Humanity is extinct.
In their wake, they left behind powerful artifacts and wonderous relics, most of which are still yet to be discovered.
Alien life flourishes in the ruins of ancient human cities. Hundreds of distinct species and cultures. But they all worship the "Old Ones" as gods, for who else could have created these impossible devices: ships that can fly, droids that can think, and gates that form bridges between worlds.
One power-hungry Empire has learned to use these gifts to conquer and dominate all other alien cultures. With each passing day, they grind the people of Gaiam deeper under the bootheel of oppression.
But when an old, jaded thief stumbles upon an ancient, living secret... a new revolution may be at hand.
This is the story of The Last Human.
Jason had thought about punching a Shil’vati.
Not only had the aliens conquered Earth with almost trivial ease, the seven-foot purple amazons also had the audacity to start running the planet better than Humanity ever had.
He'd never do it though. He was a reasonable guy, just trying to get by under his new feminine overlords.
(The story has a single M/M NSFW scene in chapter nineteen. If that's a deal breaker for you, I'd give this a miss)
[Note: The Eternal Lion is NOT the protagonist of the story.]
The Eternal Lion, Conqueror of the 98th floor, Paragon of Destruction watched in horror as his companions were slain, one by one, by "that" existence. Humanity had made a fundamental mistake from the beginning, for this was no fair trial.
His rage knew no bounds, but alas it was to no avail. The only reason he still drew breath was because of 'that' existences' twisted desire to make him watch as it slowly killed the last of his loyal companions.
He only saw one final glimmer of hope to overturn this accursed outcome, which lay in the reward for completing the hidden piece on the 98th floor.
Allow your knowledge and experience to flow back in the river of time, back to the beginning of the Primordial Tower's awakening on Earth. Entrust the fate of humanity to one of your kind.
Cost of Activation: Erasure of existence from the river of time.
To think that all his efforts would only lead to becoming a stepping stone for another. With a final roar in defiance, he activated the skill.
"Let the roar of the eternal lion tear through the boundaries of time"
Cover credits: I have the best cover, it was drawn by my 12 year old sister on procreate by hand.
Join the Species Tournament! You might lose your sanity, and quite possibly, your life. But hey, great adventure awaits.
Who would accept such a deal and risk it all for glory and the unknown? Well, apparently quite a few. In fact, 1.000.000 life forms will face each other in this century’s tournament.
Who will win and who’ll be sent packing? Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma?
Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament!
Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try):
- It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World.
- The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways.
- Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses.
- There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on.
- You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them.
- The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions.
- Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable.
Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
Two of his men are dead, power is out, and radios are reduced to crackly paperweights. Hank looked over to the distance, watching as the chopper carrying the VIPs grew to a dot in the horizon.
Left behind and nowhere to go but down, Hank must lead his remaining men and a team of bodyguards down the floors where monsters see humans as nothing but food.
After that? Who knows.
First, they have to get this minigun to work.
Disclaimer time. I plan to introduce magic in this fic as a slow progression so people arent going to start throwing fireballs at each other in the beggining because of established plot lines. There will be no overpowered MC in this fic. No System. Guns will work until they are broken or ran out of ammunition and the military will be competent but will take time to be mobilized.
Just so you know what you're jumping into.
If you find any mistakes, pls point them out. They are greatly appreciated.
If you have anything to say about the fiction, pls say them. Any input goes far into improving the fiction.
If you got something good to say to me, tell them. I do like some pats on the back once in a while.
Releases are three times a week. A bonus chapter will be added when we reach milestones.
Jack just crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated...
ATTENTION: Before you read further there's something you should know about this story. This story is a slow burn. While action, adventure, and romance are all important to this story, they are not the focus of it, the characters and their development are. Every character is intentionally introduced with deep flaws that they have to overcome, turn into strengths, or learn to accept as they grow into their own version of a complete individual. Not all of them will start out or end up likable. I try and keep a relatively upbeat tone throughout the story, but as it progresses many deeper and heavier emotions will be addressed as what initially seems like a simple adventure becomes more complex as each decision branches off into more and more unintended consequences. All that being said, for those of you who do read this story, thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy!
Hundreds of years ago, during a calamity that tested mankind in ways familiar and strange, an ancient being ascended. He became an Aspect, a cosmic power capable of felling worlds with a wave of his hand. In the aftermath of the calamity, he shielded mankind from the predation of other cosmic powers and gave them a foothold in the Age of Mana. Yet for all his importance, little is known of the entity aside from his title.
Where did he come from? How did he attain the power of an Aspect? What is his history with humanity?
A young man meets with the Father and an age-old pact is called. Instead of wealth, power, or fame, a wish for truth is spoken from the heart.
This is the Father's story.
The Urban Fantasy and Post-Apocalypse tags will be hinted at but not overt until the 3rd arc which starts at Advent 3.1: The Great Dream. The Gamelit aspects come into play in the 4th arc.

