This book is literal crack

I'm writing this review as of book 2 chapter 2. The book is oozing with potential, the bits of lore we've read so far have me hooked and the power system has me wanting more. I love how unhinged neave is, and the supporting cast is chefs kiss. They provide a great range of reactions to neaves actions and story. Bravo author! I can't wait to read more.

mad jester

i mean mad in a literal sense, the main character is quite insane. still a great story so far, thanks to a very well done time-looping arc, as well as some very intense and gritty battles. i'm not too sure where the story goes from here back in cultivatorland, which honestly makes it all the more engaging. plot progression is good. no issues with syntax or grammer. overall, worth reading.

I’m not sure about that ending

I quite enjoyed book one for the most part. The time loop sequence that takes up most of the story here was very entertaining. Even once they left the loop, the larger world building was interesting and engaging. Unfortunately, once the character left the loop and began to demonstrate what would I suspect the title of the book hinted at, I was left at somewhat of a loss. The character seemed insane, but not in a good way. The joker is mad but he operates within the bounds of logic. I didn't understand why the main character was doing most of the things he was doing through much of the final arc of book 1, and while that felt intentional based on the events, it also felt very unsatisfying. Truly mad people doing insane things for no discernible reason doesn't make for great reading. The rest of the story was a 5/5 for me, so unsure ending drops it to a 4.5.

Starts decently but goes off the rails

The story starts at a decent pace and the entire loop section was enjoyable to read, but the raise in power level of the MC when he exits is so ridiculous that the only solution is to just crank the power levels of the opponents he is facing to the point of insanity (especially since the MC is continuing to gain extra power from non-standard sources). Maybe if you like that sort of thing then you'll enjoy it, but it was quickly becoming evident towards the tail end that things were going too quickly for the authour to keep a lid on things.

Great not-cultivation cultivation story.

Gripping and well thought out.
The author created a story with consistent pacing, interesting characters and good old not-yet-there OP MC. Even though technically it is a cultivations story, there hasn't been much of defying heavens, as the MC seems to have chosen another path to power (at elast for now).

THOROUGHLY Enjoyed

Not going to go super in depth at all but good work man. I read your last a/n concluding book 2 and I just want to say good on you for taking a leap and just writing even if you weren't completely satisfied. You've produced a captivating story that really manages to carve out a place for itself even with all of the other great novels out there right now. Enjoy your hiatus and rest well. I definitely look forward to book 3. Also, I'd like to add that I really found your way of illustrating neave's madness to be refreshing and hilarious

Thank you

Your chapters became a consistent part of my day to the point that when it hit 00:46 i came to check for the new chapter totally forgetting that book 2 is done.
I didn't find the chapter (ToT) unfortunately, but i found the author notes that i didn't read yesterday and i have to say...
It was kind inspirational to be honest, because i think i have the same "don't start unless everything is perfect" but after reading your note I might just start just to get words on paper and try to have a decent story.
Because that's better than not starting at all and as someone once said it's better to fall forward than standing still.
I might have made that up just now ಥ⌣ಥ
Anyway i just wanted to say thank you
And Congrats for awesome story.
P.S: i normal don't post review i just give the 5 stars and move on so this is actually my first "review"

One of the best written main characters I've read

Created an account just to review this.
Tbh I went into this expecting xianxia trash (which I also am all for to be fair), but this blew my mind.
Main Character is the best
He has personality, and, from what I have ever read, he is unique as a character. He is charming, deranged, smart and somewhat merciless, i love it.
It has for me one of the best depictions of mental instability on a Main Character. It feels really well done, how he slowly loses grip with reality, and keeps walking on a limbo. His paranoia and the dynamic with his manipulation and his own thoughts makes him feel like a real character.
Also has a surprisingly good/interesting power system.
Read if you like characters that involve a bit of madness/crookyness and are somewhat brutal and 'out of it' to say the least, like:
The MC of Prince of Thorns and other grimdark stories.
Xianxia MCs when they snap a little bit, that but 24/7.
Battle-junkies.

I have no idea what's going to happen next...

and it is amazing! There are a bunch of stories where, after a while, you can sort of feel the way the story is going to flow. This isn't one of them. It keeps surprising me, which sort of leads into my second point...
This story is pure crack. I've spent money twice(second time to upgrade my patreon tier) to get more of it, and there were moments where I would've spent more if there had been a higher tier to upgrade to. It's that addictive.

(Title is a joke that the author put as an author note) Honestly though I really enjoy the book! Though their character conversations can be a bit weird, it doesn't take away from the story due to the main character. Have enjoyed the first two books and am now eagerly waiting for the third (though the author does deserve a break after doing daily uploads)!
