The island nation of Yashima is in chaos. Armies march to war, pitting cousin against cousin in the fight for power. Sword saints hone their craft in battle, growing more deadly even as the tide of muskets flooding the country make the average soldier ever more dangerous.
One woman towers over the era. Known as the blood-soaked flower of the battlefield, it is said that to see her is to risk madness. To fight her is to die. Some even say she draws her power from the blood of vanquished foes.
Listening to the rumors, I can't help but feel that my plan to secure a comfortable administrative post has somehow gone awry.
Cadence Lee thought she was a normal girl, perhaps a little well to do, but not exceptionally so. She had her college classes, she had her job that her uncle gave her, and she had a nice boyfriend who was sweet if a little awkward.
Except, when a mugger accosts Cadence and her boyfriend attempts to wrestle a gun away from the criminal, Cadence ends up shot. A normal girl, with the kind of wound Cadence had, would die. Cadence managed to do that part. But a normal girl wouldn't then open her eyes again and learn that death is not as permenant for her as it is for other people. She can be reborn again, and again. Each time stronger and with new abilities.
The catch? Any world she is born into, she can never return to. She has infinite lives, but only one life for each.
So begins The Many Lives of Cadence Lee.
On just another normal Monday, the world changed. The universe had reached a threshold humanity didn’t even know existed, and it was time to finally be integrated into the vast multiverse. A world where power is the only thing that one can truly rely on.
Jake, a seemingly average office worker, finds himself thrust into this new world. Into a tutorial filled with dangers and opportunities. In a world that should breed fear and concern, an environment that makes his fellow coworkers falter, Jake instead finds himself thriving.
Perhaps… Jake was born for this kind of world, to begin with.
5 chapters a week here to begin with. Will decrease as my backlog starts to run out.
Average chapter length: 2500 or so. I have a backlog of quite a few chapters to go through, but I will post faster than I can write in the beginning as I have a fulltime job.
Tags and content warnings are mainly to give me creative freedom later on. This is my first novel ever, and English isn’t my native language, so go easy on me chaps. Any feedback is more than welcome, of course.
After fulfilling the duty all arch necromancers are tasked with, Sylver Sezari was not expecting to ever wake up again.
But he did.
And after crawling his way back into the land of the living, he’s alive once again. In a strange land, a strange time, and with a strange floating screen in front of his new face.
Either through plan or chance, he’s alive again, and planning to enjoy himself to his heart's content.
-The story isn’t grimdark, but it’s not all sunshine and rainbows either. There will be lighthearted and positive moments, as well as some sad ones. That being said, it’s a whole lot more light than dark.
-This is a LITRPG story.
-It can get very GORY. I’m somewhat desensitized to gore and violence. So while the story isn’t full of gore for the sake of gore, it can get a little too descriptive.
-The MC is a necromancer, so corpses and decay, and all the things that come with it, will be mentioned from time to time.
-I’m a huge fan of Egyptian, Slavic, and Greek mythology, so expect quite a bit of that. That said, so much is altered, you’ll be hard-pressed to guess how exactly it is being used.
-Despite being ‘immortal’ the MC can, and will, die. In the event he does, the story doesn’t end, simply time skips forward. Which in some cases is going to be worse than just dying.
-I love plot twists, as much as I love red herrings and Chekhov guns. Deus Ex Machina’s not so much.
If you like the story, please leave a review!
Qube is an NPC in an AI-driven VR-RPG who avoids her scripted death and blithely continues following the Player, trying to make sense of the normalised nonsense of Fantasy RPGs and accidentally glitching out the world in stranger and stranger ways as she seeks to be the very best Childhood Companion ever.
It’s a loving parody of old school RPGs, high fantasy, and every gamer who has ever thought “what happens if I do this...”

This is essentially a first draft, so I welcome grammatical corrections etc.

Years ago, Earth was indoctrinated into the "System."
Earth was not the only place with the System, however. With the System came the other races, Invaders. The Invaders had one goal, to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. This created a bloodbath, and for years the war raged.
This didn't really have much to do with Derek. Derek was kind of a loner. Yeah, he enjoyed the occasional chat or drink with others, but he never stayed in one place too long or really got to know anybody new.
Derek did happen to be rather strong. After the years of fighting monster and Invaders alone, he had become quite adept at surviving. One thing that helped keep him alive was his refusal to get involved with others. He rarely cooperated with teams.
One day, Derek broke his rules and decided to lend some help, as the mission didn't seem too hard. He should have stuck to being alone.
Hey everyone, this is my fiction, "System Change." It's the first time I've really tried to write a serial. All feedback is really appreciated.
I plan to release chapters every Tuesday and Thursday. With occasional extra chapters being released.
I will try to maintain a word count between 1500-2500 words per chapter.
I just made a Discord if anyone wants to join.

