So the world ended. Whoopsie? We didn’t even see it coming. Quite literally as it came at us faster than the speed of light. Don’t worry though, it got better. Also, I am not joking about the world ending. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced for some reason. Nope, all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale there for a few moments. Apparently the local universe wasn’t actually stable? Don’t ask me to go into too much detail. It would require both of us to have a few more college degrees than sense, and I at least lack them (both the degrees and the sense). Anyway, the energy/matter/wibbly wobbly strings were at a local minimum and not the universal minimum. Basically, what we took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake and when the dam busted so did, well, everything.

Now here is where things go a bit off track with what normal meant before. You see magic is real, qi is real, gods are real. Not on old Earth mind you but souls pay little attention to time and space so we dreamed of it. In fact, the closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer our dreams got to the new reality. This is basically me tip toeing around the fact that it was a ‘System Apocalypse’. Reality became a video game, I became a dungeon, and this is my story.

Doyle Huxley just wanted a normal life but as the above might clue you in on that just isn’t in the cards. He gets to experience a “Path Based System Apocalypse” and some early paths he takes, both literally and figuratively, lead to him becoming a dungeon.

The aim is to release chapters once a week on Friday.

Cursing will be avoided and no naughty adult action will take place in the story.

How would you react if one day you found yourself in an environment running on tropes and clichés? 

For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this rhetorical question became uncomfortably real on the day he woke up on a strangely pristine island country in the middle of the Atlantic. Without memories, surrounded by countless characterless placeholders, and with a classic harem protagonist and his various love interests for friends, he tries his best to fit in and figure out what's going on. 

That would be difficult enough already, yet his investigation into the rules governing the world, sabotaging the harem tropes, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes, ends up drawing the attention of the world's nebulous narrative...

Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.

A world of superheroes, but who controls everything is "only" a game developer.

Dao Lord Brandr has cheated death many times over the millennia, enough to know that this time he should have died. There was just no surviving what had happened to him.

Fortunately or unfortunately, he did. Well... that depends on what you call surviving really. His body is gone and so is pretty much all of his mighty cultivation base. To add to this, he has suffered severe damage to his soul and as if that wasn't bad enough he's lost, far away from any world he knows and maybe even his universe.

Now, he's just learned from a being called a sprite that he's some sort of sentient mystic realm called a dungeon and that just for the crime of existing, there would be legions of enemies planning to pillage and destroy him.

It's okay though. Apparently, he can make legions of his own. Seeing what he has to work with, Brandr decides that perhaps, all is not lost after all...

Heather was a normal girl living in an abnormal world. When the visitors came, they struggled to understand humans and their ways. It was through video games they began to learn, and then they came up with a plan. They created a virtual world of magic and dragons where people could translate and become parts of the game. Through this world, they watched and learned, growing in their understanding of us.

She knew little about it, only what came across the occasional tweet or blog post. She knew that people went into the world known as New Eden because they volunteered. She also knew that rarely other people were forcefully drawn in; these were referred to as the chosen.

Heather didn’t pay much attention to it all. For most of the world, things went on like they always had. She had classes to attend and boys to tease, and her cell phone was her world. That was until she woke in a forest clearing and realized she had been chosen.

A few things to note:

Fang is a cat soul in a cat body, and that's not going to change any time soon. No cat girl evolution or possessed puppet or any of that. 

The slice of life tag is there for a reason. There is no epic tale here, only a cat doing cat things in a (hopefully) interesting setting. 

The game elements are pretty light, mostly there for flavor, so don't expect a huge amount of crunch.

Nature is cruel, and cats are crueler than most. 

Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull.

Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time?

Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours.

Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow?

When Caden dies in an accidental fall, he is merged with a dungeon core in another world. The problem with that? The dungeon core wasn't dead, and he has share mind-space with it.

And that doesn't take into account mastering his new abilities well enough to escape from the powerful wizard that is, understandably, leery about allowing a dungeon to escape.

Even after he manages to escape he needs to found and manage a dungeon.

Of course the location he chose might have a few issues of its own.

He is on the border of two human nations who are not particularly pleased to share.

A sentient plant race claims the dungeon as sacred ground.

And, amidst the chaos, teams of adventurers just want to make a living and figure out how to deal with the latest challenge.

Just so readers know, Caden is not a murder-hobo. He is a genuinely nice person trying to make the best of his situation. If you want a main character that revels in killing people, this is not the book for you.

This is a reworking, and continuation, of my original novel into first person. And it is going great! The writing is well past where my original novel got to.

Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor].

Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony?

A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price.

This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick.

