Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether.
However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked?
Probably not, but a man could hope.
Earths Engineers are a double-edged sword. They can fix or improve anything, but no sane Xeno Engineer will touch it if it carries the Human Altered warning..
A series of interconnected tales from our distant future. It's not a novel, most of the chapters are stand-alone.
Also thanks for the awards.

The humans call me Nemon Fargus. They call me wizard, and [Elementalist] and [Enchanter]. They call me teacher. They call me adventurer.
But I don't care. Not anymore. For more than a hundred and fifty years I've served the Kingdom of Sena. Through four Kings and a Queen. Two wars and a rebellion. I've founded and taught at a magic school. I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks.
But now? Now, the one close friend I had left has passed. So, I'm done with their politics and their economics. The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf. Now, I'm looking for a refuge, a place that can well and truly be my own. Away from the growing cities and the bustling markets, away from the pointless wars, away from the eager students and the arrogant adventurers. It's too much.
I'm seeking the peaceful life of a wizard in his tower, studying magic to advance my spellcraft. We'll see if that happens.
This story is a rough draft. Feel free to point out errors, grammatical, spelling, plot, etc.
This is a slow burn novel, but will only ever be told from one POV.
I will be attempting to do the Royal Writathon to get 55,555 words by May 5th.
How well this story is received by readers here will determine if I continue writing after that date.
I hope you enjoy!
Sanjay King is a brewer. On a hike in the Pacific Northwest, he found himself in another world. This new world is filled with old magic, monsters that come from the Void, and ancient grudges. It is a world of hard decisions and where morality is constantly tested. it is a world of Levels and Power, but the cost to gain both is great and terrible. It is a world where the great Empire is falling and monsters are summoned to devour the world.
This is a slowish story, more a slice of life with bouts of adventure and battles. San is a man dealing with life issues and the world he's in isn't a nice place.

A particular soul has gone through more reincarnations than it can remember. Used to living quiet and simple lives, the soul is told that the next life would likely be the last one and that it would have to go back home, to the universe where it was first born to live it. A universe that also happens to be the gathering place of other reincarnators and some of the most powerful beings in the multiverse. What can a soul do when thrust in the middle of an emerging conflict? Why would this be the last life the soul can live? And who orchestrated all of this?
This is a reincarnation/isekai story, about Matt (later TreeTree), an overpowered tree in a fantasy world that serves as the battlefield for an ongoing conflict between demons and the heroes summoned to oppose them.
At first a bystander, over a long period of time, TreeTree will learn all sorts of skills, gain levels, and in doing so, build up a forest, train young subordinates, protect a village, and more.
Time skips happen a lot.
1770: 9 vessels destined for Australia disappear en route to their destination.
1775: Individuals with supernatural abilities and objects start appearing around Asia and Europe. Investigators suggest they're the crew and prisoners from the missing vessels.
1777: Flying leviathans rain monsters down all around the globe. They set up nests and destroy human settlements. Only the powered individuals can stand up to them.
1780: A fleet of warships lead by Lord William Anson find a mysterious tower growing out of the Indian Ocean. Leviathans fly around its peak, and the sea around it is unnaturally calm. They discover the structure, Gaia's Ark, is the source of monsters plaguing the world and the powers that challenge them.
1783: The East India Company and Her Majesty's Royal Army collaborate with European and Asian states to set up the city of New Calcutta. They aim not just to contain the monsters, but to harvest the unearthly resources within Gaia's Ark.
It's 1836 and Bunty, son of Swordmaster Utpal Sen, has finally started climbing the tower. He and his party—children and staff of his father's employer, the Boleyns—hope Gaia will bestow spirits upon them so they can start ascending. Not all spirits are made equal, though, and there is no telling what one might get. Bunty doesn't care. He'll settle for anything that'll let him climb. Gaia's Ark has taken someone dear to him, and he's desperate to find out the truth of their fate.
Bunty will soon learn it's not the just tower's monsters he needs to worry about. The nobility and darker factions of New Calcutta are an equally terrifying threat.

This is a story dedicated to a Universe I've been putting together for three years. The tale isn't written as a web novel, but a traditional novel. As a result, the pacing is a lot slower than what's standard on RR. As suggested by the blurb, this story features an alternate history. The events in the Universe branch away from ours from around the discovery of the tower.
I've used the GameLit tag because the tale takes inspiration from the genre. I've used the dungeon and tower tropes but the story has no levels or stats. There are 'skills', 'spells' and 'summons' but function differently from what one would expect. My magic system is heavily inspired by the Chinese comic: Doulu Dalu. If you're a fan, the story might scratch your itch as it does mine.
I'm probably repeating myself but be warned: the tale focuses on the people and the plot a lot more than the system. The progression part of this progression fantasy will be slow and our protagonist will need to overcome several obstacles to get there.

And to a skilled hacker like Akari, no secret is safe forever. The dark web holds the keys to true power, advancement, and her only chance of survival.

In a futuristic world of superheroes and supervillains, the ability to dream of another world doesn’t seem that applicable nor useful. But for Demund, who has recently sent off his best friend to the superhero training grounds—the Preliminary Islands—it was nothing but life-changing. For him, a rejuvenating vacation to a world of magic is now only a good night’s rest away.
As Demund explores his new world, reality around him begins to change. How will he manage to balance their existences together?
Author's Note: It's going to be a very long story. While it may be (very) unrefined in the beginning, stick around and enjoy as the story grows.

A horrific attack on a crowd ends with tens of thousands dead before Loren Parker abruptly wakes up in his bed, miraculously unharmed, two days before the explosion. Setalite City is on the brink of destruction, famous heroes and infamous villains are being systematically killed worldwide, and an unknown puppet master is pulling the strings. Lucky for him, Loren has all the time in the world to set things straight.
The world of Vol, a huge, bountiful plane where the only constant is life, in its many, many forms. One such form is a dungeon core, a peculiar little gemstone, and the focus of our attention. Watch as this otherwise unremarkable gem awakens in one of the most resplendant places in Vol, an aptly named Mana Reef, and how it turns its simple hole in the ocean floor into something truly unique, all while the rest of the world is forced to deal with its growth.
This is my first venture into writing for fun, and I'm hoping to keep this running until I run out of juice. With that said, I very much enjoy dungeon core novels, and wanted to do one a bit outside the norm. Hope you enjoy!
Guy dies in his sleep and gets reincarnated into a fantasy world. Pretty standard stuff. Nope! The 'guy' is a Terraria player and the body he's reincarnated into is that of his endgame character. “Who needs a Hero’s Journey, I have a pink cat sword! And a whole bunch of resources! Imma build a house!”
Warning - it may be a little slow paced, but it’ll speed up later on.
This world and main character's abilities are partially based on Terraria, Copyright Re-Logic.
Sexual Content tag is there so I have options open for the future.
