Anybody know anything about Substack? Is it just a different version of Patreon?
I'm just asking because Matthew Yglesias founder of Vox just left that publication and moved to Substack, so I am curious.

This seems like it's a Patreon-like service that's mainly for the college educated, journalism/blogging audience, rather than for anyone who wants to engage with fiction. If you aren't reading Medium posts or using an RSS reader for your news I feel like this probably isn't the right site for you. This is only based on a cursory view though. I'm sure the business model itself works well for serial writing, but there probably aren't many users interested.
For a second I got this mixed up with Subscribestar, whose entire business model is basically "we are Patreon for the people who make conservative vlogging and/or adult content." I'm sure that's a decent platform too, though when you use it in the first place it gives off a certain "impression" about your content, even if that's unfair.
