The same holds true for one intrepid adventurer - a strapping young lad by the name of Himmel. Armed with his grandfather’s trusty longsword and the dream of being the strongest, he sets out on the journey of a lifetime! It is sure to be a long and dangerous road, fraught with danger! And it all starts with a simple test - reach Level 5 in the dungeon called the ‘newbie zone’ and earn the right to become a full-fledged adventurer!

However, such things get hopelessly derailed when his adolescent mind beholds an exposed chest for the first time. A fateful meeting that would inevitably lead his life in a direction he never even dreamed of!

This fiction is written, maintained and owned by Neven Iliev. It is also a participant of the WriTEr's pledge.

Forget the title and the synopsis, read the first chapter.

I read the title.... i think it's focused on the sexual content.

I read tags... i notice the "harem" tag.

I read the synopsis... i think it's another boring story with an OP MC and his harem.

I see the rating... i don't understand why it's rated so well.

I read the comments... i think i missed something.

Just in case, i read the first chapter................................. No regret.

Just read it, i don't want to spoil.

Loved it and then hated it

I really liked it at the beginning. The MC had an awesome personality. His growth was awesome. Then he started summoning the Demons. When I had to vote if I liked sexual content I put yes without reservations. God I was mistaken (not that my vote meant something). I really didn't want to read a pornographic story. It was almost as if the Mimic became a secondary character and the main action was the one between his two demons. Also even though the mimic growth in strenght was smooth, it looked like the humans were just fodder even when they were the same level as him.

Ok, this is easily a "tale of two stories", on one hand the author has shown off some amazing talent and really woven together an interesting LitRPG story (much harder then it seems folks, as most of the LitRPG stories out there are painful to ready).  I actually loved the first 10 chapters or so of this story.

My problems with it showed up later.  Later whole chapters are devoted to scenes which if animated or drawn would definitely be considered hentai.  Now one of my big problems with LitRPG is how the quest for levels and status boxes seem to overshadow pretty much any plot development and take all the momentum in the story.  This is not a problem in this book.  Instead we get chapters and chapters piled on top of chapters of hard core sex and or boarder line to outright hentai style rape, with some light plot poking its way out from time to time.  Now I'm no prude, I'm able to read raunchy sexual stories just fine.  I'm even able to write them if I have to.  But I do have a problem with it when it damages the plot and flow of the story.

Sometimes you just got to keep some of it happening off screen in the interest of the plot.

OVERALL: 4.0/5.0 – I had to take off a whole star thanks to how much the sex overwhelms the rest of the story at time (long stretches even).  That said, this author has a great sense of humor, and is writing a very creative and fun story.

STYLE: 4.5/5.0 – this is written in the 3rd person and occasionally a 1st person view.  Overall it flows smoothly, no real issues; The author is a strong technical writer.

GRAMMAR: 5.0/5.0 – good use of the English language, strong vocabulary, the structure of the writing is simple, but overall this is a well written story.

STORY: 2.5/5.0 – there is little to no discernable plot for large swaths of the story as the MC blithely powerlevels and we get a bunch of sex on screen.  When the story breaks away from powerleveling (always the weakest point of a LitRPG story) and all the eros, an interested plot usually takes shape that can hold the reader’s attention (as evidence the assault on the dungeon arc, or the recent arc starting with the electric cage).  However outside of those brief story arcs I found myself skipping chapters of walls of text describing one lewd sexual act after another, or some mind-numbing grinding.  Sometimes it’s just better to do a time skip or three.

CHARACTER: 5.0/5.0 – Overall the characters are what kept me coming back, not the plot, but the characters, as I found myself rather interested in the story about the MC, and a number of the small side stories about other characters as well.

Deranged, but amazing!

This story is not an ordinary mimic of a fantasy novel. It has such an ingenious albeit nefarious twist to its plot. The story had me trapped in a vicelike jaw of teeth and I couldn't tear myself away from reading it until I caught up to it's current chapter release.

This story is a hidden gem that I will vehemently argue to stand toe to toe with major literature works.

If you haven't read this yet, you are missing out. Simply put.

The only thing I will warn you about is there are some perverse and twisted parts to the story. Which literally ends up becoming a longstanding joke. You might argue it's a tasteles thing but then again you might argue it's quite tasty.

Monsters can be named 'Gary Stu', too...

It's well written, technically speaking.

Even so, the MC is a plot armored, dense, quickly OP protag.
Also this is yet another 'This character sheet's development' type story where the (protagonist?) gets magically convenient plot developments, and power-ups like candy from the sky.

