Lily Voirgaire is a girl born with extraordinary talent in a field of magic largely considered useless. She was content with that, happy simply to work diligently towards her goal, her dream of becoming a machinist, a creator of non-magical constructs. She loved her work, and she was good at it. She would spend every day working to get better at her craft, and would eventually become the best machinist in the land!
That was what she thought. That was what was supposed to happen.
But then an accident leaves her with a grave injury and tosses her leagues from her home city. This is the story of her journey.
THIS STORY IS ALSO AVAILABLE ON MY PERSONAL WEBSITE, EXTANTVISIONS (http://extantvisions.com)
Lily Ex Machina was completed in April 2017. To read the currently in-progress sequel(Seeking Elysium), please click >> HERE <<

So you know my friends story, you know Kevin Jones AKA, Jacob Longstrider. I am Jerrod, or Darren Shadowstep. The only problem is he is stuck between worlds right now with one chance at survival. They thing is, if word gets out that he is gone, the whole Empire he built will blow up...So a few of us got to work our asses off to protect what he has built and keep him safe, because if he dies for real...no one will survive that fallout.

April 1st. For eight minutes, a section of downtown Portland and everyone in it comes to a complete and absolute standstill. During that time a bank is robbed... and a young girl is murdered.
Three high school students, a shut in, a man involved in organized crime, and an amateur magician. The events of "the day the world stopped" start a chain reaction that will change the destinies of these six people, and the city, forever.
Think of a future Earth, where the long-dreaded nuclear war has come and gone, and the global population was knocked down to the level of the nineteen hundreds, but fully recovered and again prosperous, with the human race starting to explore the galaxy.
But when the humans get the inevitable proof that there was indeed other intelligent life, what if these aliens weren't terribly different from the humans, and what if these people were on the brink of war themselves...

But before he can, they must find the killer in order to put everything right, while a sinister plot takes shape in the darkness. Can they save her before it's too late?
Dante DeWisr is an ordinary military veteran, a desk jockey in the private sector. He wakes up with a hangover to the worst day of his- and everybody's life. Soon, his hangover is forgotten as frost settles in on the strangely dark July day.
A mix of light sci-fi with low fantasy in a post-apocalyptic setting in near future Earth. Follow Dante as he tries to make sense of a dead world.
Fed up with a world where science has made every fantasy a reality and people just don’t care about stories anymore, a young video game developer named Kai uses ancient black magic to transport himself into one of his games, titled: Choices.
Disturbed by his powerlessness on Earth, Kai makes sure to give himself the ability to change this new world as he sees fit, literally.
If you were ridiculously powerful, would you throw away all your morals and do whatever you wanted?
Would you find happiness? Would you find love? Or would you end up realizing that…
Absolute power is pretty depressing.

This is a VRMMORPG story, but the ones I've read tend to use VR as an excuse to get into a fantasy world and then don't really play up the game aspect other than pulling up a status screen every now and then. To me, MMOs are about more than the fantasy setting.
Bugs, exploits, devs who don't understand their own game, OP classes, over the top nerfs, p2w, ridiculous RNG, cash shop fiasco, lockboxes, raging players, broken mechanics, limited bag space, tedious crafting and above all that, a company trying to squeeze money out if its playerbase while pretending they're just in the business of having fun.
Of course, then there's the orcs and elves.
This story is about finding yourself in a completely immersive fantasy game, but it's also about what a game like that would really be like.
In 2029, thirteen unearthly structures called Doorways appeared across the world. Any human that entered immediately disappeared. Thousands were never seen again, but every once in a while, someone would come back out after a few days, garbed in strange clothing and possessing superhuman powers. Despite the odds, many of the desperate, ambitious, and hopeful surged through the Doorways in search of personal power.
Eleven years have passed, and the world has undergone catastrophic changes as the result of superhuman conflict. Entire continents and civilizations have been lost, a supervillain epidemic threatens those societies that remain, and the world's greatest superhero team has just been destroyed. In the wake of this latest tragedy, a band of powerful superhuman bounty hunters comes together to track down the source of these disasters, and perhaps save what remains of the falling world.
Shawn Bradshaw has made a desperate gamble. To save his life he risked it all in an attempt to become digitized. Knowing almost nothing about the greater Digital community or if he will be allowed to join, how Digital existence is experienced, or even if he will be relegated to a Digital zoo.
Shawn's success in obtaining immortality is but the start of his journey. Thrust into the kingdom of Loson's political intrigue, friends become enemies, allies manipulate and control, Shawn must decide how much assistance he is willing to let his allies provide and if he wants to count them as enemies instead.
Oblivious and ignorant of the culture, manipulated, reveling in his new found freedom even as he is chained socially, Shawn must decide on his long term goals and what he is willing to give up to achieve them.
The Immortal Wizard must decide what kind of legend he will leave behind.
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself.
Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters.
Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake.
“You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper.
“Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.”
Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.”
The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else…
Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws.
The drake had been reborn...
As a Human.

This was a rough draft. Quite a meh one. The newer version is These Games of Ours.
Lucious is deserter among many, living by dagger and beggary.
Argento’s thirst for knowledge is endless, as is his belly.
Kora is the perfect soldier, yet her sword grows dull in monotony.
Formally known as the Empire's legend, the Captain is now stuck in stagnation.
The Gods, grown weary of human deeds, have decided to indulge themselves in a different way.
THE 7 REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF
- Clichés shall be avoided like the cancerous tumors they are.
- The world shall not spread its pink butt cheeks for the main character’s convenience.
- No character shall be thinner than one slice of white American cheese.
- No female character shall serve to highlight how overpowered and fabulous the main character is.
- No villain shall serve to highlight how overpowered and fabulous the main characters are.
- Grammar laws shall be upheld sometimes.
- I, the author, swear not to be a prick. I, the author, swear not to go away without warning.
If other LitRPGs are like Skyrim, then this is going to be a combination of Dark Souls and Total War. Don't expect action for the sake of action. Be warned, this is a slow novel. Read the reviews to see if this novel is a decent fit for you.
Disclaimer: I do not own that gorgeous cover art.
Michael has a few problems... besides being dead... ish...
He finds himself in a new world. In a new body.
But with a few more appendages than he is used to and the concept of near immortality facing him, he is having a rather hard time coping. Luckily, the body's ex-tenant is there to help.
(Should have started here first. The story is being updated and revised. There will be several chapters added and Revelations will be incorperated into it as well. Revelations will then be removed.)
Black Iron & Cinder is complete and will no longer be updated except for important announcements. If you're interested, consider purchasing the published version on Amazon, which is a brand new revision with error fixes and approximately 2000 more words in length.
Also, please check out my newest fiction, The Wolf of Asano.
Six months ago, a colorless miasma swept across the entire northern section of the continent of Yhordran, creating a vast army of undead that lurks within its boundaries. A foreign knight in self-exile from his home is one of those Mistwalkers, and on a desperate journey for meaning, he steps into the grey abyss with the company of Yhordran natives to make his way 400 miles north to reach the plague's epicenter.
