Hello dear readers,
As the author of Dragon Road: How I Rise in My New Life, there was a time where I didn't have access to my drafts for DR, so I decided to make this little 'oneshot' or short story based on my next work.
You won't be able to tell mostly from the oneshot alone, but it's inspired by Underworld, Hellboy, Guyver, and Bloody Roar, so I'm really excited on how it's going to turn out!
Please let me know how you feel about it or if there are any pointers you'd like to give. If it gets popular, I might decide to make a full novel of it alongside DR, otherwise I'll work on it after I'm done with my current novel. Enjoy!
P.S. The cover image is just something I found off Google. If the owner would like me to take it down, please PM me to let me know.
This story is of a Certain Boy whose life changed drastically after an attempt of Time Travel which caused him to jump in Another Dimension and who would have thought that this boy was the one who was going to save the whole world.
Teenage Krystal has no recollection of much of her childhood and suffers from an unknown mental disorder. She and her adoptive parents move to Florida where she quickly makes new friends during summer vacation. However, Krystal's past and mental disorder are tied to a much bigger picture, and her gradual awakening brings peril and woe.
Strange powers begin to manifest within Krystal and her new friends. Changes in weather patterns occur without explanation. Nightmares and visions continually haunt them. When mysterious and dangerous foes appear to upset the peace, the fight begins.
This new town and new life are Krystal's perfect world, after all. Will she decide if it is worth the cost of a soul?
2038, California. Stan is doing his mandatory "volunteer" service years on a collective farm when he encounters Thousand Tales, a game that offers immortality to the super-rich. He can't afford to have his brain uploaded like those elite customers, but maybe he can turn a profit out of the game instead of just playing it. Not as a legendary swordsman or a brilliant wizard, but as a dealer in the junk no one else seems to want. If he plays his cards right, he can draw the attention of both the farm's supervisor and the game's ruling, meddling AI. Should he, though?
LitRPG. Part of the world of "Thousand Tales", a novel series on Amazon, though no knowledge of it is expected. This story is around 12K words long. I'd appreciate feedback to help write a much longer version! Updates every few days. Cover art from game-icons.net, by Lorc, CC-BY.
Update! This story was originally called "Gleaners' Guild". It came out on Amazon under the name "Crafter's Passion" and has many reviews there, thanks in part to the support of RR readers like you. Thanks! It even has a sequel, "Crafter's Heart".

But this time, rather than the Cloning vats, the reek of things rotting came from the Mess Hall.
"Off the Vat" is a complete, very short novel (around 20,000 words across 7 chapters), inspired by the recloning mechanic that Sci Fi MMOs like EVE Online or The Repopulation use to explain why players respawn.

Sebastio the Effulgent has been Lord of Pennat Gate for more than a hexadecade following the events of that day called the Western Sunrise. In the pyres that lament the many deaths of that tribulation, the place he has worked to turn into an asylum for the downtrodden has prospered. Some of the Yrdkish peerage, and some of those far removed from such status, disagree with Pennat Gate’s position, politics, and rulership. A few are not satisfied merely with seditious talk. A few possess frighteningly capable means with which to undermine causes of questionable nobility. A few want to see the experiment flourish, so that it might be ripped out roots and all. A fiery furnace awaits, and it hungers for both metal to shape and tinder to reduce to dust. When strange intelligent Beasts begin to appear on the lidar, they become the Toledo steel that will either straighten the extrafacetary territories’ spine, or leave it forever hunchbacked.
Defenders of the colonies, lawmen and arbitrators who settle disputes. Their sole function is to serve and protect the people. They are the Rocket Patrol!
A generic romance story between a boy and a girl.

The Sultanate won a huge battle against their enemies of different religion, and now left them with only a piece of land surrounded by Sultanate's forces. Baybur, a yerliyya from a backwater place, is hailed as a hero after the war for his past contributions in a strange manner and is, thus, invited to a banquet prepared by the Sultan and attended by many Great Nobles. To Baybur, who had dreams of stepping on a higher stage in Sultanate's politics, and in his Orta's ranks, this is a chance for him to shine and rise.
Yet he, and many in the banquet, knows that victory is far from over. And this presents a chance, with greater risk than before, to impress the Sultan and the Pashas of the Sultanate. Sanjak-beys and Aghas of the Janissary Corps all seek to devour their enemies, both in and out of the Sultanate. And Baybur, in the midst of this brewing storm, is no different from a fish dreaming to be a dragon.
But a woman he meets at the banquet changes everything; his goals, his dreams, and his fate.
After all, love, without expression, is a deadly curse.
As a note, Cover is not mine obviosuly, and I write this both for NaNoWriMo and Writathon. To some history lovers and nerds who specialize in it, I know you might be angered quite a deal with some things I've written.(I get the feeling when someone talks wrong foolish things in a study I know, no hate) But this is a historical fiction written by a seventeen-year-old, don't expect much from me to know every single detail. Much of my research is surface level and some things are, well, to fit plot, are changed. So bear that in mind.
For schedule/chapter thingt, there will be at most five chapters until I pass the 55.555 words mark. Each chapter will be around or above 10k+ words. It is also not edited, and probably won't be unless I find a great deal of time in my hands after November to see what I lack in where. That's all. Now go read, or leap to another fiction.
