The same holds true for one intrepid adventurer - a strapping young lad by the name of Himmel. Armed with his grandfather’s trusty longsword and the dream of being the strongest, he sets out on the journey of a lifetime! It is sure to be a long and dangerous road, fraught with danger! And it all starts with a simple test - reach Level 5 in the dungeon called the ‘newbie zone’ and earn the right to become a full-fledged adventurer!

However, such things get hopelessly derailed when his adolescent mind beholds an exposed chest for the first time. A fateful meeting that would inevitably lead his life in a direction he never even dreamed of!

This fiction is written, maintained and owned by Neven Iliev. It is also a participant of the WriTEr's pledge.

I went into the prolouge thinking that this would be another throwaway boring fantasy world fiction with some stupid harem that is only there for fanservice, and maybe if I was lucky decent grammar. I came out of the prolouge thinking, huh did he just kill the main character? I want to see where this goes. And 30 minutes later I was on the last chapter that had been released laughing my fucking ass off.

The humor is great, the way the story isn't just there to support the authors jokes is great. And I mean... Just look at the title and read the description once you get past chapter 3 you will not want to stop reading.

All the good reviews and the fact that this story is on the best rated page got me to try and read this and I have to say, I did not like it (I read about 80 chapters). From a technical standpoint, the writing is strong, concise, and correct grammatically but I found the story and characters to be lacking (also it doesn't help that there's a strong 'harem-collector' theme going on here).

At the beginning, the 'plot-twist' is fun and interesting but it pretty quickly devolves into just being a main character that you can't empathise with. I know stories can be quite good even with anti-hero characters that have bad qualities (they're evil, murder people, etc.) but even in those stories the main character can usually has some redeaming quality or way that the reader can put themselves in their shoes. This story does not.

The main problem this causes is a lack of emotional involvment with the story. When I read something, I read it to gain knowlege (like a manual) or I read it to be entertained. A critical part of entertainment is that the story elicits an emotional response in the reader.  For example, when I read about a valiant hero defeating the forces of evil, I feel proud or happy that the character has achieved their goals. Similar to when a beloved character dies, I feel sad and that's good. That's how fiction works.

This story doesn't make me feel any emotions besides ocassionally being slightly amused when something funny happens and angry because I want all the main characters to die horribly. Seriously. When the main character gets captured early on in the story I was like "thank god the stupid thing is finnally gonna die" even though I knew that plot-armor would let it escape somehow. A story which makes me angry because I don't like the characters isn't a good idea.

As for the sex, it doesn't really bother me but it compounds with the last problem: there's no emotional involvement from the reader. It's similar to when script writers just put "they fight" into the script but in this case it's "they have sex". The sex really dosen't add anything to the story and for an asexual main character, It seems to surround itself with quite a lot of supermodel-hot big breasted female characters which are all, conincadentally, self-described huge sluts. I mean seriously. There's enough harem-collector webserials as it is.

If you're here for the story, I'd advise you to stay away and read something else. If you're here for the porn, I'd also advise you to stay away and read something else.

The story is pretty good.  Humor, violence, LitRPG elements, sex, adventure.  The title is a pun the MC's specie - an animated carnivorous treasure chest (which is also the basis of in-story puns and misunderstandings), though a significant portion of the cast does actually have large breasts.  Writing quality is well above average for this site.

The MC's basic nature is accurately sumarized by the author as "a toddler with a gun".  The main thrust of the story is the MC's quest to fulfill its desires for food, power, and shiny things, made humorous by the MC's stupidity, ignorance, warped perspective, and peculiar luck.

A word of caution: There is sex and general sexual themes despite the MC being essentially sexless.  Kinks are numerous and include socially unacceptable / illlegal activities (vore, tentacles, rape, futa, snuff, etc), and are usually expressed humorously and/or light-heartedly.  If that combination is likely to offend / scar you then avoid it.  The same applies to the non-sexual portions of the story (for instance, the MC nuking a town of 8000 can be played for laughs), but no one minds that.

Too much porn with the dickgirls... interesting when you added it, but it takes up too much of a now non-existant plot, which sadly makes it just another porno. I had high hopes for this story, but I think it blew up with the city.