The fact that he's not human is 'clever'-ish-- but that only holds you a few chapters.

I don't understand the popularity honestly. Rooting for the MC to prey on humans is probably a draw for many. As you're normally 'wired' for the MC to survive, you are anxious about the prospect of parties of experts gunning for him eventually. Yeah... when they act like fodder for the story you realize that was a wasted concern.

I mean- you would think the MC survivng as a monster would be a point of suspense/challenge- but no- not so much...

  • Some allies appear flaky, but are actually deus ex plot foils with conveniently masterful planning and execution.
  • Some opponents act 'smart', but are actually dumb and die stupidly.

So, those two points make for no 'challenge' or 'suspense' after you realize this is just an oddly 'monster skinned' 'Gary Stu' adventure. I guess goblins weren't 'monster' enough.

Eventually you get to the whole hentai schtick, featuring the ridiculousness of 'erotic' vore and the 'naturally resulting' mindbreak if you're can believe/are into that.

(sigh)

Well, 'whatever'...

Overall, pretty mindless/pointless.

The novelty wears off pretty quick-, but I'm sure some will find this to their liking.

For me, the forced platting and super-thick plot armor is what dragged me out of it. Well, the vore and mindbreak helped. Too many stupid things layered on top of one another and I don't find it palatable anymore. Add to that the overall pointlessness, and the clear intent not to handle any of the implied challenges in a reasonable/logical manner (instead solving with deus ex contrivances and conveniently compliant plotting) and I'm no longer curious... :(

I will say that the concept suggested a challenge in writing (in my mind) where having a mimc survive outside a dungeon (etc.) would be an interesting story. Well, this isn't that story & I suppose that's ok- but to so radically make this... whatever it actually is- to make the writing unchallenging...

Well, I'm sure many like it as-is

I just did the 'Advanced Review' scoring, and now I'm wondering how others can honestly give some of the ratings they do.
'Style' is subjective- so I'll let that go, though I don't see this as being anything beyond normal execution with a different type of character.
'Story' is also debatable- so I'll just say (how I see it) where the story is lacking a plot up to where I stopped reading. To me 'and then another thing happened' repeatedly isn't the same as 'story'. There is absolutely no goal, the plot armor on the MC removes any suspense. The convenient power-ups destroy any 'needs'... On to the next point...
'Grammar' is good. Nothing worth quibbling over there...
'Character'... The MC has none, and everyone else is disposable or a caricature. Anyone 5 stars this- I'd love to hear why.

None of this detracts from it's likability- it is somewhat amusing, and had potential. if you like it 'as is'- more power to you. I'm just not a fan of the nonsense hentai it's quickly becoming.

If you think gratuitous amounts of sex and violence are substitute for world building, character development and plot, this is the novel for you.

Initially i was deligthed that the title was a joke and this wasn't just some story with way too much focus on echi stuff. Then about 20-40 chapters in, the entire focus of the story shifted and suddenly everything was about sex... this made me both sad and ultimately unable to continue reading much futher :(

Duh duh duh duh duh... I'm Loving it!

Starting with the title and synopsis, you're expecting some vaguely sexytimes kind of story, perhaps like DanMachi or Origin A.R.S. And you would be wrong. What you do find, however, is a clever comedy that looks like it can go places.

Style - The style is simple, but effective. The author isn't trying to do anything too complicated, but the simple style allows the humor to come through easily.

Story - Most stories where they try and reverse the script on the LitRPG genre and tell things not from the adventurer POV, they either go with the 'sentient dungeon' route, which does nothing for me, or layer up on the drama and talk about how this monster has such trials and tribulations and so on. This is not that kind of story, and it is like a glass of cool water on a hot day because of it.

Grammar - Nothing to say here. Any spelling or grammar errors are minor enough that they amount to stylistic things or attempts to inject accents into the writing, like when a Southerner says "Y'all."

Characters - The MC is a fairly unique character, and I think we're going to get some good development out of it, but so far the main characterization is given over to the 'adventurer of the week'.

I went into the prolouge thinking that this would be another throwaway boring fantasy world fiction with some stupid harem that is only there for fanservice, and maybe if I was lucky decent grammar. I came out of the prolouge thinking, huh did he just kill the main character? I want to see where this goes. And 30 minutes later I was on the last chapter that had been released laughing my fucking ass off.

The humor is great, the way the story isn't just there to support the authors jokes is great. And I mean... Just look at the title and read the description once you get past chapter 3 you will not want to stop reading.