Now he's got to choose the difficulty of his tutorial.
Just one problem.
He's high as a kite, and nothing seems Impossible.
^A nice fella who launched the genre asked to change the name, so I did. cover might be a bit tougher to swing, though. Updates Weekends.
Every year, on the same day, people across the world awaken new powers. They take the first step on the path to becoming Super Heroes... or Villains.
Emily Wright wants nothing to do with any of that. All she wants is to get her degree and maybe learn to deal with her anxiety so that she can have an entire conversation with a stranger without panicking.
She did not plan to awaken with the power to summon little sisters, or to learn that she’s been marked as a Villain. Will she be able to turn things around, or will she drown in a sea of super villainy and cuddles?
Skills, Attributes, and Experience; these are familiar elements to any tabletop RPG. Jack is intimately familiar with these terms from years of playing games, so he is shocked and excited when the entire world is integrated into a system governed by those elements.
Follow Jack as he works to understand and navigate the new world around him. From heartbreaking losses to amazing experiences, Jack's life will never be the same.
Mild spoilers ahead.
Jack wakes up from being petrified for five-thousand years. The world has changed and everyone he has known is dead. After recovering from the shock he dedicates his life to exploration and learning new things. From the complexities of the system that runs the world to understanding magic. He will soon find out the world has evolved into a mesh of classic fantasy, steampunk, and sci-fi.
Theo's adventure ended with his mentor's hands around his neck. The betrayal cost him his friends and allies, everything he had built... but not his life. Though broken and powerless, Theo has one last chance to enter the Nine Worlds, wielding the expertise of his first lifetime. He has planned for this, with years of effort in the making.
Yet not all plans survive, and with the advent of heathen invaders, he swears another promise and finds himself alone in the wilderness of the old continent. Elaine is ripped from this world to Pallos, a land of unlimited possibilities made real by a grand System governing classes, skills, and magic.
An ideal society? What is this, a fantasy novel?
Adventures? Right this way!
A Grand quest? Nah.
Friends and loot? Heck yes!
Humans are the top dog? Nope, dinosaur food.
Healing and fighting? Well, everything is trying to eat her.
Join Elaine as she travels around Pallos, discovering all the wonders and mysteries of the world, trying to find a place where she belongs, hunting those elusive mangos, all while the ominous Dragoneye Moons watch her every move.
Hey! Beneath the Dragoneye Moons is my first writing effort, so please be kind, but don’t hesitate to point out the flaws.
The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but it gets there!
I’m going to be posting M-W-F at first, but I hope to increase the posting rate as I get better at this.
I do know how the story ends, and I promise if it ever gets dropped, or I stop doing this, I will post the ending. There will be no random “this is the last chapter” out of the blue.