I usually don't like stories that give the villians side of things... but this one is very well done and if you think about it, he is not a villian.  The main character is just a monster being a monster. This story is fairly original (as in with the title I never expected it was about a mimic...) and well written.  It is definately now listed as one of my favorites!

This story had potential. It had a witty and hilarious start, a real hook line and sinker. However... As the story progressed it took a very sudden turn into becoming an "erotic" novel... Not even a normal erotic novel, the "erotic" scenes included gore and rapish tendencies. While dark and "erotic" things like this may draw the majority for whatever weird "fanservice" that this is... to me, it killed the story.

It is gross. That is really all you need to know bout this novel.

Duh duh duh duh duh... I'm Loving it!

Starting with the title and synopsis, you're expecting some vaguely sexytimes kind of story, perhaps like DanMachi or Origin A.R.S. And you would be wrong. What you do find, however, is a clever comedy that looks like it can go places.

Style - The style is simple, but effective. The author isn't trying to do anything too complicated, but the simple style allows the humor to come through easily.

Story - Most stories where they try and reverse the script on the LitRPG genre and tell things not from the adventurer POV, they either go with the 'sentient dungeon' route, which does nothing for me, or layer up on the drama and talk about how this monster has such trials and tribulations and so on. This is not that kind of story, and it is like a glass of cool water on a hot day because of it.

Grammar - Nothing to say here. Any spelling or grammar errors are minor enough that they amount to stylistic things or attempts to inject accents into the writing, like when a Southerner says "Y'all."

Characters - The MC is a fairly unique character, and I think we're going to get some good development out of it, but so far the main characterization is given over to the 'adventurer of the week'.

Doppelganger mimics a mimic

The mc being a monster"mimic", really attracts me, you've pulled it out just right with a bit of comedy. For the story not much for points since most plot i read are like that mostly 'cn' like xianxia etc. I dont like most how gods meddle everytime mc do stuffs since u said gods place were like a place where they overview each world. The way you depict like mc world the only one world in story seems a bit off, since you have said theres other world gods commands also.

Over all satisfactory rate

Well Constructed and Enjoyable

01/02/2017 - Death Comes in Many Shapes 4

Style: 4.5/5

There are no major issues that I recall here. The story flows very nicely and there are no major incidents of me wondering what is going on. While I remember the plot and events in the story if I'm not bothered by some of the more technical aspects of writing I don't remember them. Worst case scenerio there may be times the story is in first person and times the story is in third person, but within each section there are no major issues. Extremely solid overall.

Story: 4/5

Again this category is quite strong. The events that happen in the story follow a certain set of logic that applies within the story. The most glaring weakness here is that there is no obvious direction the story is going. Which is just to say it's something of a Slice-of-Life story, which while not bad will be off-putting for some. Another issue is the excess amount of sex between some of the characters. It falls in line with who they are and how they have been written but it could definitely be off-putting for some.

Grammar: 5/5

As one of my own weaker areas I can't say much other than that I haven't noticed any glaring grammatical errors or spelling mistakes.

Characters: 4/5

This is something of a mixed basket. The characters themselves are well thought, written and for the most part interesting. They have their own motivations and talents and while there are a few who could stand to be fleshed out a bit more, there seems to be a lot of time to get around to it. On a more negative front the main characters thus far are a vicious monster, a masochist, a self-proclaimed violent rapist, and something of a mind-broken exhibitionist. Obviously this story isn't going to be for everyone, but if you find those character descriptions amusing or otherwise interesting there is a decent chance you'll enjoy this story.

Overall: 4.5/5

At the end of the day the story is a fairly enjoyable LitRPG story with well thought out and written characters. There are no glaring grammar or style issues and the story progress at a decent pace in entertaining and often unexpected ways. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys LitRPGs, has a slightly warped sense of humor, or is bored and looking for something to read.

Funny, Good, Genious Writer

Pretty good Story -Times

Nice Read -Wall Street Journal

would be like this, if the story were reviewed by them.

The characters are pretty consistent, the story is intresting and funny.

Sometimes it takes weird turns, but it is normal for this story.