"What existed before the Big Bang?", "Why are 7/11 taquitos so good?", and "What lies at the boundaries of our universe?" are all questions that have forever haunted the best and greatest minds humanity could offer. Questions which we may never hope to understand. At least, not until the ever expanding Multiverse beyond rips apart the boundaries we once had and absorbs our own little slice of Greater Space. In our return to relative civilization, how will humanity fare against the innumerable denizens of the countless stars beyond our own? Will we even survive our home planet, now refurbished with the mystical energy of the cosmos? John Mermous, house-husband-cum-author-cum-father, has absolutely no idea. But, if sci-fi space magic and annoying fairies can keep his daughter safe and reunite his family, he'll take whatever he can get.

Rainbow Destructor is a dizzying flash of color splashed onto the page as the seven-woman crew of the XSS Savior must save the galaxy from an impending threat that defies not only physics, but everything you’ve ever expected in a space adventure story.
This story was originally written with one chapter every single day throughout 2017, so it is a bit free-form and experimental compared to the typical serial sci-fi piece. Take this journey only if you’re ready for some strange occurrences, alright?
Eihks Richard is an edutainer between productions, when he and other citizens from the Parsed City-State of Rhaagm volunteer for a little poorly-justified charitable work. Ktsn Wdondf Daephod is a farmer dealing with family discord, when she and everyone she has ever known unwittingly benefit from philanthropy undertaken for the wrong reasons. The two of them come together, thanks to the involvement of a supernatural entity of strange and terrible power. Both break from their old lives, and forge a new one together as partners, to explore the wild unknown. It will be hard, and it will be interesting, and it will be both a journey and a revival.
You've heard all the scary, gothic tales about the Demon Lord. In fact, you humans will root for the Hero who will defeat & SLAY THE DEMON LORD~
Well that's not the case for Branshire's Hero, Francis Goodlight, who's quite demanding & overconfident, not to mention he's so narcissistic, that he can slay all those Demon Generals in a short time. That's until he got beaten by a beautiful young-looking woman with purple hair, who admits she's living in the Demon Lord's castle.
Furious of being humiliated of his defeat in front of his regular pub, the Hero makes his way to the castle to slay her. Except she was gone with a note saying: "I'm gonna need an author to write my story so please don't bother me."
And when he arrives in the new world she's in, the Arrogant Hero/Plank is in for a ride of a slice-of-life(time) of being more unfortunate than The God of Poverty.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:
1. This is NOT a LitRPG in the traditional sense.
2. This is a story about STRUGGLE and HARD EARNED GLORY, not rainbows and lollipops.
Thanks for reading!
A young man who is ordinary in every way by the name of Noah recently moved to a new city in the hopes of changing his luck after a string of failed dates and losing his unremarkable job in pursuit of new opportunities. Noah's world does change, but not in the way that Noah had imagined it would in his wildest fantasies.
This story begins with the appearance of a fleet of unknown spacecraft arriving above all of the major settlements and cities of Earth causing widespread panic and chaos to become commonplace. The alien fleet is controlled by an unimaginably advanced artificial intelligence that oversees all activity on arrival, known as 'the System'. A voice that doesn't use words appears inside the mind of every living creature on the planet and labels them as 'System Users' and is recognized as belonging to the alien artificial intelligence, offering Users a path to power and immortality. The voice announces that the [Trial Phase] has now begun.
Shortly afterward, the sky became cloaked in fire. The dead began to rise again as demonic creatures that appeared as twisted parodies of what they were in life. Users began to awaken supernatural abilities that allowed them to combat this new threat at the cost of civilization as we know it. The System's motives are a mystery that must be uncovered as the fate of the world rests firmly in its grasp.
Does the arrival of the System herald the world's hope for salvation or is it the cause of its tragic downfall?

A single Sister Earth observes human life from afar, silently lending a helping hand until one day she requires help from an unlikely ally.
The bright red light of the flames swallowed her vision but soon that red light transformed into a blue hue and she was dragged into that light.
It was too bright and she was forced to close her eyes, she was blinded — even though she was already dead.
After being pulled into the light she began to feel annoyed as her skin was irritated by some kind of rough sand.
By the time she opened her eyes. She could see the full view of the sky. It was blue and there were clouds scattered about.
‘Ugh, is this Hell?’
She stated as she rubbed her head with her fluffy and furry ‘hand’.
She looked at her ‘hands’ and her mouth opened wide. Her hands had become soft and fluffy paws of a white-furred beast with purple spots.
‘What the hell?’
She touched her face with her paws and confirmed that it too did not belong to a human. Below, she felt something was moving, she can tell as if it was another limb connected to her.
‘Don’t tell me!’
Turning her head around, she found a seven-inch tail sticking out behind.
‘Phew!’ She felt relieved that it wasn’t what she thought it was.
“These soft and paws, this cuddly fluffy hair, this cute tail — ah shit, did I become a beast after my death or have I been dreaming of being human as a beast all this time? If it is the latter that is one long and realistic dream.”
[It’s the former, stupid *]
Said a woman’s voice from in her head.
As always thank you for reading, also the image in the cover is not mine, I found it on Pinterest and thought it was cool and suitable. All credits got to the illustrator.
Also, this is a new type of story that I have not read about yet. Basically I am writing an evolution novel without prior knowledge so I don't really know what is considered cliche in this genre.