This story is being published on Royal Road and Scribblehub.
The story of my new life began when I woke up on another planet. Not the strangest thing I’ve ever experienced, but definitely in my top five.
Sometimes I still dream about a world without magic, a world where I don't have supernatural powers, where I'm not regarded as an expendable test subject. A world with coffee and internet. Oh, what a beautifully boring world that would be!
What to expect:
--> GameLit, one that’s a little bit subversive. (If you want the protagonist to play the game properly, this might not be the story for you.)
--> No filler chapters. (Story structure is already plotted out.)
--> Character development happens slowly (over many chapters).
--> Some romance, though it will never be the main focus.
--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”.
... and lots and lots of "Author's Notes". See you on the other side of the portal!
The life of a baby dragon, from birth to unknown heights. Born as a red dragon Rue will experience the benefits of such a prestigious race and the downsides. Dragon hunters, surviving in the wild, the journey will be difficult, but when you can breathe fire and weigh in at a couple of tones, pointy sticks don't do much…
The world they live in is magical with many different beasts and races, and hopefully, our young dragon will live to “taste” all of the finer points of life.
The story contains a litRPG element but I still like to have a natural feel to the way the world works. Please forgive me for mistakes and kindly point them out. I'm still new to writing.
Just a note, this is a dragon story. The MC will not be transforming into a human.
The Basics: Spoiler
Smartphones: No (Dragons Can't Use Them)
Martial Arts: No (Ever Seen a dragon Punch?)
Basic Physics: Yes (Fire….lots of Fire)
Dialogue Boxes: Yes
Well, we will have to see, at least once a week though. most likely every day for the first little while. I have a backlog of chapters I will release to kickstart the story.
This is my first attempt at writing a fiction from a female point of view, even if it is a dragon. I hope I get the tone right, please be lenient.
The MC will be a fauking dragon, that's all you really need to know. Please give it a shot.
(I do not own the art for the cover of this novel if someone wants it removed I will do so promptly)
Not even alien scum can take down a squad of US Marines!
When his dad died, Kerry Peters did the one thing he knew would have made his father proud. He signed up for the Marines. He barely made it through basic training and four days after deployment, he wasn’t confident he’d survive his first tour.
As a bookworm, he wasn’t considered a real soldier and most definitely not a hero. Fate however had other plans for Fire Team One and when the squad wakes up alone in camp, the fight is no longer against the Vietcong … but against creatures from other worlds entirely.
This is a fairly smooth LitRPG story - so will incorporate aspects of RPG and gaming in the writing. The LitRPG side of things is most visible from Chapter 7 onwards.
Petey, a Golden Retriever from Earth with a heart equally golden, was euthanized in a pound after over twelve years of love to everyone he met.
Thankfully, a few very powerful people seem to agree that it seemed unfair, and gave him a chance to live life to the fullest in another world.
Oh, and they gave him just a few perks...
Okay, maybe a lot of perks.
Aiden Neve, a CEO of a construction company wakes up inside an Attack Ball that is headed on a course straight back to earth, and it only gets stranger from there. Updates every Friday.
Freya Evenkey is the shaman of Safka. Her mundane life includes helping townsfolk and exorcising demons. Until one day she almost loses her life during a routine house call. After picking up a mysterious item she discovers there is more to her world than she ever thought before!
Some call it a game, or is it a curse?

While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything…
But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power.
That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat…
(The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)
Bob was a good guy. He had done everything you were supposed to do. He exercised, he kept to a healthy diet, he'd studied hard, gotten excellent grades, and was working towards his masters. Somehow, things just weren't working out for him like he'd been told they would. He was stuck in a thankless position, constantly passed over, and it seemed that the only being on earth that cared about him was his cat.
Then things got worse.
Never back a man into a corner unless you want to find out just how hard he can fight.

Instead of enjoying early retirement, Jason, a young fast food tycoon, has decided to buy a stasis pod for the popular fantasy RPG Titan Online. Now that he has all the money in the world, Jason would rather focus on making friends and having fun, but along the way some of his old habits might return. But Jason will find that Titan Online is not as simple as he first imagine. Join Jason on his adventure into Titan Online.
Titan Online is a LitRPG with a noncombat MC with a focus on class and profession advancement as well as wealth accumulation. Magic and Combat play a part but will be explored through the MC's companions and other characters.
Raven. In a world of fantasy, where magic and sword reign supreme, a girl is reborn. Not as a hero, a villain, or even a common mob.
She was reborn as a dumb bird. Now don’t get me wrong, ravens are one of the smartest animals alive. But imagine going from a fully functional human body...to....this...
In this world, ravens are considered harbingers of death. Filthy pests. The incarnation of damned souls. Due to their penchant for mischief, they are shunned and despised by human and non-human races alike.
Join Raven in her journey from a naive baby bird that wants to become human again (or at least get some semblance of arms/legs), and grow to live a life worth living, eating delicious food and reading great books.
Also known as the Ascension of Amaris, Queen of the Night, Beloved of the Moon.
*chapter length will vary from around 1500~2500 words.
I... don't remember how I died. Or anything else, really.
I don't know who... what I am, what this dark space I am in is, or why the souls all around me are looking at me.
But I do know that if the world starts falling apart, escaping comes first, even before listening to the messages that keep ringing inside my head. I only really remember the first one:
[The [Simplification Process] has begun.]
And so, while the world was doing a 180, I was stuck deep underground as an incorporeal soul, absorbing the essences of thousands others like me who had been torn to shreds just to prevent myself from dissipating, and trying desperately to go up while recovering jumbled up memories from my past.
I did try to posses monsters to gain a physical body, but...
It seems my soul got too powerful to be shackled down by a vessel.

