The saying goes that when a man is born the Fates weave his destiny and swaddle him in it. Then one day the man dies, and the swaddle becomes a shroud. Heaven moves on.
It is audacity to question the Fates. Olympus is Olympus. The land of men is the land of men. To transgress that, to cross the line of divinity and scale Olympus Mons? To defy the Fates and cast off their threads?
That is hubris. It’s a mark that every philosopher bears plainly on their soul.
Kobolds cower at the bottom of the foodchain, forced to eke out a meager existence in the most wretched of caves.
Most have made peace with their lot in life; one of eating scraps and carrion. They hide and run from predators, delaying the inevitable day when they aren't fast or sneaky enough to make their escape.
But not Samazzar. Sam is different from other Kobold pups. Traps and caves might keep him and his people alive, but sometimes, just living isn't enough. The blood of dragons pumps through his veins, and Sam isn't willing to settle for mere survival. Whether by claw, magic, or cunning, one day he will soar above the plains, predator rather than prey. And nothing, be it the mockery of his tribe, the hazards of the deep caves, or even the almost insurmountable difficulty of successfully evolving his bloodline, nothing is going to stop him.
Join Samazzar and his boundless optimism on his quest to throw off the shackles placed on his tiny scaled body by fate so that he can claim his birthright once and for all.

Miro was a slime.
Summoned under stressful circumstances and captured by the people hunting down its summoner, this slime has no idea what lies in store for it.
Most likely not.
Good things come to those who wait. Damien Vale didn't, and now he's bound to an Eldritch creature from beyond the farthest reaches of the universe. It's unfathomable, utterly evil, and likes to be called Henry. To Damien, none of that mattered. He was going to learn magic, and he'd be damned if he let something as small as this set him back.
When Damien started his first year at a mage college, he didn't expect it to be easy. However, when he's assigned to room with a strange girl that has magic that even Henry is wary of, Damien realizes things might not be so easy. He sets out to accomplish his life goal of becoming a powerful mage, all the while dealing with a murderous professor, an eldritch creature that's created a persona to act like a teenager, and a new roomate that's far more perceptive than he'd like.
As Damien struggles to deal with the rammifications of the monster within him, a disturbing fact comes to life: Henry might not be the only eldritch creature on the mortal plane, and he's the only one that can stop them.
NOTE: This story is progression fantasy with some very basic litRPG elements (such as a wristband that shows a character's stats). It is not a full on litRPG - it's a progression fantasy story with litRPG elements. The story will contain some romance, but it will not be explicit nor will it take over the story. It starts off slow, but will pick up speed quickly around chapter 26. Enjoy!
My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror was origonally started as a way to thank my patreons. I will be keeping the patreon updated 15 chapters in advance. Enjoy!

What is a woman to do after reincarnating? Her cultivation crippled, the realm she inhabited foreign, and even her old name lost to her. There was one familiar comfort left to Daphne in these trying times: shopping.
There were some fates worse than dying Daphne supposed. She could have been poor.
This is a comedic take on the adventures of a xianxia cold beauty.
Read the bloody story tags. All of them. Only warning.
Freya presents Chester with a choice: die as he was destined or be her champion and evangelist. Chester chooses life then embarks on an adventure to establish himself in a new life.
Join Chester as he explores his new magical realm, its people, its magic, and the new body Freya has foisted on him.
This is a story about the family we find for ourselves and embrace to face the dangers of a hostile world and how we are better for them.
Fair warning, this work is a first draft that I've put through Grammarly so expect me to add and change the story over time. I'll mention any significant changes in the notes of the latest chapters or here. If you spot a flaw, point it out, I'll address it. Same with any questions you may have, they will be answered, whether you find it on the first or last chapter, or the day the chapter comes out, or a year later.
Generally, expect about two weeks between chapters. Sometimes I'm faster, sometimes slower. Work...
The first rewrite is currently at Chapter 25. (I intend to leave most of Book one (ends Chapter 34) alone as far as development goes. I'm improving the grammar and characterization etc as best I can but the story will stay the same. Book two is already undergoing a large developmental edit as it's a much weaker book overall and lacks a good impetus. I do intend to end in the same place. It just needs work. So, please bear with me, and if you don't want to brave past book one, for now, it's probably not a bad idea. Give me a month or so to get it sorted. Thanks for your patience.) Be careful when demanding reparations from gods. They rarely own up to their mistakes.
Due to a goddess's shortsighted error, Perry finds himself transported to a distant Universe with new proportions and a different identity. Instead of cowering before the deity, he demands she opens a portal home or provides reparations for him and his bereaved family. Unfortunately, standing up for himself doesn't earn Perry respect. Instead, she curses him with cowardice, limiting his combat and magical potential.
Little does the goddess know that nothing can stand in the way of Perry's sheer will. If brute strength and arcane might won't get him the justice he desires, wit and creativity will.
Perry's first target? A goblin shaman. Then, the world.
And so begins, the bard's ballad.
Posting 5 times a week from Monday to Friday!
Bard's Ballad takes place in the same extended Universe as my other story, The Houndsman. It's set on a distant 'disk', though. As a result, the magic system is unique in comparison and has a harder LitRPG system. While the story utilises stats, it doesn't take them seriously and occasionally makes fun of regular LitRPG mechanics.
This story is co-authored by J Pal.
He originally wrote it as The Halfwit Halfling but got tired of number-heavy LitRPGs.
I've taken over the story-boarding and the tale uses names/locations from the old story but not the same plot progression.
I dropped the prison break theme and have given the book a proper villain (a goblin shaman). As a result, the story shouldn't be mistaken as a slice of life despite the protagonist's combat limitations.
Perry uses wit to overcome challenges instead of brawn or arcana.

