Arctic Hare

The world has gone cold and dark. You sense something unknown stalking you. There is a hole near by, so crawl inside for possible temporary safety and warmth. After blocking the way from where you entered, you turn on your flashlight and realize you're in an old shelter. You find a note next to you and read it. This is what it says...

Humans without... humanity?

The worldbuilding and setting are the strongest element of this story. The world after apocalypse became dark, cold and gloomy. The society completely collapsed and humans began to fight each other to survive, just like animals. Then some horrifying creatures appeared...
This story has everything: good setting, interesting descriptions, plausible vision of collapsing society, cool monster concept but...
The ending really isn't impressive. SPOILERS:
It would be cool to see some connection between Callers and the "eclipse" or just any surprising ending, like meeting a "normal" human who at the end isn't that normal, just anything to make readers say "wow"
Overall, I like idea of Callers, their behaviour is creepy because they made me think of "humans without their humanity"