A world torn apart by invaders who came not from space, but from portals opening at random across our land. Missles, tanks and bullets were rendered useless by the Advent, but with it brought with it all the tools we needed to fight back, magic.
Andel lived in a world where those with powers will have the final say in everything. In his world, having no aptitude to either magic or Ki means you are even worse than ants. Unfortunately, he didn’t have any aptitude to either.
His life should have been hell, but due to being the son of two powerful parents and descendant of a powerful family saved him from a wretched fate. Life was harsh, but Andel wasn’t one to mourn and do nothing. From his childhood, he learned all kinds of close-combat styles and martial arts, proving himself to be a genius at close combat as long as ki isn’t involved.
As genius as he was, there was no way he could match those with powers, right?
Andel had another identity. He was originally a person from Earth who got transmigrated after an accident. Moreover, during his transmigration, he also gained a system that gave him resistance to various things in exchange for experience points.
With the Immunity System in hand, Andel decided to finally step into this magical new world and make a name for himself, after spending twenty years in training.

A man with strangely specific amnesia wakes up on a beach. Updates every Friday.
Since childhood, Sorath has been able to sense emotions and hear thoughts of those around him. He is the first soul in recorded history with a psionic affinity, and he is either feared or laughed at for his abilities.
As an eighteen-year-old Hexblade, he takes on the King's bounty lists to pay off a half-million gold debt he inherited from his presumably deceased father. If he fails to make repayments, he will be taken into forced labor. If he flees, he himself will become a bounty target.
Outside faction boundaries in the lawless wild, bandit gangs run rampant, and Sorath quickly discovers that many of his past schoolyard tormentors and rivals are on the King's bounty lists—and that far more sinister influences are at work driving the kingdom's descent into crime and corruption.
A LitRPG set in a dark fantasy world with innate game systems.
Hello! Author here!
Updates Every Friday! Chapters are anywhere between 2k and 8k words long.
This story does contain what some people may consider 'excessive swearing'. Sorry about that, but I like my spicy words.
The main character, Emmanuel, is excessively Overpowered. One of the main conceits of the story is the consequences of being so overpowered. I'm trying to play out the OP trope in a different way, but I know some people just don't like OP at all, so Im just warning you.
Now, this is my first ever novel, and while I edit the hell out of it in my spare time, I'm still just an amatuer and this is just a rough draft, so there will definitely be some slip up, grammer mistakes, and the like.
Song Lin just wanted to enjoy his second life as the son of Immortals, living in ease and luxury, while surrounded by beautiful women. But disaster struck on his tenth birthday, when his talent was tested, and it was discovered he possessed that rare and enticing Pure Yin Body. As a male with this constitution, only by cultivating to the Core Realm can he survive intimacy with a woman, ruining any chances of enjoying the harem he so desired. But Song Lin refuses to give up, and is determined to indulge in his fantasies, even if it kills him! And it just might, as he is forced to live in a sea of beauties, but unable to touch, like a man dying of thirst in the middle of the ocean. Can he survive the temptation? And to what levels will the greedy and horny stoop, should they discover his secret constitution?
The world of cultivation was endless, fantastical, and filled with treasures. These included supreme cultivation arts, ancient weapons, precious gems, sacred medicine, or beast lords that ruled the land. Humans fought against each other and against their deadly enemies, all in the pursuit of treasure and cultivation.
Gray was an impoverished orphan living an ignorant life in the wild mountains. His greatest dream was simply to eat his fill at every meal. However, the luckiest of chance encounters changed him completely and set him on a path to greatness.
He made a lifelong promise… and to fulfill it, he had to obtain immense wealth and peerless cultivation. How was he going to achieve these goals when his starting point was impossibly low? Well, he was blessed with a pair of heavenly eyes that saw the world like no one else could!

Tutorials. Monster invasions. Fantasy towns in a post-apocalyptic world. Follow Jarek Novak as he fights for survival with the “help” of his personal A.I.
“To recap,” I said, trying to ignore my growing headache. “I have a mind-controlling parasite in my brain. The Atropos Schema is facilitating the destruction of my world as I know it, and if it discovers this parasite, then I’m as good as dead. Currently, my world is being overrun by monsters and soon other sapient species will fight for control over my world—unless they already control my world from the shadows.”
<That’s mostly correct,> Samantha said. <Although I do take offense at being called a parasite.>
Updates 3x a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Each chapter should be a minimum of 1500 words.
Jacob, an avid Minecraft player in his free time, touched that damn mirror that looked so much like an End portal.
And portalled away he was, because the next thing he knew, blue boxes were everywhere he looked.
He could craft items, he could roam around. He could enjoy life!
With his extensive knowledge of the game, of the mods, of the playstyle... He knew that he would thrive here, in a world so similar to the virtual one where he had spent so many hours of his life.
"The War of Fog is over. Now the true period of strife begins."