THE STORY IS CURRENTLY BEING EDITED. It was brought to my attention via very rudely worded comments and slightly more eloquent, but still very upsetting for me, reviews that much of the way I wrote the early parts of the story came across as creepy when I meant them to be funny. I do not appreciate personal attacks on me, but I can appreciate that the early draft needed much improvement.
If you catch up to the edited chapters, they are labeled, and still find things that rub you the wrong way, please politely point them out in the comments so that I may address them.
1. This story is more Slice of Life than most xianxia, if you are looking for non-stop action and face slapping, wrong story for you.
2. Once again, this is Slice of Life and Slow-burn. I've gotten multiple comments about how it moves too slowly for a xianxia, yes that is kind of the point.
3. One of the top reviews mention that I've wasted my story on wish fulfillment, this is true. I write this story to fulfill the wish I'd had for a story written the way I enjoy reading one. That is why I write, I am not an author I am just a reader who got bored of seeing the same thing rehashed.
4. In addition, MC is trap(ish) while young *maybe later as well. I won't say that it is for any purpose other than my own entertainment, as obviously I could have written it differently if I didn't think it'd be funny. If that's going to make you puke in your mouth because you can't appreciate the fact that it's supposed to be funny, then don't stop reading.
That being said, I appreciate all readers including the ones who just complain on every chapter, love yall.
5. Many of the tags I clicked may not come into effect for some time, or ever, but are something I am considering heavily when it comes to adding to the story.
6. I usually have one to two grammatical errors per upload, minimum. It's not because of my lack of command over the english language, but because my editing program, microsoft word (I know, I know) is equally bad at detecting my grammatical blunders as I am. I patch them as I see them (comments are cool, enjoy the +rep) but sometimes I am a little slow.
7. I wear many hats and do not always write frequently. I'm sure this will get regular updates during the new story high, but I do not know where it will go from there. This is my first time attempting to write xianxia and I am doing so to practice my writing craft and expand my skillset. Story probably gets updated once a week when its active, maybe more or less often over on patreon.
There lies a rock. It sleeps within a cavern, alongside a marbled altar, and in the company of a glowing, green gem.
There lies a world. It waits with bated breath, as its sentient beings are put through the meat grinder that is the tutorial
There lies a couple, who know not what this system offers, nor what it might entail for their world. All they know is that they must live.
This is the story of how that one rock averts the fate of this doomed world, and does its best to save this group of friends.

All the cool kids are reading it... How about you?

Together with a mysterious sentient robot and an overworked college student, they must keep Atlanta safe from the technological threats that arise... pretty much constantly... Sigh.
ATL is divided into several novel or novella-sized stories, and the entire first season is online on Royal Road for you to gobble up like a robot filling up at a power socket.
And if you're itching for more, always know you can read the story at its official website too.

Our story begins 20 odd years after the events of the animes, manga, and games. Now don't worry, we'll explore all the regions.
However, not everything translates so cleanly into a more realistic setting, while other things just get better. No convenient inventory systems. That Pidgy ain't flying anyone anywhere, and your Bagon can't call meteors from the sky. The realities of the food chain trumps any children's media restrictions. Nearly all the mythics and legendries, can't feasibly be one of a kind. Shinys come in all varieties.
Research has advanced in some areas, for good or ill. All the evil organizations that were yesterdays news have splintered apart, remnants lurk in shadow.
Your favorite characters have all grown older, some have had children, others may have even died. Towns prosper or fall, new gyms start up while others might close down. New Champions have been crowned, new Leagues have formed!
The Next Generation is starting their journey.
Now, Dimensional portal shenanigans are nothing new to the pokemon world, But... Kurt, is.
Sure, some folks might raise a brow at a 30ish year old man that should probably be in an action movie rather than the Hoenn Rookie League, but Kurt's ready for adventure. He might also wish he played more than the first two games... or remembered anything about himself.

