Set in a future where humans are extinct, a hybrid race emerges from the ashes of a war four centuries old. These are a blend of human and an alien species called the Atra. These humatrans have inherited what remains of the decimated planet Earth. The abilities they’ve been born with have the potential of saving the future or condemning it.

A note from the Author:
PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback.
I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is six books and roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for reading.

Tom, as is his species in general, is new to the galactic stage and the weirdness that comes with all these new species. Despite his reservations towards a species that uses fire for practically everything, he can’t help but ask this strange human more and more questions. That this would lead to a lasting friendship and an invitation to this pyromaniac beings house, he could not have predicted.
I would love to have some feedback from you to polish my writing. Please be gentle, as this is only my fifth short-story.
The picture is from Preppy Kitchen. They also own the recipe I build the story around. I just really liked the cookies and the idea of an alien being baffled by them.
He survived. He doesn't know if that's what he would have chosen. He keeps wetting the bed.