Alex had always wanted to be an adventurer. The money, power, fame, and thrill of battle drew him in. Finally, he completes his training at the guild school, top of his class in almost every subject, and starts off his new life of protecting villages, and rescuing innocents. But rather than waking up in a tavern after his first job, he is in the entrance of a cave in the middle of nowhere. Not only that, but his perfectly trained adventurer body has been replaced by a baby dragon! Now, he must join an unlikely team to find out what happened to him and find a way to restore his lost humanity.
Monster power fantasy. Eat and become Stronger, Bigger, Dominant.
Rain is a survivor who got the short end of the stick in life. Reborn as a terrifying and dangerous monster everything changes and he has the chance to truly grow.
The story of Bazil, a man whose dreams of villainy are repressed by society and is being reincarnated in another world.
Follow him, or rather it, as it found itself being a simple plant. How will it conquer the world? It doesn't know yet, but it has some ideas.
A story where I plan on unleashing the taste for evil MC I have, also a bunch of perverted stuff to come. ;-)
You are walking west. You find a wishing well. You wish for it to grant infinite wishes for every human being on earth. The Universe is now broken. The current weather is apocalypse with chances of fallout and nuclear winter. Also, everyone is dead. Good job.
August 8th, 2026 -- the day seven mysterious Towers appeared around the Earth, changing the life on it forever. Cain had already lived through it once, experienced the irreversible changes that the world underwent seemingly overnight. Now, for him it is twenty-five years later, while for others it is still three months before the Towers are to appear. Having stolen the Timecube and used it to reverse back the timeline, Cain is now back before it all began -- with the sole difference of already knowing what will happen.
Nobody had managed to discover the mystery behind the Towers even twenty-five years after their appearance, but with the fresh start and advantage, Cain plans to unearth the story behind them, and whoever, or whatever, put them on Earth.

"But hero, please don't expect much out of this story as it is among the most generic of the ones you can play through. It is so generic that you will forget everything about it by the end."
NPC World Online, the VR game that hit the world by storm with its seemingly infinite storylines. Each player is assigned a guide NPC when they first begin their randomly selected storyline. Heroes can take on this journey in single player mode or enable the MMO option on their world at any point. It is entirely up to the hero to decide. They can even immediately reroll for different storylines if they desire.
After completing a storyline, heroes can opt for new game plus where they are transported to another world with a unique storyline and new guide. Heroes can even carry over everything from the previous worlds they cleared. The endless variety is all thanks to the countless NPCs imbued with high level artificial intelligence.
However, all is not as it seems as there is something these unsuspecting heroes are completely oblivious to...

