Hello-hello. I wrote some Xianxia if you're interested in reading it.

https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35072/a-dream-eternal

We're currently 7 chapters (16k words) into the happenings and I figured I might as well tell you of what I hope for the story to become, and what it currently is as of writing this.

This will be a kind of a stream of consciousness post (unlike the novel).

So, I'm an avid connoisseur of CN novels; Xianxia, Wuxia, Xuanhan; it all goes for me. I've even delved into and learned the dark arts of reading MTL yet it came at a cost. From that, I hope you can see I have some preliminary understanding of what makes the genre good, what to avoid, and what cliches there are.

The story is going at a bit of a slower pace at the moment, as I hadn't given the main character the privilege of owning an old ancestor spirit inside a ring or memories of a Pill God to exposition the cultivation right off the bat, hence the main character as of now has no idea what cultivation even is in practice.

The previous paragraph might have put some off you off, as I personally don't like the meek, kneel-ready JP main characters so I'll just say it outright that the main character has his unique advantages, and it is explored and shown in the first few chapters already in vague details.

The start is pretty peaceful and has focused more on understanding the immediate surroundings of our main character, all the while exploring the personality of his.

I hope the story will progress according to my vision for a long time; character-driven plot progression without forced or unrealistic encounters and interactions.

Ya, that was it. Bit of a slog of a self-recommendation but hope you check out A Dream Eternal, if not... I will kowtow to beg you to read it! And you will have no choice then!

Hello! If you like Science-Fiction and Fantasy-Adventure and Romance, you may like my story. As it has all three.

It's an adventure story about a Cat-Boy that meets Aliens and goes on an adventure with them.

About the Romance:

The Romance is Gay, Male x Male, so if you don't want to read Gay characters then it's probably not something you'll want to read. However, the story is not primarily a Romance, it's just that the Romance is another key element to the actual plot.

This is a MATURE work; however, this is not a smut book or pornographic work. Any sex scenes will be in their own separate chapter with a small non-spoilery warning at the top, for those who do not wish to read sexual depictions. There are currently no sex scenes in the story; however, there is at least one planned later. Please note the content warning tags, and the content warning author's note at the bottom of the prologue.

About the Tone / Style:

The pacing in the beginning is a bit slower than some others, it may even resemble a slice-of-life or school-life style story early on, however it will ramp up.

If you want to get a sense of what my writing style is like, check out the Prologue. It is rather short (intentionally), and may give you a quick sense of what the tone of my writing is like.

Here is the blurb for those interested:

Quote:Rae is an 18 year old boy, with "Fluffy Cat-Like Ears and a Tail", who is going into his senior year in high school at the lowest point in his life.

Rae has been relentlessly bullied and tormented for his entire childhood because of his physical differences. When Rae's last bit of hope for a life with meaning is crushed, the Cosmos decides to send him a guide to help him find his Purpose and grant him Love.

content warnings for gore, violence, some language

Here's the blurb: Erika Hanover receives her magic on her twelfth birthday--far earlier than anyone is supposed to--and suddenly, everything in her life becomes clear. Her past is gone, and she can finally turn the empty person she was into something she can love. But, as she integrates into the Radiant, a mercenary group policing magical crime in upstate New York who could really use a powerful water-mage like her, she finds that the person she was is not so easily outrun, and the person she wants to be is not so easily reached. In a way, this job is everything a broken mind could ask for--but in just the same manner, it may be what rips her open for good.

if you like...

-character-driven dramas
-urban/modern fantasy
-young protagonists in serious, more complex stories
-first-person narrators who can't really be trusted
-the pain dimension
-structured but relatively soft magic systems
-some anime influence
-upstate New York
-stories that won't go on hiatus unless something bad happens to me because my buffer for chapters is comically huge
-some amounts of very dry humor
-books that are "coming of age" mostly by technicality

...you're in luck.

Hello everyone!

Have you ever wonder what would happen if Romeo and Juliet could do magic? No? Good, so you are normal. Must be nice.
Well, I wrote a novel about it. Good ol' Shakespeare wouldn't recognise it, of course, stories has that annoying habit of changing along the way.
So it's now a kinda romantic, kinda funny urban fantasy about a demon huntress and a professor who is teaching magic. And about vampires. And politicians. And superheroes.
So if this mess sounds like something you might enjoy, I have more than 35 000 words up and ready at this point and daily updates, waiting for you.

Title: The Lord of the Stars
Genre: Space Fantasy, Science Fiction
Synopsis:

Quote:John is a simple farmboy on the planet of Bremman, gazing at the stars on the night sky and dreaming big. His only chance of getting away from his simple life is to participate in a combat tournament that will allow him to join the military. Yet an encounter with a young sorceress upends his entire life and plunges him in a conflict that will change the galaxy's fate.…

The Lord of the Stars is a sci-fi/space fantasy story. It blends together elements of science fiction and fantasy, while also being influenced by cyberpunk and wuxia. It is a fast-pacing story that spans an entire solar system and concerns itself with multiple characters (though the above mentioned John is the clear protagonist).

If the idea of starships and sorcerers, g forces and elves, gangsters and dark lords is to your liking, then this story might just be right for you.

Length: So far, the story has 23 chapters and 431 pages. The average chapter can range from 3000 to 8000 words. There is, thus, already plenty of content to read while waiting for the next update if you decide to pick up the story now.

Updating Schedule: The story is updated once every week.

Reasons to read the story:
  • While as a space fantasy it is not a hard sci-fi story, it does attempt to be reasonably realistic. You can expect g forces during takeoff/acceleration to be accounted for, gravity and its effects, no sound in space, no faster than light space travel.
  • It attempts to have compelling villains/antagonists, who are not simply cartoon-evil bad guys.
  • It blends elements from various genres. Aside from the already mentioned blending of science fiction with fantasy, the story also includes elements of cyberpunk, detective stories and wuxia.
  • It spans multiple worlds and views the solar-spanning conflict through the lens of multiple characters, including soldiers, gangsters, detectives and doctors. It should be noted, however, that there is one main character/protagonist (John).
Other things to know about the story:
  • It is not a harem story nor does the MC engages in romantic relationships with multiple girls.
  • The grammar is fine, and even reviewers who had mixed opinions about other aspects of the story stated that they had few to zero problems with the grammar.
  • The story begins as a classic good vs evil saga in the first few chapters but it evolves gradually into a world with more shades of grey. The MC, however, is no antihero nor does he usually engage in questionable acts.
  • The story tends to be fast-paced (for the most part). That does not mean - I hope at least - that people who prefer slower-paced stories will not enjoy it, but I do state it upfront so that readers who prefer slower pacing may know what they are getting in.
  • While the story is fast-paced and action-oriented, it takes a few chapters before the main plot act is introduced.
