend I talk to all the time. (He reads my stuff) And man I just want to say it feels great to be able to discuss my story with him.

That and he has been very supportive prior to me releasing my novel. So yeah, it's great to have good friends.

:3

That is all.

Did anyone go through something similar when they first put out out their story?

Here is my shameless shilling if anyone is interested:

Welcome, Sir!

I hope it was a great week for you! And yes, friends who read and support are the best ^^

Btw, check this to get started ===> https://www.royalroad.com/support/faq

And also try adding your novel to your signature, that way, people can see it whenever you post something here!

Welcome again!

I went through something similar as well! Before I started publishing my work on RR, my friend would be my beta reader and give me constructive feedback about them.  She was also my hype-woman and still supports me to this day when I discuss what my readers' responses had been like and future plot ideas.  I'm very lucky that we both enjoy writing.  When I also ask for her critiques or for her opinion as another Asian woman about my protagonist (Xianxia genre), I always find her insights to be helpful and encouraging.  In return, if she needs help with her writing, I also make sure to hype her up and give her the best constructive response.