Outspan Foster is the author of staples in the GameLit+LitRPG genres such as First Song and The Crafter. He started his career on royal road, and is now a small, full-time author.
Milo, 30, has everything going for him—with the exception of a paying job, girlfriend, or anything resembling an active social life. None of that is about to change, but he will be transported—copied?—to another dimension where the rules are pretty different, so that’s…something.
Join Milo as he bids farewell to his sister’s spare bedroom and says hello to the magical world of Altabar, where he’ll encounter scary monsters with lame names, meet new friends, and learn where not to pee.
Warning: the first blue box appears at chapter 24.
David always lived his life, looking at the world through a film of grey. He knew he was dull, he knew he was worthless. And the world was too.
His life ended in an instant, hit by a truck. Then he woke up again, and the System gave him a mission.
Pretty standard isekai, so far.
The only problem was that whenever he died, he respawned. After agony and pain, he would come back reforged. And so he died, again and again.
And when he completed his mission, another one awaited. On and on.
But his life had meaning now.
Portal Fantasy. Isekai. A daydream of nerds everywhere, leaving behind their boring world and living in a fantasy one that is full of adventure. A daydream that became a reality for me and 1000 other Comic-Con attendees.
Except for me, it was more of a nightmare. Wanting nothing more than to find a way home, and also saddled with being the world's new [Demon Lord], I found myself trapped in a gamelike world and also somehow a part of the [Hero's] party.
So join me as I tell the tale of my struggles. A tale of levels and skills. A tale of cagey game admins and bugs. And a tale of our party's grand quest to defeat... Well... Me.
Release Schedule and publishing information:
I have basically used up my backlog, so expect approximately 1 chapter a week. Usually on Sunday.
There is also a wiki for the crunchier side of things https://omniverseengine.com/ (note that a lot of the info on the wiki is minor spoilers as a lot of the struggle that is covered in the book is trying to figure out how the new world works).
This publication on Royal Road is basically the beta version of this book and it may be taken down if I decide to publish on Kindle Unlimited or elsewhere. Feel free to give feedback, positive or negative.
Yes, this says Book 1. There are probably going to be 3 books.
No, the plot as you can guess is not going to be tortured to drag out all the way to book 3. That would be ridiculous. If you can guess the plot of books 2 or 3 at any point before the last chapter of book 1, please use your clairvoyant powers for something more productive.
This story is intentionally told under the username TitusGM because the idea is that he was the one actually writing everything down what happened after it all is over.
I initially planned to answer everything in character on this site, but that just really didn't work out. If you want an in character response to a comment, simply prefix it with IC: (I also leave that as a reminder in the author's note after each new chapter)
Made by a friend who shall remain nameless at this time because he wants to make a better cover before I credit him.
He left his home, unwillingly, to a realm of cultivation, Xianshu, mythical manuals and Dao. And now he’s here due to a failed attempt at going home, a place bears a lot of resemblance but not the same.
“At least it’s close enough here. I’ll get there on my next jump.” Jianmen Yu said to himself, “But while I’m prepping, let me do my old job here for a bit.”
And there we have it, “Xianshi Inn”, run by a cultivator, who’s not of this world. Don’t mess with it or its employees, the owner will kick your ass, no matter who you are, no matter WHAT you are.
The holy knight Carmen never questioned his beliefs, even while he lay dying at the hands of a vampire. But death would not be the end for him. When Carmen next woke up, he found himself "alive" once again in the body of an animated corpse—a zombie—that was forced to slave away in the mines of a human kingdom.
As a proud, former knight, Carmen could not allow this wretched practice to continue. He must find a way to escape, try to regain his body and status, and uncover the truth. But there was something strange about this body...it was that of a little girl.
This is a Girl's Love/Yuri novel. Also, the yuri harem is slow. The main character won't get a harem right out of the gate, and there will be relationships that have nothing to do with the main character.
Ten years ago the angel Sammael appeared in a burst of light over the ocean, unleashing the godstorms and afflicting a minority of the population with elemental Warp sensitivities.
Now Piper Jones lives in squalor, bearing the mark of the Warped without any of the powers. A chance meeting brings her into contact with the enigmatic Malachai Beckett, a representative of the mysterious research facility known as the Ark. A liar by trade, he's fascinated by her generous spirit and sweet nature. As for Piper, she's attracted to him and everything he represents... but as for trusting him? That's a different matter.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:
1. This is NOT a LitRPG, atleast not in the traditional sense. It was given that label by the readers. Before posting on Royal Road, I had no idea that genre even existed. This story is a "what if..." SciFi/Apocalypse twist to Xianxia cultivation novels. There are zero status windows in this story.
2. I wish that people would read the content warnings. This is a story about STRUGGLE and HARD EARNED GLORY, not rainbows and lollipops.
3. Comments are locked in consideration of the overwhelming lack of Positive feedback. This is a free story that I haven't made even a single cent from, the least people could do is appreciate it. Comments are unlocked at a later point in the story. If you have any valuable feedback before then, feel free to message me or post in the editing thread on my Discord.
Thanks for reading.
A young man who is ordinary in every way by the name of Noah recently moved to a new city in the hopes of changing his luck after a string of failed dates and losing his unremarkable job in pursuit of new opportunities. Noah's world does change, but not in the way that Noah had imagined it would in his wildest fantasies.
This story begins with the appearance of a fleet of unknown spacecraft arriving above all of the major settlements and cities of Earth causing widespread panic and chaos to become common. The alien fleet is controlled by an unimaginably advanced artificial intelligence that oversees all activity on arrival, known as 'the System'. A voice that doesn't use words appears inside the mind of every living creature on the planet and labels them as 'System Users' and is recognized as belonging to the alien artificial intelligence, offering Users a path to power and immortality. The voice announces that the [Trial Phase] has now begun.
Shortly afterward, the sky became cloaked in fire. The dead began to rise again as demonic creatures that appeared as twisted parodies of what they were in life. Users began to awaken supernatural abilities that allowed them to combat this new threat at the cost of civilization as we know it. The System's motives are a mystery that must be uncovered as the fate of the world rests firmly in its grasp.
Does the arrival of the System herald the world's hope for salvation or is it the cause of its tragic downfall?
