Re: Complete stories not tagged accordingly

Hi,

when I am looking for something new I am searching first by "completed", out of obvious reasons. Well, turns out a lot of authors apparently forget to tag it as such or don´t know about it.

I have looked through some stories and here they are, I would like that a Mod tags them accordingly for easier search. If you have some too, feel free to add.

Complete stories:

Yeah,.. I had some time...

Also, I would like to recommend making the System a little easier to use. Maybe if the chapter is named "epilogue" or "end" show the author a Popup to tag the story as "Complete".
Maybe add a "partial Complete" tag in order to signify that the book(s) is complete but the story is obviously not, but will not be updated anymore.

For the  first list, you do have a point there, it makes them quite harder to find or easier to overlook since they arent correctly categorized as complete.
And for those in the latter list, it is just how it all works, cant use the tag on such stories, since that would be misleading, hiatus does apply perfectly there as those series went on hiatus for one or another reason.

Also since you forgot the links for those
https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/16872/legend-of-the-empyrean-blacksmith
https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/17843/spirit-immortal

And a counterpoint, for the last in the first list, Tale of God, as i understand it, that story is a case where book 1 is complete, and the author seems to be intent on continuing the story at a later date, so it should not be marked as complete. This can be the case with more stories in that list, just them having an epilogue or whatever does not mean they are actually complete.

Btw..... spend your time on something more.... reasonable,  you must have spent a crazy amount of time searching up all those.

Quote:It used to be a bit of a hassle to get the completed tag, not something the author could easily designate, so I can easily see why they wouldn't want to bother.

Yeah, that´s why I said to only add a popup to remember the author to tag it as finished.

I know, that´s why I recommended a partial-complete tag.
It would indicate that I have written the first two Books of Harry Potter and consider them complete, but there is way more to tell, but I will never do so. To show the reader that at least some parts can be completed to satisfaction.
Especially as I have already seen stories where the author/Mod tagged it as complete, although it was only partially the case.

I suppose its up to the author as to when he/she feels done with a work.  Unless you are going to or have PM'ed all those folks you're just guessing as to whether or not the author is ready to close them out. I doubt the site owners will just go on in and do that.

Ill note its nice to hear a few readers introduce themselves, or query about book topics available, or even just complain, rather than the posts be taken over by nothing but authors, which does not bode well for the site at all. Time was, when a significant number of posts were from readers, which was nice to see, since they, eh, read

The update a couple of months ago enables you to mark your work complete now. There is no need to contact a mod.

Ah, thanks, I see it now, how convenient.
