The same holds true for one intrepid adventurer - a strapping young lad by the name of Himmel. Armed with his grandfather’s trusty longsword and the dream of being the strongest, he sets out on the journey of a lifetime! It is sure to be a long and dangerous road, fraught with danger! And it all starts with a simple test - reach Level 5 in the dungeon called the ‘newbie zone’ and earn the right to become a full-fledged adventurer!
However, such things get hopelessly derailed when his adolescent mind beholds an exposed chest for the first time. A fateful meeting that would inevitably lead his life in a direction he never even dreamed of!

The MC is... interesting

It's. A. Freaking. Treasure. Chest.
nuff said tbh but i need 50 words. The story is very well written, I havn't gotten very far into this like max chapter 100 even though starting it over a year ago... but that's because I am reading other things but that's unimportant. The author does the knowledge of the MC very well, with it only knowing what it.. y'know... knows. I love the obsession to eat things but boi you putting on some weight like god damn!

I got trapped!

This story was quite literally the embodiment of a mimic.
It lures you in with the name, the cover art and the reviews, then trapped you with a stellar story.
All I can say is that it had me hooked like the jaws of the one and only Mr Morningwood!
Thank you author for creating such a goddamn wonder of a story.

Alright, but repetitive.

It was decent, but the plot wasn't picking up and it kept repeating the same things over and over. I just lost interest a while in to it, and never regained it. Mimic eats, fights, grows stonger, and finds new ways to fight and eat things. Only one other recurring character, and she has a pretty shallow personality.

Worth Reading!!

A friend of mine recommended this story to me and I'll admit, the cover, warnings and title gave me a set of expectations as to what this story would be like. I couldn't have been more wrong and I'm so glad I was. Don't get me wrong; the warnings are there for a reason. But it's just so well written! The main character has to be one of my favourites of all time, and they're a box.
Anyway in summary - give this story a shot, I'm sure it'll surprise you.

Such a tastily sneaky author
Reviewed at: Interlude - A little fisting goes a long way
A master of hidden forshadowing that few will pick up on without the powers of hindsight, this author wrote a truly entertaining book, and I spent a good 12 hours reading it essentially nonstop, and thinking about it after the fact makes me involuntarily smile.
Literally the only fault I can find with my complete lack of ability to analyze literature (although I may be selling myself short, idk) was the lack of the oxford comma, which mildly annoyed me the entire time. I'm not petty enough to lower the rating because of that because it would be dumb, so here we are.

Nice

Started 5 days ago when I saw someone recommended it and now here I am 5 days later and finished with the story. Overall good time.

Genuinely a laugh out loud read.

This is genuinely one of the best reads I've come across in a fantasy setting.
Everything is well done, the story, the characters, the writing itself.
Best book on this site.
I've laughed out loud several times and even tried to explain why I'm laughing to other people.
Great world building.
Great characters.
Fantastic art.
Awesome story. 100% reccomend to everyone.

Easily the best read on RRL
I'm not sure what one can possibly say in terms of criticism of this story.
The characters are unique and constantly evolving, both physically and emotionally through the course of the adventure. The cosmology of the setting is super solid and interconnected. The skill system/advancement is gamified enough to be engaging but not "Ghosthounded" to the point that you have to scroll through 200 lines of the broody protagonist learning to breathe and jog and fart better just to get to the next chapter about him holding up a fucking rock for 150 pages.
Shit, did my loathing fall out? My loathing fell out didn't it...
Anyhow. The quality of the writing is magnitudes above what you'll find in the other stories, with the occasional typo or missed word being a result of the author typing too fast rather than the abhorrant lack of knowledge or regard for the English language that infests so many others. The plot is well formed and carried out, the pacing remains high enough that you never get bored and the balance of character development with combat and grotesquely interesting sexual deviance is spot-on.
Honestly, the only thing that I could even suggest to improve this story is to make the current title a subtitle under "The Legend of Boxxy" so it doesn't put off any potential readers.

Loved it

It is the first novel i have read in royalroad and i totally enjoyed it, although the ending was unexpected to say the least, it was a very good read i loved the characters, the schemes and of course the tasties, the shinies, the softies and the large chests. thanks to the author.
The style is solid, blue boxes, precise descriptions, what you expect in a Litrpg, i like that there are different points of view and the way that each side sees how things develop unaware of how wrong one could be, or who is fooling who.
About the story i dont have much to say, i love the monster protagonist angle and this fiction is simply brilliant in that area, and the psychology aspect of the story is really captivating, like a person who becomes a monster struggles with how to act, but a monster becoming person?, he is a natural. I will say that the ending threw off bad, maybe it just blew my mind too hard idk, still besides the ending solid 5 stars, with the ending 4 stars.
The grammar is practically flawless, i never seen a grammatical error and boy i did look, as i am not a native speaker i did struggle with some more fancy words but besides that zero complaints
The characters, i have not enough space or time to say everything i want to say about them so ill just say a few words.
The mimic: the funniest protagonist i have ever seen, a complete psycho and at the same time the purest child, a weird cocktail that gives birth to a great story
The demons: wasent the biggest fan of the sex scenes, but hey it was funny in the long run and i love how they interact with each other
Our favorite random god: that i just love about this guy is that he is soooo random and that his antincs made the story so entertaining, without him half of the show would not be the same.
