A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth.
The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth.
The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money.
So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different?
Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story.
Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is.
The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.
Fantasy and SF meet in this unique portal novel. Five unique kingdoms are locked in a war quite unlike any other. But it is in the Kingdom of the Stone God that Aelia lives: a not-so-special girl who is desperate to be accepted by the Mage Academy.
But if she's nothing special, why are such strange things happening to her?
Like the distant voices she hears that are telling absurdities about reality.
Like the details she's starting to notice that no one else seems to.
Like how quickly she's able to learn and improve.
Could Aelia have been born for a greater purpose -- a purpose she's somehow forgotten?
Splintered Worlds combines portal fantasy with a unique fantasy setting.
Goburi was a goblin, a very poor goblin and now that she was dying that meant one thing, she could not even pay the toll to cross into the afterlife.
Goblins worshipped gold, gold watched over them and Goburi had never earned or lost a mote, finding herself to be something of a heritic. Like most descisions in life it had felt like the nobler pursuit at the time, but with the darkness closing in, she realized how terrified she was. Even if she had died in debt, the great elusive glimmer in the depths would have put her soul in a new body, bringing with her the debt and some vague memories. Another chance to die in the black.
Goburi's last thoughts were dark specters of regret chasing themselves in circles of thought until she prayed for it to be done. She really had no idea where the souls of goblin heritics went, it had never really happened before.
A new dungeon was born, a crystal of pure magic containing a soul that failed to pass to the afterlife. As it gained awareness something else came through that was never supposed to be there. Memories of a workshop, and an uncomfortable need to earn gold.
After discovering his wife was cheating on him while he was on deploying, Elliot Richardson was driving back to base when he found himself swept into a world of magic and mystery, a world where he might make a new life for himself ... or be destroyed by forces beyond his ken.
Set in the author’s Schooled in Magic universe, Stuck in Magic is largely stand alone.
Two great powers wage war. The first, a steampunk dystopia that harnesses the power of science and engineering... And the second, a magical monarchy hellbent on their destruction. The Kynda against the Forlorn. After two centuries of stalemate, the Forlorn have won a major victory that spells certain doom for the Kynda. Can science survive amongst the merciless onslaught of magic?

The world of Matrea was attacked by a vagrant god. The Chief God of Matrea and a few minor gods managed to destroy most of the vagrant god, however, the vagrant god managed to slip a fragment of himself into Matrea, giving birth to a powerful Demon King.
Distressed, the Chief God summoned four heroes to help the inhabitants of matrea, but the four heroes were still defeated and the Demon King successfully conquered Matrea.
Unwilling to give up, The Chief God created the fifth hero and sent him 30 years prior to the Demon King's birth. With the help of the fifth, along with the four heroes and Matrea's inhabitants, the war shall begin anew.
Kingdom of dragons
swords and magic
Hello again folks
This is my second attempt in creating a story!
By the way, I Love Dragons!
beware: I'm not an English speaking native, I apologize for the Engrish and wrong grammarszzz!
Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret passage beneath his Mistress's mansion. However, it leads nowhere. Not willing to believe that his discovery bore no fruit, Shoes uses whatever free time he has to chip away at the brick walls. He spends the week hoping that the tunnel is actually leading somewhere.
Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret passage beneath his Mistress's mansion. It leads nowhere. However, Shoes discovers that the wall is damaged at one section. Someone was obviously trying to dig their way somewhere. Hoping he would find a way to escape, Shoes continues chipping away at the wall.
Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret passage beneath his Mistress's mansion. There is a hole at the end of the corridor, which leads to a dark chamber. Brick walls, low ceiling, the room's only feature is a stone altar in the middle. It's not the escape route Shoes hoped for, but he is happy with his discovery nevertheless. The room could be a perfect hideout.
Shoes, slave of Miranda Alexia Dawngrove, finds a secret chamber beneath his Mistress's mansion. At first glance it seems to be empty, but he notices a straw mattress in one corner. There is a slave uniform on the makeshift bed. As he picks up the clothes, a small wooden figurine falls to the ground. Rough shape, amateurish carving; it's the exact copy of the statuette Shoes has in his pocket.
I post at least once a week.
I cannot promise you a story you enjoy reading, but I can promise you a story I enjoy writing.
The sword is greater than a simple weapon; an answer to life's questions.
An extension of thine master's hand, guided by wrist.
Care it not whether guilty or innocent blood shed, for be it a mere edge, a weapon.
For blade that forgets or refuses to cut be shameful, meaningless, disgraceful. Nay, be it considered a tool at all?
What dost the weapon do when the steel hath no guide, that the master hath mingled far?
Doth it Stay? Perhaps quiver at possibility, the loss of reason for existence?
Or does it go forth into the unknown, guided by merely the wind and the edge?
A wandering sword, a phantom blade-
A lone Samurai.