Striving for the stars is a trope-tastic, coming of age space opera, for young adults and the young at heart.

Does have GL subplot later on.
Warning: Since some people do not seem to get the slice of life idea, this story is SLOW. There is action and I intend to write more of it but don't come here expecting it to be the focus 24/7.
A young woman from Earth wakes up in a cave, disoriented, confused, amnesic and with her lower body replaced by that of a giant spider. She has no idea what she stumbled into and all the extra sensations were definitely not helping. "Did I get reincarnated into a fantasy world?" She's not quite sure. But, the goblin, the troll and (soon enough) the hot elf all suggest "yes."
As much as it creeps her out, her new body is powerful and flexible in some very interesting 'spidery' ways as she slowly learns to live with it. Combined with what modern knowledge she can still remember, the newly christened Elania soon finds herself building a new life as an adventurer among the elves.
Who knows what awaits her?
Maybe, just maybe, she might even find happiness along the way.
There will be a fair amount of errors in writing up until chapter 43 (where I got a proper proofreader/editor to help me out.) Chapters 1-20 or so will at some point receive partial rewriting because I don't quite like the flow and feel there are some parts that don't make as much sense as they should.
Please don't suggest edits for chapters up until 43, anything after that, feel free to in case we missed anything.

NOTE: Chapters 02 - 19 are currently slated for review and rewrite following the Conclusion of Act I. Please bear this in mind!

He will need to learn the secrets of the mysterious System that allows him to guide his potential for growth even as he struggles to unlock the powers needed to keep himself alive.
In the darkest, and most desolate places of an ancient land he will have to find the answers to forbidden questions, and terrible secrets long purged from the histories of mankind.
And in so doing, shake the very foundations of reality itself.

The Vitaean Chronicles are a debut LitRPG High Fantasy series written with the intent of filling a niche I've yet to see filled anywhere else. This is my first novel of this kind, so please be patient with me.
Throughout this story, I will endeavour to create an evolving and expansive narrative anchored around believable characters, compelling plotlines, and a consistent and sensible magic system.
The purpose of this work is to create what I believe to be a relatively unique piece of fiction, drawing inspiration from many great stories that have come before from the likes of Tolkien, Jordan, Hertbert, Goodkind, Pratchett, Martin, and several others.
My goal is not to create a masterpiece, but simply to create a story that someone can read and re-read with the same joy, same frustration, and same investment each time.
This story will contain violence, politics, Shakespearian drama, tongue-in-cheek references, adult content, and well-crafted relationships of both platonic and romantic natures.
I will not promise you will like every choice I make.
I can only guarantee that I will do my best to create a story I, and you, can be proud of.
As I progress, I will have room to incorporate fan-made characters for those interested in making their mark within the tapestry of this tale (with the customary disclaimer that they do so while waiving any rights to future profit, lol).
Thank you to Royal Road for giving me the platform to do that, and thank you dear readers past, present, and future for choosing to come on this journey with me.
Finally, just to cover myself: This work is Copyrighted to the Author herein known as 'Hannibal Forge', and recreation, distribution, or re-release of any material herein in a commercial or public capacity absent permission from the Author can and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.
I always wanted to be taken to another world, and as they say, there are no atheists in the foxhole that we call real life. I prayed, and prayed, and prayed until one day, I opened my eyes to see my dream had come true.
I also saw the axe of an orc bearing down on my skull. You win some, you lose some.
A time-loop fantasy story written after getting into litRPGs a bit. I wondered what it would be like if I just went and wrote a story about all the things I liked in web fiction without holding back: time loops, RPG stats, certain character archetypes, and harems played straight. Please be warned of lewd descriptions and depraved sexualization. If nothing else, this will be a sincere work.

Ragna Griffin thought she had figured out the world. Only once her kingdom brands her a terrorist must she learn how complex reality can be. Now, she just wants her old life back. To become a Valkyrie, Altera Xion must capture Ragna's father, who holds the key to a plot that could start a new world war. Yet, her worst enemy will be her own anxiety.
For the sake of their goals, the two must set aside their differences, embark on a journey through Aes, and gather allies. Aes, however, is a cruel future fantasy world full of horrors and secrets. Each day, their minds and convictions drift closer to their limits, their dreams further slipping away.
In the end, will they persevere or shatter?