Things to Expect From My Story-

This is a reincarnation fantasy first and foremost. There are elements of soft-Sci-Fi but Sci-Fi is not the primary genre. 

This is a progression story. It starts from before reincarnation, then to his eventual rebirth, and will hopefully follow his life as he continues to change and grow. 

This story focuses on the rebirth of the MC and his new life in a new world. Although there is combat and adventure, this story is mainly about the MC's personal growth/withering as a person. It is about the connections he forms with the people in this new world, for better or worse.

This is not a power fantasy nor a military/mil-sim story. Although the MC was a powerful soldier in his previous life that is no longer the case considering the circumstances of his reincarnation. However, this does not mean the MC is weak nor has he forgotten about his past life. He will become stronger in a "realistic way" through time, training, and overcoming obstacles. 

This is the story of a former soldier who was used as a tool by his species. He is attempting to live a new "normal" life on his terms. The MC openly rejects his previous life as he strives to be a better version of himself. However, the world has different plans.

Kay didn't have the best life. Most of it was fairly standard, but his past was marred by a tragedy that changed his entire world. Years later he had managed to mostly rebuild his life, and had started making something of himself.

The new world he's been dumped into doesn't hold anyone's hand. Even with the bonuses that being an Outworlder brings won't keep him perfectly safe. One mistake could kill him in an instant.

A dimension where magic and monsters roam the land, and, for some reason, a System keeps dinging at her and telling her that her stats and levels are increasing. As someone who loves exploring mysteries, Alice is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. After all, everything has to have a ‘cause,’ including the System, right?

What to expect: This story is going to be a LitRPG set in a fantasy world. Greetings fellow humans. This is my first story on Royal Road and my first long-term project written in English, so I do hope you will have some mercy in your heart when reading.

So, as you may have understood, this is a story with super-heroes - which is quite ironic for my first story considering all of the other ones planned are fantasy - and as such will take place in a modern-like setting.

Despite dark themes and gory scenes making their way into the story, it is still a super-hero world with the logic that matches, so expect characters to survive nuclear explosions without a scratch and yet to get defeated by a rubber ducky - as well as similar dark humor, thus the comedy part.

For so long he had waited. 

Five years in the prime of his life, wasted. And now finally, after so long, he was returning to society, ready to resume his life. And this time he wouldn't make the same mistakes. This time, he would do it right.

Yet just as he was about to gain his freedom...everything changed. He found himself in a new world without explanation, a world of magic and possibilities beyond his wildest dreams. 

His second chance is different from what Cayden had expected, but he's determined to make the most of it.

Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable.

The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.

Nico, a young dragon of barely fifty, is rudely chased from his home by a group of murderous adventurers. Of his entire clutch, only he and one sister remained, but now he is alone.

Isolated and hungry, Nico’s magic awakens, bonding him with Cami, a brave, young woman.

In order to hide from the adventurers’ pursuit, Nico takes on human form. However, once they discover that both he and Cami have magical ability they are required by law to attend the Imperial Academy.

Of course, he has to hide his true nature, which isn't always easy, given a dragon sized ego.

A publication date has been decided on for Amazon. The story will publish on May 16th on Amazon with KU and Audible at the same time. 

That means that the content of the first book will be pulled 3-4 days before that. Material for book 2 will continue to be here. 

This is a litrpg story complete with levels, classes, stats, gear, spells and skills, and some limited quests. The stats mean something for the development of the character but full stat sheets are only repeated in their own chapters after there have been changes. You could enjoy the story without the stats but I believe they add to it. 

There is some romance which will be handled slowly. This occurs between multiple characters but is NOT harem in any way, nor will it be poly. There will simply be more than one couple in the story, each working through romances in their own way.

I included the gore tag because there is some significant violence but I don't believe it is particularly bloody.  The story is told from the first person perspective of Nico, but there are 
a number of interludes which tell the story from Cami's perspective but in 3rd person. She could be considered the second main character.

My goal is to post several chapters in rapid succession and then a chapter every day M-F.

The chapters will vary in length between 1800-4000 words as the story dictates. Most will be between 2000-2500 words. The prologue is shorter.

This is an simple story written by a amateur but I do enjoy the stories I write at least. If you like stories like reincarnation of the strongest sword god or the lords empire then this is for you. If you are expecting blood pumping fights and hilarious light hearted dialogue then this is for you. But if you are expecting game of thrones level world building or character dev then this is not for you. Its light, simple and fun. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. All the bigger is the eventual disappointment when Terry turns out to be an utter failure at spellwork.

Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words.

What Not to Expect:

Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more.

Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role.