In this world of Terrapia, myth states that Dragons are caretakers of the chaos wheel, a band of energy that encircles the world, penetrating through the very fabric of the dimension.
They tame and convert it, not only to fuel their primal magic, but also to gentler forms that man and beast alike can tap.
But now they have faded away, being sighted less and less the past couple millennia.
With magic weakening, science has taken root and in many cases merged in a symbiosis with magic.
Guppy Bright, a 17 year old young woman, is a technomancer apprentice living in the bustling city of Nolusburg trying to make ends meet.
Apprenticed to the enigmatic and somewhat crazy Technomancer Friedrich BrassTuner, she participates in an experiment meant to tap a new rich source of energy.
However something goes horribly wrong and a rip in the very fabric of reality opens in the workshop, sucking in her mentor and ejecting a dying white dragon.
The dragon, after examining her, takes a gamble and entwines their souls, an act that causes the dragon, Barthurthalomalew Dresnarian Kratomanger Harrowhew Objuslorow, the 5th, aka Batty, to regress into a baby dragon, sealing much of his powers and memories in the process.
This act also has profound effects on Guppy, her own magic is now crazily changed in ways no one, least of all her, understands.
Guppy is suddenly plunged into a world of mystery, intrigue and politics, where everyone either wants to control, or eliminate her.
Armed with little but her courage and unpredictable newfound magic how will she survive and protect herself and those she loves when everyone from techno radicals, magic purists, politicians and guttersnipes are out to get her.
And those may be the least of her problems if Batty's fragmented memories are any indicator.
My name is Casper Kingsley and I hate my new job.
Because of my towns corrupt government, the wealthy land owners who have used technology to raise luxury islands in the sky have got us regular folk drafted into shipping, to keep thier floating homes supplied. I was a bird tamer before, making a good living having birds send courier messgaes all over town. Now i'm a lowly sailor, miserable at sea, scrubbing floors and eating bad food.
Then a freak turn of events leaves me the only surivior on the ship, and I get a hold of an engine that can take it into the sky! This might be my only chance of freedom. I'm going to build an airship, find a crew and make myself the captain! Nobody will ever give me orders again!
Disclaimer: This book contains harem elements and swashbuckling danger with moderate violence.
They didn't move for a thousand years...
"Admiral Grant," the King suddenly shouted.
The soldier's head snapped up in surprise. "Yes, Your Majesty?"
"Wake the Giant."
The rust peeled off like dead skin, falling into the ocean and revealing the shining metal body beneath. The ground shook as the gears began to turn, their grinding heard for miles.
Story based in the same universe as my other story, Gamer's Guide to Waking up as a Dinosaur.
A young fire elemental, Tya Maraise, has lived her life in isolation for some time while creating a human body to mask the fire within. After managing to create something sufficient that’ll allow her to blend, she begins the process of learning more about human behavior only to find herself dragged into a royal mess she wants very little to do with.
[ Book Three. All books are standalone and do not need to be read in order. ]
EVERY STORY STARTS SOMEWHERE - EVEN THE ONES THAT DON'T END WELL
Prestige Gaming CEO Ravindra Pradthala’s dream has finally come true– a truly customizable nanotechnology game park that beats Virtual Reality in every and any way. A Gamer’s Paradise that uses your real body in real life, augmented by the tremendous power of nanites. But luxuries such as these always come at a cost– and now Ravindra, his family, a host of other people, his mom, your mom, everyone’s mom and maybe even the tooth fairy are all set to see just how high the bill can be for such arrogance and hubris.
This is the pre-reader to a ten book pyramid serial that involves the first 4 books as origin stories and then the rest as them all, heroes and villains, interacting and battling with each other as the world’s premier nanotech theme park breaks down and becomes increasingly deadly as the nanotechnology spirals out of control. It is a gray goo LitRPG scenario involving multiple types of gamers who will increasingly have their abilities augmented over the whole world. Enjoy!
Like many others across the multiverse, Markus was chosen as this world's hero to fight against the steadily approaching cataclysm. Only, something went horribly wrong. Left with only a handful of memories, Markus has spent years clawing his way up from poverty and officially registered as an adventurer to try and make his fortune. Unfortunately, Artificers are the least combat-capable class of the four classes, and Markus has no connections to join an established party. With the fate of countless worlds hanging in the balance, a chance meeting will determine the course of a war nearly as old as reality itself.
The story will bounce predominantly back and forth between the primary protagonists every couple of chapters. The time stream is linear, so events are not revisted/rehashed/retold through the narrative format. Characters may comment on something that has occurred, but that's different. Just giving a heads up.
Chapters will be around 5-9k and updated 1/week on the same schedule as my other story Ogre Tyrant over the weekend.
Those who are as different from other men as the soul from the body or man from beast are slaves by nature. For them it is better to be ruled in accordance with this sort of rule, if such is the case for the other things mentioned. It is not advantageous for one to be held in slavery who is not a natural slave, for such a condition is sustained solely by force and results in enmity.
Not all slaves are in chains.
Not all slaves even realize that they are slaves.
What is the truth of this world?
The Logos are the Words of God.
Time waits for man.
I am in need of usernames for player characters for this story. See this thread for more information!
On the 10 year anniversary update of MMORPG Annwyn Online, millions of players around the world suddenly find themselves pulled into the world of Gaea in the bodies of their characters with access to all their spells, items, and levels.

The Soul Forgers are not silent out of malice, but because they are all dead. Every player has unknowingly been drafted into an army as a last ditch plan to stop a great evil from extinguishing the sparks of life in both their worlds.
But even the best laid plans can go awry.
Soul Forged follows multiple characters, both Player and NPC, from different backgrounds as they navigate this new reality they find themselves in.

You will experience various adventures, cultures, civilizations, wars, and story-lines throughout the entire book.
I'm always willing to take new ideas or answer questions about the book, so feel free to leave a comment and let me hear your thoughts!
It's important to note that this book is inspired by karami92’s World Keeper.
